All the same thoughs here. I was waiting for a new GX for the last 3 years, and I was so sure that I am buying this 550, that I didn't even consider to buy 460 in december, when there were plenty of them everywhere and good discounts. Now, when I finally set my mind clearly to get the 23 460, they are almost all sold out with the color and options I am looking for.I feel myself as a last hour buyer )) You a correct when you said, that the new gx feels like it missing a soul with all the new bells and wistles and with these LCD panels instead of push buttons and real cluster it does look like any other mainstream cars. I am old fasioned man and buying things which are true and proven with time, this 23 GX460 is one of a fiew left dinosaurs which would make you enjoy every bit of owning this truck..except for a gas milage, but this is an extra cost I am willing to pay for the confidence and true craftsmanship.
I’m happy you did some research before going and then buying the new 550. I think you’ll be really happy with your purchase, even though the gas mileage may not be the best, I think you’ll have a reliable car for the next decade or so! Congratulations on your car !
we just bought a 23 GX premium with 11k miles, we wanted to look at the new GX, new land cruiser, and maybe the new tacoma. they had tacomas but none of the others but we decided to go for the 23 because of the good old reliable v8, who knows how the new ones will be, and we are definitely not risking buying the first year of a new design (always wait 1-2 years to see the common issues and fixes). our 2015 Land cruiser has treated us extremely great for the past 165k miles weve put on it so we knew we could trust this car and we will never get rid of it. We will have these two tanks forever, were definitely driving them till the wheels fall off lol. we also got some discount (depreciation) since its slightly used but its still basically brand new.
Coming from a high-tech turbocharged 2023 SUV, I decided to get a 2021 GX460 Luxury trim (with 15,000 miles) last November. Yeah, the GX 🦖 are gas guzzlers but their engineering reliability is legendary. Fun to drive and own for the rest of my remaining years in life. 😊 Tell us more about the upgrades and adventures you’ll be having with your 460. Thanks 🙏
I’m glad you test drove it before making a decision! There is something nice about the 570, knowing that it will last you a lifetime ! Enjoy your car my friend !
The GX500 is too generic looking I can't tell its a Lexus or a Toyota from the rear. Even resembles a Jeep from the back. I bought a GX460 in February for the V8 and I love it. I will wait for the next 550 after a few changes and they work out the bugs
Well said bro. I actually got onto the wait list for the 550, but decided last week to go with the 2023 460 luxury off road. Your thoughts are spot on! I think the 460's will be in high demand after a year of the 550's release.
I'm a few months away from paying off the 4Runner and I'm getting my Toyota V8 fix through a 1st Gen Sequoia and I could totally relate because it just has a solid feel to it commanding drive and I'm tempted I won't even look at a GX 460 because as close to I am to paying off my 5th gen 4Runner I could easily trade it and be able to afford the GX we started out as 4runner Buddies who knows maybe someday GX Buddies
IMO you wrong about tundra’s. The actually the last trucks of trucks. Everything else is soft. They are raw and true. Of course all the new stuff is 36 computer dependent which says something
Nah, I disagree. I still believe the GX 460 is better looking than the new GX 550. I don't like the boxy look and the bigger size. If I wanted a bigger truck I would have bought an LX. I'm not a fan of turbos either, give me a naturally aspirated V8 engine any day... they can keep the turbos and their complications. It's all about reliability and practicality. Don't sell me crap I will never use.
