I have the 2022 Stealth HD and love it. Loved it even more when I took the shaft from my M4 and put it in the Stealth hd. I have also recently switched to the Maxfli Straightfli golf balls. These actually work and will also help you keep that fade or draw from getting out of control.

As a senior golfer tried a few drivers ,cobra Taylor made sim max and now use my Ping g425 don't think ill change it as it hits most fairways depending on the weather can't warrant the price of the new drivers tbh great blog info

Hi Hope don’t mind just wanted post a quick comment on your pxgs - I know you tested 0317 and how pleasing and easy you found them, I was pleased to see them in your bag today … I too have an awesome fitting on the pxg gen5 0311, as you did, but later changed to 0317 because of a better and sweeter ball flight than my gen 5’s , but I lost distance. Recently I was given a Ping STEEL shaft black dot G430 to warm up for a driver fitting, and they just didn’t work for me, the PGA Pro swapped my ping G430 to graphite regular and BLUE DOT head …. WOW Andy, I was totally BLOWN away with them - even better ball flight with nice draw and DISTANCE, so easy, they utterly suited my swing… I gained 12+ yards on a 7 iron. BLUE DOT was so important … Although I really like the PXG package, made a decision to say goodbye PXG

Still using my original rogue… tried most of the last 2 years drivers - no distance increase. Maybe they were a bit more forgiving but I normally hit it pretty good and when I do occasionally miss it -I miss it by a mile and no tech is ever going to save me

My bag is still consisting of a Sim 2 Max D. I usually hit a draw or fade on will but the weighting has helped me control my ball a bit more. No exaggeration of my already draw, but help with the fade on not losing it so far right when I cut it. I think there's a lot of people out there that would benefit by trying the "draw" model. what I like about my Sim2 is that it still sits square and is not presenting closed

I have the Sim 2 Max as well I have hit the Stealth 1 and 2 and my numbers are better and more consistent with the Sim 2

AMEN! An in play ball is 100% better than a 2 mile out of play in the water ball. I just hit it yesterday and the stealth sucked big time. I consider myself a decent driver for 53yrs old-250ish or 275 on really warm days-but dang-I was all over the place with this driver and mostly hit the inside heal. It was damn near impossible to hit it correctly in the middle. I left the store shaking my head-went to the the driving range 1/4 mile away and hit my sim max d true and straight on first hit 243 yards. When something works-don't change it just for the sake of changing it.

I have Sim Max and TM M2. Love them. Will buy a regular SIM used next to set up a draw bias over the Sim Max which is good for fades, for me. M2 is a classic monster too, and I have an old Ti Bubble 2 as well. What sound/feel. Love it!

I’d say, keep both drivers and work on the swing. On the days where you slice too much, pull out the stealth 2 HD, and when you start to hit hooks with the stealth 2 use the stealth. I think working to neutralise face to path is ongoing work.😊

Totally agree. Anything that can make the game easier and doesn’t affect your swing is a great benefit to any golfer. That doesn’t mean we have to not continue to try and iron out any big swing defects just gives us more time, while enjoying our current game.

great video Andy....i currently have the PXG GEN 5 Driver 10.5 degree and also the SIM 2 MAX 10.5 degree.............. really like the Stealth 2 HD but i am trying to figure out whether to go with 9 or 10.5 degrees.....I am 58 so not getting any younger... swing has slowed down a little......what are your thoughts ? or anyone elses also....thx...cheers from Canada

Hey Andy, replace the 2 gram weight in the rear of the club head with a 14-17 gram weight as I did. Fixed everything for $10. Stealth 2 put a 24 gram weight in rear of club. Save $600

Yup exactly the driver I was fitted into 3 weeks ago My bad shots that used to be on the next fairway to the right are now just in the rough on the correct fairway with hardly any loss of distance

i ended up going with the STEALTH 2 HD Driver in 9 degree..... 3 and 5 wood STEALTH 2 HD and the 4 HYBRID HD......2 and 4 STEALTH DHY.....STEALTH irons 5 - AW........and i LOVE all of them...thx Taylormade .....cheers from Canada

My carbon wood face started peeling off the club head 6 months after buying. My friend just had the same thing happened to him. Im convinced there was a pretty serious QC issue with the original stealths. Time will tell for the stealth 2's

@@BundyPoppy that's right. I had a new one within a week. Nothing bad to say about TM customer service. They treat the customer right. Just wouldn't be surprised if I'm doing it again in 6 months lol. Hopefully by then they'll be out of the old stock and will send me a stealth 2

Had to trade my Stealth due to dispersion issues. Moved over to G430 SFT and it has been so consistent. I think long term I had some concerns with the Carbon fiber face, maybe misplaced, but need to keep my clubs for a number of years.

Love my Stealth and also have the 9 degree. You are right, my Cobra was more forgiving, but nothing I have ever hit feels like that Stealth when you hit it square in the mouth. When the stars align, it is one sweet club.

You only need to touch the stealth face and its groves to know that its basically a driving wedge. It grips the shyte out of the ball and I've re-purchased the m6 d-type a few days ago for this reason. Newer tech isn't always better is my biggest lesson. (8 hcp)

Had a driver Lesson in the sim with my club pro and was hitting my own driver 250 ish, he handed me his own Stealth 2 with X stiff shaft and immediately hit over 270y, I need one but a bit pricey lol

I think a small sample of shots on a launch monitor would provide that data but the reality is I made my decision based on playing multiple rounds on the golf course

Another great video Andy. I current use a TSi2 and have had a shot of TSR2 🎉which I quite liked. I have a TaylorMade fitting on Monday 01/05 and I am hoping that the Stealth 2 HD model could be the one for me for pretty much exactly the same reasons as you detailed on the video (I tried original Stealth but could not get on with it). I had a Ping fitting last week and I have a fitting at the Titleist Centre at Craigielaw in just over a week. I suspect I will end up being fitted for TSR2. However, if I’m buying with my heart I really want to go with Stealth 2 as I really like the look of it and as an initial guess I would suspect the HD model might be best suited to me. But I guess if there’s not much to choose between 3 great drivers the choice of what to buy might be a tough one.

I am reading of a few occasions where these driver faces are cracking, but it's not just TM, but also Callaway, and a few others. I guess there's always going to be a very small percentage where the specs get exceeded and things happen. But, I'm definitely looking for quality and durability. Thoughts?

I dumped stealth as well, had the stealth HD and dumped it for the Ping SFT... that was a couple months ago and should have done it sooner.

Your videos are very helpful because we have the same swing speed . Andy from another video of yours I have that shaft as a ProForce V2 5F3 High Launch 50gram Reg. Flex. Is that correct? Is the shaft at standard length or did you cut it back? Is that 9* head set at 9* or is it turned up to 10 or 11? In your other videos you were often at 10.5 and you had the standard Stealth 2 set at 11*.

So yes to the shaft but 1” shorter than std. playing the 9 head as it seems to launch higher which I feel is to do with the 30g weight in rear position

Late to this party, but I'm finding all kinds of stuff about the Stealth and Stealth 2 exploding or caving in, "from using shitty range balls" etc etc. I just purchased a Stealth 2+ on sale at Dicks to go with my 2nd hand Taylor made dominant set of clubs I just picked up. Is it really as fragile as some people are making it out to be?

I honestly thought it was going to be the PXG you were changing too. Whenever I saw you hit it on other videos you hit it dead straight and quite far. Shocked when you pulled the stealth 2 out. It's that RED VENTUS shaft!!! Mine tends to do the same thing, BUT I bought a Taylormade SDLR with a Fujikura Speeder shaft, switched out the shafts and it made a world of difference!!! Keep the head, ditch the shaft!

@@paulfordyce4393 I’m 61 and my swing speed is very average LOL. At least in my experience the fitting process at PXG and Titleist were completely different, the Titleist rep was far more experienced. The PXG fitting was very cookie cutter not a lot of thought, if your swing speed is x you get this shaft etc… The Titleist immediately picked up on the ball flight and high spin, got me into a stiffer lower trajectory shaft, my drive total distance went from 215-220 to 240.

I'd rather go with Paradigm. Better feel/sound than TSR which I love that driver. The older TSI had a better feel in most golfers assessments Most low handicap golfers in my area are going Callaway over Titleist drivers. AZ.

I played a Custom fitted TM R9 Supertri for 10 years. Moved to a G410, slightly counterbalanced setup and super forgiving. I like the turbulators, simple finish and does the job. See no need to buy into the rest of the marketing spin…..

Andy . Be careful as Taylormade tip some of the driver shafts from standard and I think the UST shafts are one of them so whatever your flex is it could be one stiffer therefore making the fade worst. UST say you don’t tip there shafts for a driver for the standard flexes.

@@TheAverageGolfer t th e wife’s a pro golfer using reg and used the same shaft UST Proforce high launch shaft and could never hit a draw which was her natural shape with Taylormade drivers from the Sim onwards only to find out there where all tipped. Didn’t have the same problem with the G410 or 430. So I don’t understand how Taylormade fit people in these shafts when there not the right flex.

I dumped it too. The first thing is there is no feedback, it do not matter where you hit it on the face, you do not feel the impact, toe, heel, middle, impossible to tell the difference. The second thing is when you do get a mishit, the ball just dies mid air and drops straight down, really weird ball flight, never had that before. It is however really straight.

If it works for you, then it was the right change. I tend towards a slight draw with my Stealth 1 so probably not a change I need to make. For most of us spending £500+ on a new driver is money which would be better spent on a package of lessons. As for shafts, when you find one that works I agree it makes such a difference, it is so confidence inspiring

@@TheAverageGolfer That V2 shaft is made to get the ball in the air. So you wouldnt need to hit up the ball much? The reg V2 shaft at 58g would have a low torq. 3.2? It would be straighter.. maybe?

I'm still using my Ping G driver, at least seven years in action. I'd love to update but AUD1,000 to get into a current model is just not realistic. Investment in lessons is both cheaper and more beneficial in the long term. Ping misses out but my club pro wins.

Curious if you had the original stealth hd? That’s what I have and it was way easier to hit than the standard stealth. Also emailed taylormade and they sent me the extra weights to adjust as needed. I think it was 3 diff size weights. Now that I’ve improved my swing I def see the draw bias and I’m drawing everything which is the opposite of what I was doing and now potentially need a non bias driver. I will say the OG stealth goes far but mishits aren’t very forgiving

I strongly believe most of us non pro golfers want more distance especially off the tee but for me I prefer forgiveness, this is why I dropped playing the driver out of my bag altogether, sure I lost distance, but my callaway 2 iron hits the fairways 90% of my tee shots my driver never did, sure I have lost upto 50 yards on my tee shots but I love punching my 2 iron down the middle of the fairway :)

The price of a stealth 2 driver (£500) gets you lots of lessons that would teach you to swing the club on the correct path and control the club face better, thus helping hit every club better. Rather than paying £500 for ONE club to help reduce a swing fault path or club face or both... why pay £500 for ONE club that will help minimise a fault, when spending £500 on lessons with a Pro will help all swing paths and face control

The problem isn’t the driver, it’s your swing is like mine and 99% of most amateurs, it’s not that great and it’s inconsistent. You take it way inside on the takeaway and come over the top on the downswing. You can’t buy a game. I’m in my mid 50’s, an 8 handicap, and have both the standard stealth (not 2) and the PING G425, when I put a good swing on either they both work well, conversely, when I struggle with my driver swing I hit the G425 worse than I hit the Stealth. At the end of the day, you own your swing and that is the biggest factor in making a the ball fly straighter.

Your original Stealth wasn’t a Stealth HD so comparison not really relevant. Try comparing the Stealth HD to the Stealth 2 HD. I’d like to see if there is any noticeable difference please

Essentially.. long story. I’ve tried Paradym triple diamond 9° & 10.5°. Stealth2 Plus 8° & 10.5°. Standard Stealth2 9°. Paradym hit well and had low spin but had a slight fade for me. Stealth just doesn’t feel that good, never feels like you crush it, has a weird hollow feel, I guess it’s the carbon face, I don’t care for it, it also has a fade on it for me. l ended up sticking with my Rogue ST Max LS 10.5°, Ventus Blue 6S w/ VeloCore. No fade, usually very straight, or I can put a baby draw on it.

Nobody said there was an issue with the driver, it is about choosing a driver that utilises weighting to negate a ball flight, isn’t that what these models are designed for?

Saw an interesting teaching video with Rick Sheils. His student was a big sliver with an original Rouge driver. He thought he’d try the Big Bertha that you’ve used before. It helped, but not much. Rick then spent 5-10 minutes of a lesson with the guy and put him back in the old Rouge. The guy started hammering it dead straight. One of Rick’s better videos.

Nah. People need to either work on their swing or keep working with the driver they have. Some people switch drivers as often as they switch their underwear looking for something that will correct their poor and inconsistent form. Just saying. ... Think about this; If you have ever hit a good shot with your driver, then you hit a bad shot, it's probably not your driver.

Andy, I follow most of your ideas and thoughts about clubs like PXG and L.A.B putters. My friend has a XX10 like you tested last week and it’s changed his game massively. I had a Stealth, 4 PXG drivers, Paradigm, and BRNR mini driver. Two months ago I went to a club builder and said I don’t care what brand head or shaft fit me for whatever you think is best combination. I ended up with a TSR 3 fitted with a VA Composite Nemesys shaft. It’s the most counterbalanced shaft you can get. Wow!!!! My swing speed is only about 90mph but this is so good. I never had any interest in Titleist and doubted I’d be able to launch this club but the shaft is just magic. I got one for a TM and PXG but I’d recommend trying this combo for sure.
