Why I don’t ride my 2001 GSXR 1000 that much...

I don't ride crazy. I'd ride wit you fam. I typically ride solo just because I don't like being on other people time and can go where I want, when I want, and at my own pace lol.

My first bike was a 2001 gsxr 1000... That bike was a game changer. Fast for the time, smooth and incredibly stabile.

I agree completely with what you're saying about being able to go out and ride sensibly. I have a K1, same paint style as yours, and I only tend to ride it about 5-6 times over a 5 month season. I feel like you have to use these bikes responsibly, and that's hard to do the more you ride, so it forces me to take a "less is more" approach to rides. You can go out and have fun on a ride, but the riskier the stuff the do the less you have to do it, or else you're rolling the dice way too much. I know I'm going to want to use the bike to it's potential once or twice during a ride, for sure, so I can't be riding like that and be confident I'm still minimizing the risk to myself and my bike over the long term. So, I guess if you're not going to be that sensible while riding, you have to at least be sensible on how often you push it. As well, from a preservation perspective, the less I use the bike the less risk there is to it, and so I'm able to worry a lot less about keeping it in the best possible condition while still allowing it to do what it was meant to.

I like the older 01- 03 models way better than the new smaller less stable bikes suited better for short people.

I don’t ride my 600 crazy, I just be cruising honestly, you have your moments but I don’t be driving like some other dudes on sport bikes.

Nice bike bro. I had the 750 in that year back in high school (2001). Always lusted over the blk/gry 1000 back then so years later I bought the 2006 model. Keep your K1 since it will definitively be a collector's item and try not to do anything silly like drop it, stretch it, or put glow lights on it.

My step dad has one exactly like that but his rims are black and a different exhaust, they are pretty sweet!

Back in the day, my dad had a cruiser and I had a sport bike. We didn't ride together, but the bond was super tight because we both rode. Our dream was to Order a couple of bikes from HD, take the train to Milwaukee, pick them up, and ride back to Cali together. He passed away before we got our chance. My youngest son just bought his first, a sport bike. I went with him to pick it up. I rode it around the block, the skills need work, lol. I've been thinking of buying a GSXR 1000, 01-02. I think it's time.

Had a Gixxer 750 back in the day really enjoyed that bike two reasons I got rid of it uncomfortable on long rides and having a CDL license didn't want to risk loosing my license with the way some of the guys I use to ride with rode, now have two cruisers 07 Yamaha roadliner and 18 Ultra Limited Harley would never go back to a sport bike stay safe keep it on 2 wheels.

Just bought the same bike (2001) after moving up from a 650. It's terrifying! Had it 2 weeks and already thinking of selling it.

Had my K1 1000 for 5 years, banging 167bhp on the Dyno now, with full yoshimura system, K&N Air Filter, Samco Hoses, Power Commander V, Hel braided lines front and rear, brembo master cylinder, ohlins internals front, do sprints here, and massive touring, off to do the entirety of Great Britain next month, had 182mph at the moment, been flashed in Europe France at 147mph which I got away with because our plates don't register on EU speed cameras.

I stopped riding sport bikes for the same reason...if u stayed closer I would ride with you. I used to have gsxr 600 then went to a ducati 1199. I had a bigger bike but wouldnt ride the same. To many ppl getting hurt for no reason, just like you said ppl on sport bikes ride reckless fasho. I'm in the market for a bagger myself. Hi, excelent video I used to be a tour guide for harley davidson so I rode Dynas for about 6 years every day plus, I probably getting a gixxer 1000 K2 something that worries me if the bike was to aggressive I want it for restaure use a couple times and them sell it I dont want to be going crazy on the street I just want to enjoy the process for fixing it ride a couple of times or maybe keep it who knows, How the bikes reacts when you easy with it and what common problems you have with those. sorry about my writing english is not my native language so Im trying to write organize

Bro why not make the Gixxer a track bike so you can actually enjoy the speed in a safe way. I sold my R6 for an Indian Cruiser for the same reasons you just mentioned...sport bikes just aren’t much fun under 55mph

Keep the miles low it will be worth something some day! Especially if you keep it nice and clean. Thats a rare colour scheme over here in the UK. You dont see that colour combo at all. For a start I would never ride a bike, any sort of bike without protective clothing. What happened if you fall off with a t shirt and jeans. Road rash really hurts. Unfortunately god doesn’t predict other people’s actions.

I agree 100 percent I don't ride my 08 gixxer 1000 at all I went on some rides but people ride like assholes. Plus have a daughter now 8 years old I just cruise now I ride my custom chopper most of the time but I am selective who I ride sportbikes with now.
