Thank you Amanda ❤ you don't understand how much I needed to hear this. My husband and I have been struggling to conceive but back when we started planning for a family we decided I'd stay home. I love being a homemaker but the longer it's been without a baby I've felt pressure from society to go back to the work force. I returned today (preschool teacher) it was the hardest day of my life. Working with children and yearning for one of my own about brought me to devastation. I wept to my husband and he told me it's okay for me to be home but I've been struggling with not feeling it's ok because I am not a mother yet.... I just want to thank you because hearing it's okay from stranger and that I'd be doing God's work as a homemaker is reassuring to me because today I really needed to hear your message. Your children are very lucky and fortunate to have such a smart woman as a mother taking care of them full time and nurturing them, they will grow up to realise how important a mother to be a homemaker and how much closer their relationship with their mum is than if their mum was to get a job out there

Thanks Amanda!! Being at home is definitely God’s will for our lives. I remember having an identity crisis and God spoke to my life and told me that my identity is found in him only. Although I work part time ,being at home is where I find my joy and it makes me feel the happiest.
The most valuable thing my mother did for me was being a homemaker (beside sharing the love and message of Jesus). College can be beneficial (I have a masters degree in science), but it can also be a waste of time. Post-secondary education can lead people to believe ideas that are antithetical to the Bible (and reason), like there is no difference between men and women, feminism, transgenderism, secular humanism, post-modernism, neo-Darwinian evolution, etc.
It's such a gift to your family, I agree! Totally, I think college is more so neutral and can be used either for good or bad. I know that there's a lot I learned in college that is helping me to better serve my husband now which is totally great! There's also a lot I picked up on that didn't lead me closer to God while I was there which isn't so great.
Amen. I do struggle with wanting to finish and go to back to college, to them get a job in case my husbands body give out . He’s been doing hard manual laborers for over 20+ years and growing tired.
Amen!!!! Kinda the same story for me. I quit my job to stay at home!!! No regrets there at all. Staying home to raise my children is an honor. I appreciate your content Amanda and I’ve been watching your videos for a while. I have seen several videos about homemaking and how the wife can stay at home and although I appreciate your point of view, I think it’s also important to remember that some couples cannot afford for the wife to stay at home. I would love to but we are not in a place financially where that is possible And we are living as minimally as possible. That’s great that you are able to do that but it is definitely not feasible for all moms
Yes, I’ve mentioned this in other videos and very briefly in this video! I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a woman working if it’s not a heart posture of wanting to get away from her home and her children. I totally understand that it’s not doable for everyone right away in their marriage. However, I really do think if it’s a goal for both spouses and you both feel it’s what God has called you to it can be achieved eventually it may just mean sacrificing some luxuries. I have friends who live on a single income that isn’t much over minimum wage and yes their budget is very tight but they make it work and the wives will sometimes just do side work like babysitting or a remote job from home. I agree though everyone’s situation is individual, I think the most important part is just the heart posture. God knows everyone’s heart and desires :) thank you for your comment and support!

I know it can be so hard to not listen to culture. That's why it's extremely important to constantly be meditating on God's truth and scripture. I'm glad this video could be an encouraging reminder. Praise God! Your role is SO valuable!

@@Centerpiecegardens I have been a homemaker/ homeschooling mom for more than 14 years. I regret taking my student loan for a career that wasn't me at all.
Ultimately it's up to your husband and you to decide. What I will say is I don't think God's will for our life ever changes even if it seems inconvenient or against what culture says is wise. However, we are also called to be good stewards of what God gives us and while having debt is by no means sinful it is something we should try to get out of as it makes us a slave to our lender. Proverbs 22:7 "The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender."
The point of feminism isn't exactly that you shouldn't be a homemaker. The point is that neither the government nor society should force you to do that. Personally, for me, the reason I don't find the stay-at-home mom lifestyle appealing is that if only the man is making money, he can easily use that to be coercive and abusive later on in the marriage. This obviously doesn't apply to everyone who is a homemaker, but I do suspect the motive of some who think a woman needs to be a homemaker is to give the woman less power to leave if the relationship becomes abusive or coercive.
I'm a newly wed I recently quit my job. Becasue of health reasons I have been struggling. Just feeling judged I feel like I am not helping my husband. Like if I work it would be extra 30000 year in savings. Feeling discouraged
So I’ve been binge watching your videos because I’m a STAHM and I completely agree with everything you talk about, but I’m also new to this so I was just wondering how does the financial side of homemaking look for you? Like does your husband give you spending money? How should we as homemakers come across to our husbands when we want or need something because that’s what I’ve been struggling with..
This is a great question, My husband and I think of the money he makes as our money. I think that's super important. It's no more his than it is mine. If you guys haven't yet. I would recommend making a budget and if you guys can afford for you to each have spending money as you please each month plan out an even amount. If you want something that's more than alotted amount you can save up for a few months or have a conversation about the purchase. If it's an actual need like a doctors appt. or something then that should be prioritized for either of you over "fun" money and hopefully you both can talk and agree on that! Seek the Lord for humble hearts and a desire to be one with each other as he has called husband and wife to be when having these talks.
