Why I HATE Screen Protectors! 

😂 we're in 2018 and came around here to check if I'm the only one who hates screen protectors, tried'em all, and found you, dude, you made my day... 👍

I damaged my screen protector when I tried to reapply it. 20 bucks down the toilet. I'm done with this crap

You only get 1 lucky chance to put it on. Once u take it off and on again, it’s ruined.

I constantly stress about micro-scratches & cracks when I buy a new phone but I absolutely hate screen protectors so for me the pros outweigh the cons. I prefer to enjoy the screen the way it’s meant to look so I just go bare screen & baby my phone as best I can.

After 2 years the phone is worth only 30% of what it was worth when you got it anyways. No point in a screen protector. You paid thousands, why not enjoy the real phone.

I despise screen protectors too. Aside from the cracks, most tempered glass or screen protectors or whatever, doesn't fit perfectly. I prefer bare screen.

I agree! It makes the phone less enjoyable with a screen protector. You basically cover up a beautiful design and you can’t enjoy it until the last few days before you sell it. My point is why buy a beautiful phone if you’re going to cover it up.

The only reason I have one is because when I resell it I want it to look brand new so it has more value

I bought a new tablet but when i draw on it the lines are cut off like this ------- --- -- - ------- - --- becuz the screen protector is a little thick and i ask my sis can i peel off the screen protector? And she said no. Becuz the screen protector protects the glass screen from scrach or something else, but i dont like the screen protector..... uughh

Used to have Samsung but never drop or crack my screens for many years. I got iPhone 6s Plus and should I get screen protector cause I learn this phone is strong.

I don't use it cause touching response and the movement of your fingers on screen is way better and smoother 👌

I think the glass screen protector would have looked better on a 5s cause it doesn't have a rounded screen. I don't really have a problem with them unless they don't look or work right like in your case.

In general, will a screen protector effect display quality? I have a gizmo gadget glass protector on my new lg g7 and I'm having both glare issues and color issues. I'm not sure if it is the phone or the protector. I think I will take it off and see if it looks better. Just wondered in general if protectors effected display quality.

I feel you. I installed a screen protector that required an adhesive spray onto my moto x 2014 and it was a pain in the ass to install. Once i got it installed correctly it looked like crap. I then proceeded to put on my case, and the case just pushed the screen protector up on the edges, causing it to peel. I will never use a screen protector.

It just depends if you get it right the first time, if you don't well.... tough..

Look I dont need it but when I use a phone with a gorilla glass 5 it scratches somehow I dont even have fingernails

Just buy one and get it installed at apple store, it’s actually fairly inexpensive and they do it near perfect with little hassle for u. (U have to buy the screen protector from the apple store)

i had particles under my screen protector stuck to it so i got tape and took them out of works and looks way better now no particles anymore just gotta be really careful

I failed to install it on mine it wouldn't line up right around the notch on my i phone 10 so i kept taking it off left residue now it's useless now in the trash.

I️ had no problems with my screen protector on my I️ phone 5c but then once I️ got the 6 the protector didn’t go all the way to the end and so the crack just went right under the protector

When your phone has a screen protector when the screen protector gets scratched and all beat up it makes your phone look uuuugggggglllllyyyyy as hell

I have never cracked a phone, I am extremely careful with all the phones I’ve owned, and probably have only dropped it a couple times. I always put a case on my phone, but never a screen protector, until I got my iPhone X. I’m not exactly sure what happened, but I started to notice I was getting micro scratches all over my display, like a lot, for no apparent reason, so I just put a screen protector on today, kind of annoying, but I had to. if I want a pristine screen again, I have to pay $400+ for a screen replacement

I had an iPhone 6 Plus for four years and used it without a screen protector all that time. It was in pristine condition when I traded it for an iPhone XR a couple days ago! Nothing you put on your screen is going to give you the buttery smooth experience of the naked screen and these screens are getting even tougher! BTW, the best reason to not tell the dealer the screen was cracked when you got it is because that would be a lie. Integrity matters!

No offense, but you people are really picky! Just be thankful your phones work well! Dust, fingerprints, scratches, and dents happen!

I only use a tempered glass protector because I don't want scratches. Also I've never had problems with applying. Maybe you just suck at applying screen protectors.

Just tried to put one on my iPhone first of all it’s so annoying to try to get straight but once I finally got it on straight I noticed a tiny piece of dust that was making a bubble on it so I took it off but I couldn’t get the dust off and eventually the screen protector ended up getting more dust on it so at the that point it was ruined it was a tempered glass one so when I bent it it cracked and was very loud and satisfying but yea I’m never buying a screen protector again

I bought one of these things for my tablet and I didn't like it there were bubbles all around the surface of my tablet , and the screen always was looking dirty, I decided to took it off and now it looks cleaner , and even dough it might get some scratches with the pass of time, I rather keep it this way, at least now it doesn't look that dirty

I've got a s6 edge and guess what? The adhesive came away in the edge and dust got between the screen and the protector and it scratched underneath. Seriously wtf was the point?

I can't wait until sapphire is on all iPhone displays being able to use my phone without a screen protector and not having to worry about scratches will be awesome👍🏻👍🏻

I know it about phones but can I tell you all about Nintendo Switch OLED. I boughta Splatoon case that came screen protectors. I'm no good at put it on and if i did, I'll mess it up and get sweety. I been trying to find a professional person to do it but, none so far. I went Harvey Norman Store. They do screen protectors but they use their one and not ones you buy. Their one is $69.99 for them to put one on. I not sure what I'm going to do? I wonder if I just should use my Nintendo Switch OLED without a Screen protector?

Screen protectors are a pain to install yourself, everyone hates it. But at the end of the day, screen protectors are designed to protect your phone. If you want your phone to stay in a pristine condition so you can sell it for more, get a screen protector and DON'T install it yourself. Buy one from those phone case stores in shopping centers. They are professionals and know how to install them without any problems. It might be a little bit extra $$ but your paying for a quality screen protector and the installation of it. It's worth a little more to save you all that frustration and a broken screen. Sincerely, A phone case store employee :)

I had a glass one on my HTC and cracked the balls out of it and I kept using it until I had completely shattered it. Best purchase I ever made. The iPhone screen protectors look horrible due to the rounded edge.

I put it on and it was perfect.... except for a piece of glass on the front camera. In the end, I gave up trying to put it on and smashed it. Then threw it off the twentieth level of my apartment.

I just pulled my screen protector off two days ago. This phone feels much slicker without that plastic fingerprint covered protector.

I have not had an issue with mine, and the fact it doesn't cover the whole screen is something I had to get used to. My phone would get too scratched up in my pocket if I didn't have one.

I have a switch and I have to replace the screen protector soon and there's a lot a cracks and air bubbles

The case with edges protect the screen in 90% of cases in normal life, it's not really necessary a screen protector. Screen protectors are a business, especially when modern smartphones have great protection by default and people decide to spend more money to protect the original protection... And I scratch a little by my screen trying to install the screen protector... yeahh I'm not good with this, but I've seen professionals installing screen protectors every day and they have several problems even with a great experience after many years....

I agree 200 percent I just got the Samsung a50 and the screen protector has black outline on the edge all around and it covers part of the screen and its just irritating and stupid

I stopped using screen protectors because mine will always bubble up after a few months and get hard to use

Use Tempered Glass Screen Protector is notmake your smarthphone ugly and its strong 4X than normal screen protector,im use it for 6Months and my phone not crack and scratched,and i test smash the tempered and not break,anyway the tempered is strong and very transparent

Can you imagine buying a brand new car and covering the whole thing in a rubber skin and sticking tempered glass all over the windows? Portable devices get scratched up. My Fitbit has taken a pounding. My wireless earbuds have some scuffs. My wallet is tattered up. My shoes have marks and wear. My skin has some sun damage. You get what I’m saying? If you are really worried about dropping your phone or it breaking don’t spend $1000 on it. I buy a 2-3 year old refurbished phone every couple of years for around $250-300. No case or screen protector. I do however have a leather pouch I keep it in when it’s in my bag/pocket. But when I’m using it I like my phone like I like my women……naked.

I totally agree! I just took off the screen “protector” I was trying to install. Easing up the edges to try and get rid of large bubbles, and the thing cracked all the way along the length of the iPad. I threw it in the bin. I will never buy another because 1. If it breaks so easily, it can scratch just as easily. 2. If it breaks so easily, it can’t protect from impact damage. 3. So what on earth is it protecting?

I kinda agree because when you have a screen protector it doesn’t look like itself because it makes the home button look like it goes into the phone, but still you should get it on a iPhone6 ,6s or 6plus because it’s the only year APPLE had a phone bending and easy cracking problem. If you wanna know true pain with screen protectors get an otter box with the plastic on the home button and screen Like if you have an otter box🤯

I just bought $20 screen protector. And then after I applied, it has some hairs behind it. So, I take off the screen protector. And yeah! I hate thay too! My iPhone looks great without it!

I'd rather have my phone screen scratched up?, and it's only $70 dollars to replace your screen (at Apple)? Sounds very ILLOGICAL and Unreasonable. Its like saying that having a Permanent scratch on your actual screen, isn't a big deal, when in fact, its an eyesore. And spending another $70 dollars instead of just getting a good and "affordable" Tampered Glass screen to protect your own screen is so much cheaper, and a No Brainer.

My screen is when i fucking Move the Movement screen it just stops automatically and i just want to break it

I'm hopeless at applying Screen Protectors, but have always been wary about not having one on the phone. I've had them "professionally" fitted, but even then, there's usually one annoying piece of dust that just draws your eye to it, or a bubble that just won't go away! :O) I have Apple Care, so am totally tempted to just go naked! :O) BTW, I like the look of the case on your phone. Could you let me know which one it is please?

I have a samsung phone but I bought a screen protector, and I realised am not a screen protector person they reduce the real estate of the screen and HONESTLY they feel awful

Same I do not like scream protectors either the best protection is having a good quality case that’s non-slick

i freakin hate screen protectors man! they just make our phones ugly and what not! the display looks shit, the front camera picture quality looks shit (if the screen protector is on the camera). And those bubbles on the screen protector gives me freakin OCD i just feel like peeling off the protector if i see bubbles on it

I don't know your budget but if I paid $17 dollars for a screen protector, I would CERTAINLY get a replacement haha. For me, that's a game on steam, two to three meals, etc. But I understand if the gas and city craziness would be worse. BTW, I loved the "going out is NOT something I do"

I agree with the others. I know screen protectors are basically worth it, but it turned out to be bad. Why they can't improve their material in such a damn model? I brought my screen protector for my iPhone 6 Plus, it became very useless and I wasted $7 for that piece of crap. I was thinking about that screen protectors are uniquely bad.

I got a tempered glass screen protector for my Note 3, and within 2 minutes it got all messed up. I just go without screen protectors now. I just keep anything that could scratch my phone out of my phone pocket. Also If I spent 17 dollars on that to have it break, I dont care if I live in the Seattle-Tacoma Metroplex, Im taking that back and getting my money back. Because too me thats alot of money to lose over a piece of glass and adhesive.

I hate them too. I just bought one for $30 and it's still shit. Dust all over the place. Now my brand new phone looks like shit because the fucking protector sucks ass. I'm waiting for zagg to send me a new one. I hate them, there the bane of my existence.

I hate them as well. Never could get them to look right! If your screen loses it slippery feeling! Clean it with Alcohol & put Rainx on it and it will be good as new

I got my iPhone 6 with a screen protector as well and I placed it on the screen perfectly. That lasted about 24 hours because I woke up the next morning and noticed a small hair wedged under the screen protector and it made it look as if the screen was chipped on the side. So I pulled it up to get the hair out and placed it down and applied pressure. But then it gave me a bubble and it wouldn't go away and I tried for about 5 minutes to get the bubble out and I said to hell with it and pulled it off broke it into small pieces and threw it away. If your screen protector is going to get hairs and give you bubbles and make your phone look like shit then what's the point of a screen protector? It's supposed to protect the screen yeah but if it makes your screen look cracked then what's the difference of it actually being cracked. Screen protectors are dumb

I hate tempered glass screen protector or because I'm not comfortable using it and if I touch the sides it's not really good and i have a screen protector now on my phone and I really really hate it is really stress full it made the screen thick and sorry for you guys hate this comment🤧 Just be Compassionate

i removed it after i watched!. really. my phone looks more uglier.. the only thing. just never drop it. I have an A5 2016 and never dropped it for how many years..

The other day I got a screen protector for my new phone incase it breaks. I already had a popsocket and a case and I thought a screen protector would be good. I go to a store and get a 10 dollar glass screen protector on the box it said you could remove and replace it a bunch of times. But I didn't want to risk it so I asked a PROFESSIONAL to put it on for me. He put it on TERRIBLY and there were a couple billion bubbles. I asked the guy if he could get rid of them and he said that they would fade away in the morning. I woke up and the were STILL there. I wasn't patient and removed and replaced it. But it was my first time doing it and I messed up. So I did it again and moved it because the box said I could. So I moved it and it was placed correctly but for some reason the was a continuous bubble along both side of the screen and a COLLOSAL bubble and I tried pressing them out and they wouldn't go. They were there to stay. So after a couple of days trying to fix it, I just threw it out. 10 dollars down the drain

I did the same, it costed 20€... and I got angry and destroyed my apple silicone case. But I’ll buy a screen protector again and apply it in the store for extra 5€. The only reason I need it is because I can use my phone more comfortable without being careful

Why don’t you just drive to the store... And get an employee to do it so if they mess it up they have to refund you lol, just get the mobile store to do it.

I can certainly understand your frustration. Personally, I have never used an iPhone without one, going all the way back to the first generation. Installation and dust removal still tend to be the biggest barriers to adoption.

I fucking hate screen protectors, they are so shit. I recently got a screen protector and put it on. And those fucking bubbles appeared and I tried to get rid of them. And it made it worse so I gave up and fucking got like 10 pounds wasted.

never used a screen protector on my note 3, and after 1 year of use, only sign of wear is 1 hairline scratch on the bezel about half a centimeter long dont need that shit
