Just got fitted for this driver. Absolutely love it. Hit every single fairway on the front 9 on my first round with it. Then I drank too much beer lol 😂
I’m an average, mid-handicap golfer and have had the Stealth in the bag for about 2 months now. I will say it’s a spectacular driver! An absolute game changer! I can’t recommend it enough.
@@vonwayne4442 I would say my driving distance has improved and I continue to be really happy with the driver. To provide some specifics, my old Calloway driver used to get me 200ish yards. With the Stealth i’m probably 215 to 220 yards. As you can see, I’m not a big hitter (I’,m 55 with a bad back). But those extra 15 to 20 yards gained made a meaningful difference to me. Hope that helps!
I used to play the old TM R11 which was really hard to control despite all the options to change the shaft and weights. I switched the the Stealth and absolutely love it. I have so much confidence hitting tight fairways or even attacking greens with it. It is 100% forgiving and even a bad shot is would still be a good shot with the old R11. I can absolutely recommend it
Very helpful to explain not only gear effect and twist face but also what happens when struck at different points on the face. I have struggled with finding a reliable driver for myself - distance and tight dispersion especially as my tendency is to pull the ball right (leftie!) - rarely ever slice. So draw drivers or draw bias are a bit of an issue for me. Since my M2 (though is was a tad too long a shaft for me) have not found a driver that gives me the same distance in my senior years with relatively tight controllable dispersion. My current driver - pxg proto x+ is a fairway finder but lost a good minimum 30 yards of carry to the m2 - shaft considerably shorter and loft 12 degree set at 11 which is good as it opens the face for me a little. Am tempted to try the rouge st max but concerned about the draw bias or the stealth perhaps. Titleist might be another option I suppose. Never liked ping drivers and had them - and don’t like the look of the turbulators and draw bias at address. Though like a Matt finish. Interesting my hybrid is the epic super hybrid 2021 which I like and hit well and has a much better flight and curvature to it and which I rarely pull left at all. Hence the interest perhaps in the Callaway. Any thoughts. Plan to test and eventually get fitted especially shaft choice and length wise. Ps never got one with the sim driver. Another o-toon might I suppose be to forget driver and go for a good 3 wood. Indeed often on a par 5 I drive off with my super hybrid as well as second shot giving me a third shot with my irons into the green. Rest of set perfect and working well so fixing the club off the tee especially regaining the 30 yds carry is key. The focus on where you strike the ball is important as you point out and am trying to tighten the impact point more consistently.
Jay. great review. The forgiveness data is fantastic. It;s a great help for average players when comparing drivers. I know everyone is different and getting fitted is best, but the forgiveness data can give us a list of drivers as a starting point. Do you have a summary of the driver forgiveness data available(like a cheat sheet)? That would be great to quickly compare specific drivers or see a ranking of forgiveness.
@@AskGolfNut So true...your review on the Rogue ST really shows how forgiving that driver is. Did you release that video before the embargo? I was trying to share it but it was gone but I think it's back....
Got my dates mixed up with everything banding around similar dates, it wasn't the 12/24/2021 it was the 1/4/2022..... Similar numbers just mixed up a touch 🤦🤷😂
I just purchased the stealth on week ago. It has added about 40 yards and as long as i go through my preshot warm up it has almost eliminated my slice. So forgiving i absolutely recommend the stealth.
I had the original SIM and got rid of it quite quickly because of losing bad toe strikes massively right. Unfortunately it didn’t happen in the fitting but on the course I’d feel the shaft twist and bye bye ball! Interesting explanation and a great review 👍🏻
If only more reviewers gave more insightful head data 🤔 its not because most don't have it, for some reason (I'll leave that up to everyone else to assume) they don't want to disclose it 🤔😂 Honest reviewing and honest claims have to be done with coinciding head analysis so any gains can be properly explained...... Some people claim gains with all types of equipment yet never show where those gains come from 🤦 Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
honestly I love how it hits and the design. the younger generation is loving the look i think that was the target was my age group 18-30im buying one wednesday i shot 21 holes and fell in love . im no pro im a amatuer but my drives drew alot and now they are straight as ever .
well done Jay. You manage to stand out in a crowded YT market of club testing because of the forgiveness testing and the way you explain it. Makes it much more relevant to mid hcaps like me vs just watching you hit bombs over the green (but that's fun to watch as well so don't get rid of it please).
It's my custom fitting / coaching room thats the really enjoyable environment to be in. Looking at getting some 3d pressure plates in the next possible upgrade to it 😊 but from a testing position it's a nice facility and allows me to collect and critique the data that comes from the tests 👍
I can say with some experience that it would be slightly higher spinning, marginally higher launching and thus just due to those changes slightly more forgiving but again marginally at best. Its much more down to the fitting of the equipment than just bare tests between them 👍
Totally agree on the plastic moulded looks of the TM drivers. Always thought the M6 looked cheapish! Think maybe the red or blue colour (SIM,SIM2), like a kids toy, doesn't help, Saying that , how often do we look at the sole when swinging the club! I'd still like to own one though.😁
Im new to your channel. Great video with great data and your honest take on things. In particular the grouping data is important and with more than 4 shots as data points like some other videos. I'd love to see a comparison of your top 3-5 forgiving drivers that still hit long. Personally I have interest in the Stealth vs Rogue ST max vs the 2021 forgiveness champ the G425 Max data. I've been debating SIM2 Max or G425 Max for it's forgiveness but if this has that I'm likely to get it.
Just like to make a comment on the sound of the Ping driver (titanium face). All Ping woods sound like your at the coconut stall at a village fair. You couldn’t have picked a higher tinnier sounding driver to make the comparison lol. PS great informative content as usual👍🏾
Thanks for the review. Would you happen to know some of the more technical details , such ad head weights and how heavy is the back weight on both models?
This thing is a monster, very very amateur beginner here and im crushing drives and hitting draws and fades when ive never hit a draw or fade in my life, the stiff flex Fujikura Speeder shaft has helped so much compared to the sloppy loose flex shitty driver i had with my beginner set of clubs. Don't ever want to hear anybody say clubs don't make a difference again. Now obviously a legit set of clubs isn't gonna magically make a rookie like me become Tiger Woods, but it will 100% improve your game if you're playing with cheap shit
Personally I would go Rogue if I had to choose one. Prefer the looks of the Rogue, too me it looks more of a premium club, performance is identical. The titanium face will also wear better than the carbon fibre Stealth as the years progress. Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
Thanks Brian, forgiveness between all the models aren't overly dissimilar so expect them to perform very much the same apart from the other models will have a slightly higher spin profile and marginally increased launch angles which would potentially suit the slightly slower setting speed golfer. Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
Subbed! - I reckon there's more useful info here for us guys than TXG to be honest. Love the forgiveness tests. I've had nearly all Titleist drivers, and, M5 Tour and SIM, and the TSI3 feels like it's got a lot more going for it than people think. Do you have access to one for testing? I think people may be surprised with it going up against the Stealth and Rogue in that dept.
Tested this myself yesterday with my own TSi3. Both had HZRDUS Smoke RDX black 6.0 60g shafts in them (10.5 head in Stealth [standard sleeve], and TSi3 was 9.0 but set at C3 for my fit). Both went the same distance for me, but the Stealth+ was really loud compared to the TSi3, like Ping G425 loud. The most concerning thing was a left hook out of nowhere with the Stealth+ with what I thought was a normal swing. Never hook it left with my TSi3, so back into the pro shop it went. Long live the TSi3.
Same, wouldn't be any worse and especially as dispersion gets less with reduced head speed then potentially even more forgiving in real terms of fairway counts 👍
I've seen and heard many a golfer transfer to Ping for this very reason, maybe not longer in raw, distance to the Stealth but overall including the miss hits the Ping option has worked out much better..... Just a personal observation 👍🏻👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut really appreciate that advice. Just got Ping irons after your recommendation. Love the way you break down the miss impact based on face impact. Quick Q... do you think moving the Stealth weight more from the draw/heel side to behind the more regular impact point closer to toe from centre. would this help put some mass in that area and help with toe mishits? I am defo getting closer to centre contact but miss is toe and your video confirmed that a miss of 2cm is massive on stealth
Love your reviews dude. Interesting and slightly frightening about the twist face on the toe, which is my miss. Wonder if it's any better with the Stealth (non +) model.
Generally 100% true with any golf club. Heel misses just rob distance full stop, there might be roll and bulge on woods to keep it straighter but it's going to lose a bucket load of distance. Like for like toe to heel strikes isn't even a fair contest as the toe ones (again generally) are much longer misses. 👍
@@AskGolfNut yeah sorry, I didn’t express myself properly. I was referring to the gearing effect dropping off, with the shot 2mm further out of the toe going hard right. Would moving the weight to towards the toe negate that?
What’s been interesting to me, having looked at your shots and the reviews from the other channels is how straight this driver, AND the Rouge, seem to be.
On the shots you see me hitting outside in hitting my standard (trying to hit middle of the face) shot to give an idea of sound / feel. Me trying to hit target so to speak. When it comes to my in depth forgiveness testing I'm intentionally trying to deliver the golf club angles the same as normal but physically miss strike the face to see how well the club in question performs from those strikes. 👍
Strikes moving the weighting system would effectively be exactly the same amount but shifted minor amounts to either heel or toe. The weighting system doesn't move the effective middle by as much as people think but can help with face rotation and a degree of moving effective CG points 👍
My daughter has a swing speed of 65mph, she is ten years old and using a TS1 driver. Do you think the womens stealth driver will help her, in regards of distance and accuracy? Thank you.
Hi, I wouldn't say so. As long as she has a somewhat modern day driver and more importantly has the right loft in her hands to get the ball launching as well as possible. Regularly with very reduced swing speeds the fairway wood actually produces more favourable launch conditions due to the increased loft. Switching to another driver wouldn't be advisable for the search for added distance unless the new driver has a better lofting ability. I'd look at getting her custom fitted so you can understand exactly what she'll needs loft wise 👍 Thanks for the comment and for watching.
Hi Jason, it was the GCQuad from Foresight. Although you can get exactly the same functionality from the GC2 with the HMT attachment for about half the price 👍 Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
If you already on a TailorMade do you have a very good return on them so yes it’s $500 in whatever a quid is or dollars you wanna measure by but the return they give you was almost $300 off
Hi Dave, a quid is a slang word for pound. Currently sim max 2 driver goes around 2 to 3 hundred pound (quid 😊) on ebay. Although it's in some cases not even a year old and the new option is £500. If every driver was capped at no more than 350 to 400 pound then they'd probably be in better reach of the average golfer. Very very good driver 👍
I think they all do 😊 looking at the similarities and differences they are designed for the same market of golfers. The Callaway has no weight adjustment at all, just the loft adapter. I have noticed a certain amount of draw bias, if that works for you then great. The TM has that movable weight that you can align with strike pattern to reduce any unwanted ball tilt axis and also the loft adapter. The Mizuno has the loft adapter but also a more comprehensive weight adjustment on the sole plate, it can be placed in a number of positions to reduce curvature or change the spin profile. Keeping weights exactly the same they'd do very similar jobs but the TM has it over the Callaway when it comes to adjustment and also the Mizuno over the TM for the same reason. Also let's just quickly say there is a price difference with the Mizuno not only being the most adjustable but also the cheapest. Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
Wait for a few months before the full JPX923 line up is released Forged and all, then book yourself in for a trustworthy custom fit (no commission based, unbiased) to test the benefits of changing. You may be surprised by the results depending on your club delivery. Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
Tom I couldn't agree more. Then Callaway with the epic Forged irons that cost the same as a second hand car 🤦 Started the ball rolling and will it ever stop......
Nobody talks about Titliest and Ping that haven't branched off to exotic material . They are all some form of steel to complete there design. They are every bit as good and even better than other OEM"s . TM boasting they will never go back to metal faces. Well lets see what happen in the next six months, from the range rats . I suspect crowns to crack, the face to chip. Not sold on this move by TM. There is know way the face holds up with hair thin nano tech . I hope they have a return department open, if not they better hire more help. Cheers
Any thoughts on the difference in forgiveness between stealth and stealth plus? I have SLDR and a coach told me to put weight in heel as I have a tendency to hit from heel and it really helped. This would push me toward the plus but other reviews say the stealth is much more forgiving. If I did decide to pony up and upgrade I would be getting fit which should help with this question. Thanks for the unique review!
I gave it a full blow hit so the microphone would pick up the very much louder higher pitched titanium ting of the Ping 👍 that's why it went further, because I basically gave it a faster whack than the standard swings of the TM 😊
On the real… tour players even miss the middle of the face everyday at a tournament. if you wanna get it… go buy it!!! Make sure you hit it on a simulator so you can see the spin rate. Make sure you get a shaft to help drop those numbers down if needed. i know others complain about TM and other companies release clubs each year. But oh well… they release new cars each year. Doesn’t mean you need to go buy a new one. But if you want to… go for it!!! I think it is funny how butt hurt people get over other wanting a new driver each year. why care not hurting your golf game lol. companies gotta make money. lol
Apart from a carbon face which is 1st gen so no doubt lots to come from it going forward. But yep compared to the sim2...... Doesn't seem to be a gain in ball speed with like for like head speed and delivery dynamics so..... People will have to make their own minds up I guess 👍
I'm skipping this driver for the simple reason I don't believe the face will be durable, could be wrong but when that PU face gets scratched, chipped worn from general use the driver is void. I know TM would have done intensive testing but we have seen durability issues with premium products before.
Toon Lad I understand your concerns, TM have been plagued before with QC issues for instance speed slots coming out, faces caving etc, although definitely not run of the mill, it has to be a possible consideration when purchasing 1st gen products 👍
Hi M B, I'm sorry I'm not understanding your question. Are you saying my peak heights are too low or that you feel I'm hitting it from above floor level?
Hi M B, 2 metres would be the best stinger I think Tiger would be proud of 😊 I like to see peak heights around the 40 yard mark, not really over that with as flat descent angle as possible for max much roll out 👍
It's definitely not stealth 😊 it's not as loud as a titanium driver as I showed, however isn't the quietest carbon driver, and would say that the earlier rogues and epics were quieter hits off the face.... I think if anything the Stealth refers to a marketing tag line that catches people's imaginations and desire to test.
Loose the jacket man , noise of rustling competes with the driver noise. Just saying. I had tried out the stealth which was good now bringing out stealth 2. They're having a laugh🤔
From what I've seen already there are some very interesting options coming soon for 2022 that prove to really shake up the driver market at prices much more inline with last years prices......... 🤫😊
Normal blue collar golfers don't invest in expensive Taylormade equipment. That is why you only see pro golfers and reviewers use Taylormade clubs because they these clubs for free. Nobody who will pay for clubs out of their own wallet to be labeled obsolete by Advertisements because the next gen is more forgiving and goes farther because of Unicorn Horn Technology and Nano Semen from Bigfoot.
Hahaha my sentiments exactly. Anyone really honestly care if it goes 5 or 10 yards further? If you can’t hit a 8 iron worth a flip then getting 10 yards to hit the 9 iron isn’t going to help because most likely you ain’t hitting it good either. But if you can hit a 8 then you can probably hit a 7. It’s never going to happen to go from a 7 to a 56 degree wedge so just get a 2 year old driver and get the next shot in the green that’s where the scores happen
