My daughter announced to me way back in the 80s when she was 9 years old that she decided she is not a Christian. I said, Oh? What are you then? She said she is a Jesustain and explained to me why. I was amazed at her wisdom since I never influenced her one way or the other because I was involved with one religion at the time. My own mom told me at that time, that I will end up non denominational like her some day. She knew me better than i knew myself back then. I Miss my mama!

All very true. I'm also having my own awakening and paradigm shift. Being raised Baptist, introduced to the full gospel doctrine, licensed to preach with the assembly of God, trained and schooled at Jimmy swaggart Bible college, in the ministry for 25 years, preached the gospel all over African, India, central and North America, driven by the awful fear of the lost going to hell if I didn't somehow warn them. It was a horrible and amazing journey at the same time. My theology began to enslave me to a belief system that as I got older just began to be dismantled by obvious observance and just common sense. I was terrified to offend God by giving myself to these questions. I noticed how organized religion had divided, confused, and in some ways turned everyone that had a different view on each other. Once a person is convinced God is leading them it is almost impossible to change them. I find Christian universalism is beginning to answer so many of my questions I have struggled with for many years. Thank you for sharing your story

Good for you!! 🥰 I did the same thing. I’m LDS and have gone to multiple churches growing up from every denomination and although I feel closest to God in the LDS church, and although I consider myself a Christian, I left Christianity and Mormonism to follow Jesus. I am still a member of the church, but no longer attend sacrement meetings because there’s too many do’s and don’ts. I no longer go to church either. I study my bible and Book of Mormon and Joyce Meyer and Joel Osteen and Max Lucado and Paula White. I worship my own way on faith through Jesus Christ alone and obey the gospel. Unfortunately I have been rejected and condemned by Mormons and Christians alike for following faith my own way and blessing my own sacrement but it’s totally worth it. My God is love and equality. He is truth. If I go to hell because of my religious preferences or beliefs, then the God of the Bible wasn’t the God I worship because the biblical God and the God of the Book of Mormon is love. I’m to the point I don’t care who judges me anymore. I’m just done with religious people. I do my best to follow Christ and if my best isn’t enough at least I lived a good life. Jesus died for me and that’s all that matters. By his blood we are healed. Thank you so much for posting this. God bless you sweetheart!!

I'm so sorry to hear of the rejection you have experienced. You are not alone, even if it feels that way. We are in that strange place in between accepted ways of thinking - trust me, I can relate! But it's the best place, because we are free to think for ourselves and follow the Spirit. Thank you for sharing your story with me, friend! ~Blessings

My belief is different but your video spoke to me at a very deep level. I recently deliberately started trying to think of everyone I see most especially the least, the homeless, the immigrant, the low income mom, the crippled and so forth as God. To me, anyone who does this whether a follower of Jesus or some other path, is doing the most Divine work. So the section about "driving past Jesus muddy..." tears came to my eyes. Thank you for your profound testimony.

All I can think to say is AMEN! Melissa you are truly speaking directly from the heart of God. I support you 100% and I'm so proud of you to speak the truth knowing what may come against you because of it. The difference I see in you is your words are so drenched in God's Love and I believe that anyone who listens to you, even though they may vehemently disagree, they are just as loved by God as the next person, and they too may come to see the truth of your words. Every time I hear one of your videos I'm so thankful for your calling and determination to spread the Love. Blessing and more blessings be upon you. ❤

Prayers and blessings for you and all our relations. I got down on my knees in 1968 and told Jesus I was going to stop calling myself a Christian because I no longer could believe what the church taught and did. I made lots of mistakes but he never left me. With his help I've kept following his lead as best I can. It's been a blessed life, not easy but good way more than anyone could expect. Your videos, that I just discovered, are a big encouragement and reminder. The first song I learned was "Jesus loves the little children/all the children of the world/red and yellow, black and white/all are precious in his sight." That was in 1948 and it is still true and for adults too. You and all our brothers and sisters are precious in his sight. I think it was in Antioch that they started that name Christian. It's so tarnished now that active evidence of true repentance is the only thing that might save it. My heart hurts for those people who love and are trying to follow Jesus who get lumped in with so called Christians. I never heard of Christian Universilaist before but maybe I should check it out. Anyway I pray for you that you get what you need so you can keep on being of help.

There is no doubt in my mind, you were put on this planet to be brought up in the Christian system to eventually break out of it and teach people the true way of Christ, the mystical way. You are doing a phenomenal job, you bring an understanding to the table that extends far beyond the mind and comes right from the heart. Thank you tremendously for your service ❤️

Did I miss your opinion on ABORTION? I would love for you to share on that real subject. I had a personal experience with someone I had once loved going through the torment or thinking there was a choice to make it all go away (the father abandon her immediately upon knowing she was pregnant). She called me daily in duress with many people encouraging her to take the action of ending her baby's life (even her own mother). I listened, advised and constantly told her I would never approve, but I would not condemn as I explained the wonderous joy she had waiting for her in a few months if she just embraced the miracle in her belly. I felt like I was battling darkness daily in trying to save the baby's life and her sanity (now and the future). She chose life and tells me daily now about her daughter who kicks her belly and her excitement at what is to come. It was a dark period for 2 months while she was in turmoil and now I feel the light of GOD is shining in her. Your thoughts as you are very willing to take on just about ALL subjects. Thank you.

Thanks for this! Wholesome, loving, happy people, do not come from a belief in cruelty based teaching. The wise ones eventually figure out the only way to heal themselves and others is to break that cycle. It takes immense courage to stand up for what is logical and right in the face of twisted leadership and their teachings of cruelty, division, and judgment. 'You will know them by their fruits' indeed.

Wow Melissa...I couldn't say enough about how much I am happy you made this video, specially because for those who consider themselves "conservative evangelical" your physical appearance make you seems (in their minds) one of them, but you DEFINITIVELY are not! So, I am extremely happy that someone that look like you, talk these things that we all need to hear, think and talk about it. I am positive that all what you said, wont have the same impact if it came out from my mouth as a Latino in USA or if a black person say it. WOW. Melissa, this is SOOO good. I must have missed this when you put it out, but RU-vid recommended it to me. So glad I watched it. This is where my thoughts have been for the past few months. I think the judgement the evangelical conservative church fears is actually due to their own sins, rather than the "sins" they claim are coming from oppressed groups. Log in the eye tryna pick out a speck.

I too, am a follower of the teachings of Jesus as Christ. These two commandments, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." and "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." are key if fully understood. If you love your neighbor AS yourself. That means you will never judge another different from yourself. We are one in Christ, and all else is an illusion. Heaven and hell are both within us by the choices we make toward union with God or to be separate from God. I fully agree we are becoming more tolerant, loving, and kind in this world. Historically, we have, over thousands of years, taken three steps forward and two steps back. With the news and social media, it may not seem that way, but you only have to associate with your neighbors from all walks of life to see that the majority are not representative of the hate that seems to dominate.

Dear Robert Jones...Melissa clearly makes the distinction of clarifying she is a “CHRISTIAN” Universalist. Because she is adamant that there is only one way to the Father and that is by Yeshua, just as Yeshua declared. Otherwise that would be denying Jesus death on the cross which was and is the greatest sacrifice to mankind the world has ever known.

Hi Melissa, I enjoy your channel. I have a question, not specific to this video but more to your journey and understanding. I like you have deconstructed although i started back in the early 2000s before there was a cool term for it. Also like you I have disassociated from the main line church, but remain close to Jesus, and like you I enjoy listening to NDE accounts, and have read and listened to many many over the years. I believe if I understand you from listening to you vids you still hold the Bible to be authoritative (minus the translation errors) but question mans interpretation in many cases, is my understanding correct? If so Im sure you've read the Psalms, heres where my conundrum comes in. Like David I consider myself a man after Gods own heart (although the Father will be the ultimate Judge of that) also like David I have a very close and personal relationship with the father (Jesus and the Holy Spirit are included in that relationship) Listening to NDEs , some experiencers in fact many describe what sounds like God as "the oneness or the brightest light or the highest vibration or the spiritual source or something along those lines. Even though almost without exception they mention the indescribable feeling of Love and acceptance it seems a little detached from his personality. In my experience and the psalms (if they are to be believed) God has things he likes, things he love and delights in, and things that make him upset and even angry. I remember listening to one of your interviews (I don't remember which) where the person was saying that the great source or what ever term she used was so vast and benevolent that he could get upset. She also talked about how we and other souls carefully plan out our experience here based on what we want to learn or experience and that the great source doesn't get involved or intervene. I know he has been less than thrilled with me before and expected a change of heart, and he for sure was mad at David when he slept with Bathsheba and had her husband Uriah killed to cover it up, he even let David pick the punishment. So my question for you is this, how do you as a follower of Jesus reconcile the NDE predominate version where we are just having experiences, not really good or bad just experiences and God is less involved vs the more Biblical and experiential God who is intimately involved and has likes and dislikes and an enemy? P.S I am also NOT a believer in eternal conscience torment P.S.S. Please know there is zero snark or judgement or condensation intended in this post just a sincere question for greater understanding. Be Blessed

Christianity: we must tell people about Christ so that they can make a choice. This set of videos: doing it the way Christ may have actually intended. This is game changing, and it’s what I myself have believed all along, but it’s also what my Christian friends and family think of as heretical.

PS. To the surprise of some, “Christ” is not Jesus’ last name (surname). “Christ” comes from the Greek word Christos, meaning “anointed one” or “chosen one.” This is the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word Mashiach, or “Messiah.” “Jesus” is the Lord’s human name given to Mary by the angel Gabriel (Luke 1:31). “Christ” is His title, signifying Jesus was sent from God to be a King and Deliverer (see Daniel 9:25; Isaiah 32:1). “Jesus Christ” means “Jesus the Messiah” or “Jesus the Anointed One.” Jesus the Christ.

I think none of us are born into the world wanting problems & darkness. I agree Melissa, and my suggestion to everyone is to look at everyone as a potential angel, which requires insight & a burning desire for mental health rather than judgment & discernment alone. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage,-----but are like angels in heaven." (Matt 22-30) We cannot have insight into others when we lack insight & compassion for ourselves as a result of mental thinking disorders. "The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear (you have healed your own mental issues of trauma etc.),-----your whole body will be full of light." (Matt6: 22-23) The theory of making America great has increased the doctrine of "truth relativism", and its fruit of darkness. Truth relativism is the doctrine that there are no absolute truths! Yet Christ said "I am the Truth, the life, the way." America has gone astray because it is more convenient & profitable money wise,--- for the wealthy in charge to deny the truth.

The most egregious mixing of politics and religion I ever saw was when yearbooks of "Christian schools" always had the American flag plastered on the cover of them. The other thing I saw was Bibles with the Declaration of Independence on one inside cover, and the Bill of Rights in the other; as if patriotism and faith were mutually inclusive.

I'm so happy that all my beloved white sisters aren't nationalist. I was so surprised when I saw people I fellowship with rise up and support a man who's slogan was America only. People who were against America being a safe haven for those who were being persecuted in their own country. It was so confusing to me. Because I believed these people were motivated by love, not self serving nationalism, that has a me first message built in. It made me feel like I was fellowshippin with people who felt God was only interested and operating in America. This country belongs to generation after generation, don't these people know they will die one day and stand before a God of love not nation.

The fact of the matter ,that Even after nearly 2,000 years of its existence, and centuries of investigation by biblical scholars, we still don’t know with certainty who wrote its various texts, when they were written or under what circumstances. Also, the Trinity is nowhere taught in Scripture, it is only superimposed upon Scripture from later Christian thinkers who were highly influenced by Greek philosophy.

I agree with this video, I've said this for years, christianity is a man made religion created by Constantine who dragged the messiah into that man made religion. yes there are some genuine believers in that religion, but so called christianity appears nowhere in scripture. And, christian is a label that the people were calling the SAINTS in Antioch who were primarily gentile. however they didn't call each other christian in the scriptures, they called each other saints all throughout the scriptures. the jewish believers in Judea were called nazarenes Acts 24:5 which was a title given by the prophets Mathew 2:23 meaning branch and branches. the gentiles adopted the term Christian way later, but saints/hagios/kodeshim over all is the term agreed romans 1:7. the name of the biblical new covenant faith is NOT called christianity, its called Haderekh which is the Hebrew for THE WAY. the saints were followers of THE WAY all through the book of Acts. in our ministry we are followers of Haderekh (the way) who is Mashiach/messiah/christ himself. `Yohannan/ John 14:6. We use Hebrew name for our messiah and saviour, Yehoshua Ha Mashiach ha Nastari translated directly into English is JOSHUA THE CHRIST THE NAZARENE. some say Yeshua which is Aramaic, Jesus is latin brought over into English but directly from Hebrew its JOSHUA. we are UK based but are a worldwide ministry of jewish saints (Nazarenes) "messianic" and Gentile "messianic" saints who are grafted into the olive tree. Christmas and easter are Pagan and we have nothing to do with them neither. please subscribe check out our videos and share this ministry. Shalom Aleichem. please see our video Jesus actual name in Hebrew.

Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience' sake. (Romans 13:1-5)

Let me just say first that I like you. I just want to respectfully debate on some things. We need to have more respectful debate. The idea of American first is not at the expense of other countries. Other countries actually benefit the most when the American economy is strong. Now we are seeing the economy weaken with Biden in power. That is bad for the whole world. Also does American citizenship mean nothing? Can anyone in the world come here and stake their claim to American citizenship? I would like to live in another country however I can't just show up there and claim citizenship illegally that's not how it works. I am only a legal citizen of the USA. There are ways to become a citizen legally however nobody will go that route if the borders are wide open and there is no punishment for illegal immigration. Mexico is not going to give me citizenship to their country and that is understandable.

Personally this was far too philosophically liberal and theologically liberal for my liking, while as many of the political stances hold merit however I think some of the general points you made have too many factors that you didn't talk about to convince any thoughtful conservative thinker like myself I actually was quite peeved by many of your stances on issues to be quite frank If you critically examine all that you said internally in this video a few times over you might catch on to some errors, contradictions and over-simplifications You even contradicted many of the positions you've made in other videos as well I'm saying this as a friend, I really mean these words as constructive feedback Being clear to you I do many of the things you think are good solutions anyway but I reserve giving handouts to able bodied people more often than not I really don't think I need to explain why, but I'm willing to hash out anything with you if you want to coverse more deeply Yesterday when I tried watching I got 3/4ths through and found myself writing pages of disagreements and educational matter, I'm really that passionate over these social issues as I can relate with all sides of these dispositions I am not posting those into here until I'm done, it'll take a long time because I want source material so that you know what I'm talking about To be clear I am not a voter nor believe in b Trump, nor do I hate him or voters Not only the US but every country (which are made up, socially constructed) has a long line of sins behind them, nothing is great in this fallen world when taken in whole, just parts Remember my telling you about the doctrine? 'The Natures Principle of Partiality'? Philosophically and theologically I'm conservative, I can define what I mean by that again if you're unsure.. In politics it's different I'm politically moderate over all, with many more values on the right wing and political conservatism as well (not the same ideologies) , but I have many politically liberal views just the same but I'm very little on the left for its insanity and tendency towards totalitarianism Given my experiences and autodidactic education I feel I have a unique perspective, indeed like every other individual, and many of the insights take plenty of time to explain which I see being a barrier for all parties willing to learn from me and the resources I could scrounge up for them to research You should know I'm an individualist, I felt like you were speaking in a very collectivistic linguistics style and that didn't resonate very much with me Another thing is I at this point have neurolinguistically reprogrammed my mind out of social conditioning to think as often in terms that were given to English speakers from cultural marxists I have expanded my awareness to know the many contexts of objects and the many contexts of subjects and how those different contexts relate or compare I am an avid opposition to racism in its various contexts, most basically racism is prescribing that the human race (which scientifically and objectively is one race) is multiple races and other contexts augment supremacistic notions upon that You have to perceive the defined differences to add hate in this case There's no "black" people or "white" people or "Latin" people in my vocabulary, although I'm aware many people think in those terms, but I do my best not to acquiesce to perpetuating such language I agree that lov moves people to good deeds, but our nature isn't totally good until Yeshua comes and totally remakes it all The biggest error I believe you're making through out the video was that you we're being too monistic or perhaps pantheistic, I'm a 'weak panentheist' meaning I believe we're identified in Christ but still separate agents of our own accord We can talk nuances of monism, non-duality, unitarianism, pluralism, the perennial philosophy, etc. versus unity, community, panentheism and dualistic views, etc. Being up front I don't believe that since God's in control, as a separate person, that sustainability is an issue because even if humans were capable of total destruction it's still Christ's will and He's capable of restoring all Many things you said I can get behind, but impressionable people can and will get very faulty passions out of many assertions you've made here in the video This will cause separations to be perceived where there aren't any and vitriol toward a whole demographic that cannot be so easily generalized let alone associated with about 4 totally different philosophical columns (just because they can augment one another doesn't mean they're the same let alone that they even complement each other) Now you might not like the following and feel peeved the same way I felt watching and listening to your video here Still if you'd give it a chance, and I think if you're really meaningful to what you said; about considering more perspectives, you'll listen to the points of Bode Lang here in ther playlist I have linked below If you'll pick the meat from the bones so to speak Something to look out for: I especially like Thomas Sowell's points of view, he's in most clips at end of each video in Bode's series It covers philosophical liberalism in the first video and proceeds into politics after After all philosophy is primary before action, mentality is the cause of subjects making their effects ru-vid.com/group/PLvdVnUqSoyEQWL8KdUJdvW_SIFGz1h1j8

My views in this video may come across liberal to conservatives because I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of trying to legislate Christianity. I'm actually not a liberal or a conservative or anything in between- I don't believe government will save this nation. I believe we, the people, need to take responsibility for ourselves and each other. I take the stance of the early church that Christianity should be completely independent of military and politics. For instance - your point that you don't believe in giving free handouts. Conservatives and Liberals argue about whether the government should give free handouts, when in reality the government should not have to take care of the poor, orphans, foreigners, ect. There should be nothing left for the government to do, because the church should have it covered. I realize all of this sounds simplistic and idealistic, but no more so than any political agenda. It requires change on an individual level.

@@LoveCoveredLifePodcast But you see that's just the thing right there, government means protection and politics means decisions and economics Politics and governance isn't only institutional it's constitutional, constituted by the people, there's no government nor politics without thinking people The left at the farthest believes "property is theft" The right at the farthest believes "taxation is theft" While left versus right wing and conservative versus liberal are objective, in the way of their effects even if they're ideologies to start with, the ideologies in fact were defined by witnessing behaviors of persons and a sense of justice These are fundamental decisions we're making if we're aware of them or not and they guide an individual's notions of justice and what they believe is a just system And as long as economics is counted in digital debt numbers we're never going to afford taking care of all the poor, disabled and needy ( Believe me when I'm telling you I think world hunger is possible in being ended at least in the food can be even more abundant, however I can't say that for certain, one of my liberal beliefs there : me over here for the last 12 years coming up with strategies, well written proposals and hopeful systemic solutions [not total solutions] ) If one has the time to try to educate they must know the recipient student may choose at anytime to not be committed, but the vestige goes : teach a person to fish may help them for their whole lives Still idealistic world changes are not able to be dealt with all at once, quick enough, with absolute efficiency, etc. There's likely not going to be enough educated, passionate and patient enough people able to organize to generally solve even 2 of the 5 main problems of the world Especially the core followers of Christ aren't a big enough organization for even one of those issues to be generally solved Most people can't even attend their own children and spouses well enough, I think Jesus' teachings about being universally loving is the basic truth not acquiescing to every whim of a demand People take kindness for weakness and use others, abuse others and get robbed, this included me both directions! It's great when individuals have talent and skills and patience for people but we're under so many barriers This isn't negative thinking it's just pragmatism and experience talking right now Things aren't that simple.. The worst thing to do for an entitled and self absorbed needy type of person; who's just always complaining about minor or nonexistent oppression, is enabling them by gifting them things and listening to their complaining It's more detrimental for everybody! When have the complainers ever had so much power in history like this? Never before have people been able to complain so much about any contradictory situations to police morals, police thoughts/attitudes and police speech The abortion issue for example, little people gestating in wombs is in many ways undesirable but people right now have organized to say that we're not allowed to push back with anything, about making them legally recognized for the persons those little ones are, that we should just eat it when wanting to save their lives It's disgusting! That's policing the morals of me, to say I cannot assemble and show evidence in the way of them That is policing my rights to lobby, this is a growing trend in their thinking While I know that wanting the opposite is policing their actions, still I respect their entitlement to their opinions but their opinions are directly taking lives which is always unjust given my God given conscience so I don't omit it I know there are proxy positions affected by who I try to get in, everything's a tradeoff in our spheres Firm believer in freedom of expression here, as long as it's not harmful, extenuating others travels nor too disruptive to necessary business If you want to target this to any audience you're going to need to target the very fortunate with kinder language Making sweeping associations between Christian evangelicals, "whites", conservatives, etc. Remember this common correlations doesn't mean equalization nor does it mean causation You cannot in the same video logically make sense to talk about how Jesus would have you recognize who opposes you and your values and for you to only come back with lov and then marginalize them into sweeping categories and tell them they should abandon all of their programming that you don't like Some of the programming is wrong, again: MAGA, medical malpractice and the points about factory farms (I'd include mono-crops, pesticides, etc.) However I think it'd be wiser if you're going to instruct others to admit out right that it's your idealistic desires talking before ranting off half baked polity Or otherwise do more to get educated about the factors and speak conservatively about how sure it is that you think it'll bring good results, actions and consistency through time will prove systems to be more effective or less effective Theologically I've come to understand that there's a point to evil be necessary in this time as hard as it is, natural evils, people not being committed to repentance, etc. "The church" is an organization that's under other systems that are naturally flawed by sin, evil and corruption, etc. The best were going to arrive at is theories and tradeoffs, and we're only able to hope that we've done the best thing at our reach knowing we've likely failed I'm serious please watch the first few videos of the playlist at least, if you cannot watch the other videos What I'm saying is nobody can help but be political in world where needs of numbers must be met, temperature, caloric, taxes and bills, etc. I'm not saying this is Jesus' eschatological will for us to deal with forever, we're to deal with this for a time though To liv(e) is to know evil, to have liv(ed) is to know the devil, there's gematria everywhere cluing us into our predicament here Sadly this is the condition of being under the natures principle of partiality that idealism isn't reachable for humankind by their efforts Look the last thing I'll say for now is that you're speaking out of your awareness for our need for justice, that's a good thing, but your reiteration of the points you made in this video as a response comment tells me you're not searching your heart to identify the failures here I mean it! The people praising your bravery are under a bright and alluring demonic influence if they think they can run with this attitude and create holistic long lasting changes Please rethink this over a good many times, I have no expectations but I implore you to do so

You quote not one verse from the bible....I see the Hate and racism but no love or forgiveness. Have you ever read the bible? You say you follow Jesus....do you really? I can not find one place in the bible that describes anything you say not one place! Can't find conservatism or white race or racism....point out where our Lord speaks about such things?
