Milwaukee is a great value/quality ratio. Great quality at a reasonable price. For me as a DIYer, the M12 series is perfect.

Snap on got away with super over priced tools for many years now they have some strong competition and they have to change their ways or be out of business

I love snap on. It makes me feel good every time I grab one out of my box. But I’m with ya on the Milwaukee power tools. There just better, and even with my extreme tool snobishness, I proudly use them everyday

I completely agree. I switched to Milwaukee about 2yrs ago, there impacts and battery life is great. I have the 1/4, 3/8, 3/8long, and new 3/8 brushless snap on ratchets and love them.

Hit the nail on the head my friend, I feel the exact same way about snap on and Milwaukee cordless tools. I have a few of Milwaukee's stuff including the 1/2 impact and I won't buy snap on again, however I have the same ratchet combo as you and they are still miles ahead of the Milwaukee ratchets

Good video! I am sure Snap-On loves this vid. Subscribed. I am still all air tools (except a cordless 3/8" HF ratchet). Really looking forward to migrating over to Milwaukee--particularly their 1/2" impact. It should take the place of my Aircat (which is pretty darn robust).

Milwaukee cordless tools rock. Very hard to beat for sure. The batteries are spendy though. I do like their constant innovation. Most recently I picked up the 2553 1/4" impact driver. For working on motorcycles and a lot of other stuff it is almost perfect.

Excellent Video. Milwaukee has been the #1 "Go To" power tool brand for Electricians, Cable Technicians and Plumbers for decades. Home Depot buys Milwaukee power tools in mass bulk and as a result they have the best Milwaukee deals (often better deals than Amazon). If you have a Graybar store in your area they alway have a huge selection of Milwaukee power tools, but Graybar is more expensive than Home Depot but they have a much larger selection. Unfortunately, Graybar also doesn't have stores all over the U.S. like Home Depot does, so access to a Graybar store might be limited depending on where you live.

A plus with Milwaukee is a 5 year warranty on the tool, had an issue with my 3/8 M12 Impact, sent it in expecting they would repair it and clean it up, they didnt they sent me a brand new impact. Plus 2 year warranty on the batteries.

Should go with the Milwaukee heat gun. Great tool for quick jobs like wiring. Don't have to unwind and plug in your heat gun and wait for it to cool off before you put it away. Great tool and uses same batteries and it's under $100 for just the took. I just got my die grinder today. Super slick and going to break it in this weekend. Thanks buddy!

I just got the 3/8" wrench M12 and love it. When my Pneumatic impact gun or air compressor bites the dust I'm getting the M18 Milwaukee and that will be my first M18 tool probably. May be many years may sooner may be never. Nothing last forever of course.

I was already running Milwaukee tools so I already had battery's and a charger. That being said I bought a high tourque half inch impact on eBay brand new for 130$. That being said I've used it as a automotive tech for the past 7 months without fail it's been great and very seldomly do I need to get a breaker bar out

I love the right angle die grinder for the same use, surface prep, pretty much just use power mode 1 for most jobs! I find it very compact to get in tight spaces, less scraping, cleaning by hand!! I love the m12 stubby, and the powerful ratchets 55 ft lbs! I love the 2nd gen m18 mid torque!

As a home DIYer, I’m all in with the Milwaukee M12 and M18 series. The tools are fantastic. I stick with Tekton for sockets and HF for ratchets. I couldn’t see the justification in Snap-On-even for a professional. Price doesn’t always reflect quality; especially with the lifetime warranties now-a-days and similar manufacturing locations of these tool companies. Heck, the Daytona LRLP Jack is awesome.

I love Milwaukee’s cordless tools especially the 1/2” high torque, and the m12 stubby. But I totally agree on the ratchets. I’ve always been on the fence with mine. It’s torquey, but it’s big heavy and awkward, and I hate the paddle switch.

Been using my 1/4 Milwaukee ratchet for about 5 years now as a aircraft tech. Love it, tried others in the past and love the Milwaukee. To me the ergonomics are great. Never used the 3/8 one.

The biggest snap on fanboy in my shop goes with Milwaukee. He eats and breathes snap on hand tools, but even he recognizes the power tools don’t cut it, especially for the price. I like some of the 14.4 stuff, especially the 3/8 impact and the long neck cordless ratchet, but with the 18v I’ve been disappointed. I personally go with dewalt for my impacts and drivers, but nothing wrong with Milwaukee. Both are great imo

I have the Milwaukee 3/4 inch one key high torque impact gun. It is an utter monster. 1500 breakaway torque and 1200 tightening torque. It looks like the half inch just with a 3/4 inch head but the instant you first use your first reaction is this thing is a whole different meaning to the word monster

Heavy equipment mechanic, made the switch from snap on to Milwaukee in 2012 i think. Never looked back. Although I wish Milwaukee had a better mechanism to hold the batt on, have a couple tools that have loose batteries to the extent the tool doesn't work. Cheap plastic.

The 6.0ah and 8.0ah batteries are the same size an weight, so might as well go for the 8.0ah

I have used both the M12 stuff and the 14.4. Power always felt the same and the feel/balance is much better on the Snap-on along with the rocker switch for direction is much nicer to use on a daily basis. I am also partial to being able have a color other then red so in a shop full of the same tools you can tell whose are whose if they get borrowed etc.This was worth the extra money to me but the M12 line is still a good buy. The cordless soldering iron is something I miss though. On the 18V line yea snap-on is way late to the party and maybe has some better durability for about the same power at twice the price. Take care of your tools and milwaukee is a no brainer

I had the older Milwaukee M18 1/2 inch cordless impact. Both the batteries separated. I also left the tool sitting for a while without using it. Eventually the batteries lost their charge, and the tool couldn’t even take off a lugnut anymore. Sold it. I have the snap-on 14.4 volt 3/8 impacts. Switched died within a year and had it fixed under warranty. But for 1/2 inch stuff, I go to my Ingersoll Rand 7152.

You're sure right. The Milwaukee M18 impact wrench is awesome. The first time I used mine on a tractor I threw my pneumatic SnapOff in the dumpster. Last week I got the new Milwaukee angle die grinder. Also threw away my old pneumatic model.

When I was first moved out and was having to buy all my own tools since I didn't have my dads garage anymore I always looked at Snap On with envy, but as I got older and used it more I could never justify its cost. Now I tend to look at people who have tens of thousand of dollars in Snap On tools as fools. One exception is a mechanic I know who has 50+ that work for him. He makes well over a million a year and has snap on tools in his home shop for his personal cars. He doesn't work on customer cars anymore. For him it is pennies. They don't stop him from buying anything else, so why not. But he heavily discourages it. He even tells all his employees to avoid them. He said if he could go back he never would have bought them. That he could have done so much more when he was younger ( he is like 50 now) if he didn't spend so much on tools.

At the shop I work at is a 13 bay shop we have all Milwaukee Snap-on and mac , I will say I have used them all Snap-on was the go to when stuff wouldn’t come off verse Mac and Milwaukee thou I do like how the Mac feels so I use it the majority of the time.... the best 1/2 inch battery impact is ingersoll with 1500 reverse

I'm a new Milwaukee guy myself. I already have the 1/2 high torque wrench, m18 tire inflator and 15 mm da polisher and I am gonna get the m12 insider ratchet, 3/8 stubby and their m18 grease gun in the future.

I like using the the m18-1/4" stubby so I can get my 8MM bolts torqued down to 250 foot pounds. Just in case they are tempted to loosen and roll away.

I agree that the head on the 3/8 fuel ratchet is too big. Have been trying to get Milwaukee to make a version of the 1/4 fuel ratchet just swap out the anvil to a 3/8 drive.

Wait till you try out the M18 1” impact, that thing is a beast.

I switched from Milwaukee M18 to Snap-on 18v, already had snap on 14.4v as i've never been a fan of the M12 line. I have the new Snap-on Ct9075 1/2" brushless, and Ct9010 3/8" brushless impacts I love them both, I got the 1/2" full kit for 1/2 off on the truck brand new. When I originally started I was going to use Milwaukee M18, and Snap-on 14.4v, but after using the new Snap-on 18 volt stuff, and having used my dad's for however long the 18v have been a thing, I decided to go with Snap-ons 18 volt. In my opinion, I find them to be better built and sturdy over Milwaukee, especially when it comes to the batteries. I will say that the snap-on 18v tools are stupid expensive, but I love them enough to justify the price of buying the, just waiting for them all to go brushless before i go buying the drill, and other stuff. I do know after using both that I like the snap-on grease gun over the Milwaukee, as the Snap-on is slimmer, and when you work on Semi trucks, or Coaches, you need about as small as possible these days. I was also disappointed in my M18 3/8 impact as my Ni-Cad Snap-on 3/8 blew it out of the water somehow, but those are my opinions on the Snap-on vs Milwaukee debate. I also never even heard of milwaukee tools until my freshman year of high school in 2015, that's what my shop teacher had.

Have you tried the 3/8 stubby to loosen a Subaru Crank Pulley bolt with a 22mm socket? I just bought the 3/8 stubby and 1/2 Mid Torque.

The 1/2 Milwaukee impact will do everything a 3/4 air impact will do. One reason Milwaukee is made in China is the electronics if it was made in the USA it would cost 3x as much

I work at an isuzu dealer, the techs the milwakee guns on the nprs and our local school busses. They work and have held up well

I got rid of all my snap on cordless 18v tools and switched all Milwaukee. I have the grease gun, big angle grinder, 1/2” high torque gun, 3/8” gun! Way more power then the snappy

It may be worth a look at the older Milwaukee brushed 3/8 ratchet they are cheap and much smaller heads, plus they are faster than the Fuel ones and supposedly better about the batteries (not sure about the durability though as I'm a couch commando, lol) :)

Agreed. The Snap-On 3/8" ratchet is better than Milwaukee's ratchet. I love mine. I chose Snap-On because of the head size and the trigger mechanism. Other that the ratchet Milwaukee has everything else over Snap-On.

Get the new right angle impact! It’s similar to the ratchet, but 220ft lb of torque. It’s a great tool for the tight spots way better than the ratchet

I love snap on tools as well. I hate the price of ‘em. Milwaukee is blowing snap on away though and yes, at about half the price as snap on with s better warranty than snap on. I have the new brushless 1/2” drive 1440ftlb break away torque and I believe 700ftlb working torque my first test was removing lug lugs that were installed with a 1” air impact gun on a flatbed tow truck. No issue at all. I was impressed. I haven’t found any impact that Milwaukee makes that will beat it. My friend has the Milwaukee 1/2” impact and we compared them and they were mad that my snap on was stronger with less volts only thing I do not like about my snap on 1/2” drive impact is the weight of it it’s HEAVY! I do love Milwaukee though. Especially their right angle impact ratchet. Get you one! You will love it too.

Made in China doesnt mean it's bad. It used to be but now they make extremely good stuff. I'd say its opposite for the usa now though. We used to make some great stuff but now it's mostly rubbish.

I am not a big fan of snap on due to high cost and poor warranty. For the cost Snap-on should have the best warranty but obviously when you give only two year warranty you sold them a two year tool.. you can also get the new one inch impact for those tuff jobs even that gun is under a grand bare tool. I am just glad we have the choice to go cordless in the old days battery life sucked and no where near the power. Thanks for sharing

Why don't you try the 1st Gen Milwaukee 3/8th ratchet, It has a smaller head. Obviously it doesn't have the fuels tq rating but that's why it's a ratchet and use your hand to brake but loose or a regular ratchet and then spin out the nut. Main reason I didn't get the fuel was because of its big head and it can't fit in many places.

I wish thier batteries were better. They're not very impact resistant. Try not to drop them. The standard chargers in their kits should be the rapid chargers instead of making us pay extra for them. The Makita line is bomb proof and come with a better faster charger off the bat. I wish they innovated more. The air impacts are still faster than the battery option if you're in a shop setting. The M12 line are quality of life luxuries which I can appreciate. I like the brand. I've invested heavily into their products but I feel they can do better.

Milwaukee seems to dominate the 1/2 impact cordless wrench with mechanics. Would be intetesting to compare them to the Xr 1/2 dewalt and the 1/2 Makita since they're all around the $400 range.

Man I just had my snap on guy try to sell me their new brushless 3/8 with a whopping 325 foot lbs of break away torque. In 2020? I didn’t know whether to be shocked or offended. I just looked at my Milwaukee midtorque and said naw man I’m good. The kit was 799 too with only a 2 year warranty 🤦

I've been following your channel for about two or three years now, and I thought you were a kind of Snap-on ambassador. When I saw that you started using Milwaukee I almost went back...The thing is, if you already have made a important invest in Snap-on products, is worth to invest for a all new Milwaukee equipment?

Personally I hate the Milwaukee M12 tools, i like the Milwaukee M18 tools, but I also like the Snap-on 18v and especially 14.4v stuff. I even really like the old Ni-Cad tools which i grew up with and can still get them rebuilt. I'll definitely end up getting the Snap on 18v tools, and still get Milwaukee 18v tools.

#1 thing that keeps me away from the snap-on truck... the 2x higher price tag for their tools... its outrageous when compared to Milwaukee tools and thats because i think Milwaukee is on the high side of cost .

Agree on all points. Milwaukee are well design and superior to vs most snap on electric except the snap on ratchet. It feel better in the hand and just plain faster. The Milwaukee is strong ratchet but its really not need because it's not a impact. Snap on ratchet from the brake,speed,feel, and just enough power not to bust bolts off. The really the only negative is the it's not brushless. Not going to lie but that fuel Milwaukee ratchet feel like a brick. I still like the snap on ct761 3/8 impact. I just wish it was stronger. It feel great in the hand also my favorite thing about it is the trigger. They need to improve power not design. Snap on 18 volt below average at best.

High quality tools make you more money

All my snap on cordless impacts have literally burned up from use they are junk…. I work on construction/heavy equipment and the snap on impacts never last more than 6 months! Not to mention they want to charge me 200 to replace each time
