It's still crazy to me that this deck works when there's so much exile removal and sacrifice removal in standard. I always brick on removal when I face this deck!

I play Solemnity in my deck, historic of course, and it completly shuts down the poisen deck. But I have to have it in my opening hand, otherwise it will be over on turn 4 (most of the time against that one here).

played this to like 150 mythic last season at about a 85% winrate below 1k, deck was really good at going under control, and had very reasonable matchups against most aggro decks. The mirrixes are really good against control, making a 1-2 1/1s every turn for the last point usually was enough to overwhelm u/w and sometimes the mono black stuff. Towards the end of the season the meta felt like it was shifting more towards aggro, so the easy wins vs control started drying up. In the comments on the no 1 post there's some updated decklists with better mana if anyone is looking to pick this up

the trick to winning with this deck is to run out your stuff as if your opponent doesn't have it, because 50% of the time they wont on turn 1 and then you win. There is zero coming back vs this deck

i feel like whoever made that original post with this deck and got to #1 Mythic had a crazy low starting MMR and were also insanely lucky. The mana base is horrendous and the cards are so individually weak its mind boggling they were so successful.

I've been stealing games from Gold to Mid plat all week with this deck, and last season I got diamond pretty easily. You'd be surprised how many wins it steals away from people that don't respect the Infect.

After the update yesterday, I noticed that decks with 25-26 lands were constantly getting mana screwed. I had hands where I had 3 mana on the battlefield and have nothing but mana costing 4+ in my hand. I had one game where mana was at 53% of the deck. When I should be drawing mana... I continued to draw high mana costing cards. It makes me really think that whatever the formula Wizards has for keeping decks at a certain win percentage is controlling the mana that we draw. They say in ranked, that matchmaking doesn't occur. I disagree... Play an all white control deck that runs exile all creatures under mana 3.

I noted down my mana/non-mana draws for my last 14 matches. I drew 103 lands for 107 non-lands, in a deck with 24 lands. I tried a 26 land deck, and it was bonkers, I had a 2 land 17 non-land match. Then a 3 land 14 non land, etc. There's definitely something wonky in the algorithm, because I get better mana draws in a 20 land deck than a 24+ one (and I still CONSTANTLY flooded with a 20 land deck.)

You as a mtga content creator with responsibilities should draw attention to wotc's ethics (which are non-existent), the fact that arena messes with a lot of peoples mental health (burnout/addiction) and the rigging. You have such a big influence and your statements have a lot of impact on the community (since you're the most popular mtga youtuber). If you really care about the community you'd take the courage and address these issues.

CGB, I understand you don't like the deck because of it's origins. However, you also can't be complain and half-butt trying to pilot the deck and just call it bad. It's obviously good.
