Why I Got REJECTED from 8+ Animation Jobs 

Soooo true! I remember my feed always being filled with acceptances from classmates, which is great for them, but it would be great to hear more about some of the rejections too!

If you find a group of likeminded people you can work on your own group project and break in with other companies wanting to buy you out or break you up if you are any good. Anything you make on your own goes into your portfolio. I heard from some other animator that perspective and drawings in multiple styles is desired by companies as they want you able to draw what they put in front of you and not your unique art style, unless you come up with your own story idea that art style is meant for, your own private project. Most famous animators had their own story ideas, from Tim Burton Frankenweenie, Matt and Trey in South Park, even Family guy Seth McFarlin all had their private projects kick start their careers. You have to be determined to be productive. South Park was posted free online and went viral and when comedy central wanted to buy them some other people claimed the work, but Matt and Trey had all of the work to prove it was theirs. You can pop up from nowhere when you have originality. Keep at it. Make something about your country, what makes it unique to add to your portfolio. The world is hungry for originality. Write and draw your life. That was the secret of the greats. There is a huge opening, moment of opportunity, for you if you share your own unique life perspective.

Oh trust me amongst these 8 rejections, there were dozens of ghosted ones too! And since they were ghosted, I couldn't even find the emails or applications I sent in my inbox x'D

I think live action helps in understanding how people / characters are staged in a space and where to place cameras. It's the best way to practice composing shots in a realistic space, but i think the beauty of animation is being able to break out of those live action rules (like in spiderverse)

For the most part, yes, but I received recruiter information from friends or from portfolio day that I emailed as well!

Asking because alot of these sites seem to constantly lack showing real entry level positions, feels like most positions on sites are for more experienced workers...
