This just brought back so much for me, I used to get ready EVERY morning with Jackie playing the the background regardless if I saw the video already. I lost a big part of myself during the pandemic especially switching to full time remote and no longer needing to actually put myself together the way I used to. I told myself it’s time to get back to getting cute af in the morning, even though I’m not physically going anywhere. Jackie coming back is another piece added another piece to my bad b*tch puzzle!
Working from home is great, but there are drawbacks to it!! I feel like it can be very lonely, especially since my partner is out most of the day, and I’m just in a quiet house alone

I hate that anyone would have to justify needing time to recoup. Everyone needs time away. Period. Jackie works so hard all the time (to her point still putting out amazing content on other platforms) I think it’s only fair after hustling so damn hard to take a damn break. People are so freaking weird about this and I’ll never understand belittling people for needing time to just rest and relax.
I don’t understand when and where the culture of treating content creators like they aren’t people began. a lot of us, myself included, create content that is valuable, educational, and free. and then when deciding to take personal time off viewers will say we used them……based on what??😭 does your boss get to say the same thing to you when you take time off? I genuinely don’t get it and it’s very weird. And you’re right, I never stopped putting out content altogether, I just branched out and posted everywhere else. so this break was even more necessary and meaningful for me.

You might started with just that, but I’m here for your energy, your chats and thoughts about certain matters. Your videos are like a podcast with educational visuals for makeup. I just want you to know, you have helped me so much as a makeup artist, not only with technique, but being from a place with a mostly white population, black makeup to me was so scary, I was always worried I’d have someone come in that I didn’t have shades for, or know what undertones to go with. You taught me about black owned brands who I could support and buy products from that I knew would work cause Jackie said so 👏 and I felt more confident in my ability to be able to serve every skin tone❤️ I love you so much!! Your channel means a lot to me.

The crazy part is I’m into gaming and Cory Kenshin literally just spoke about the favoritism RU-vid has. Although these are two different genres of RU-vid it’s crazy how it’s still a issue
my autistic son watches Cory Kenshin. it's not crazy in my eyes cause there's so much taken from black creators in general. I hesitate with uploading on TikTok, sometimes RU-vid because why is a yt creator taking something from my content that I put a lot of effort into .I know some don't but it's frustrating
Try being a micro RU-vidr trying to find your way but there’s so many big name RU-vidrs you have to compete with, it’s almost like there not a fighting chance.
2 minutes in and I just wanna say, a struggle is a struggle. There is always someone that will have a bigger struggle than you, but that does not mean that what you deal with is not affecting you. It’s life and they’re different levels to everything. Thanks for sharing sis!

Just have to say, even if you hadnt worked nonstop for 13 years, you would still deserve a break. EVERYONE needs rest, and it shouldnt have to be "earned". Wanted to wait till the end of the video to comment, cos I love listening to you! I suffered a lot growing up, and have many a time, tried to make myself disappear.. the pandemic really added some more trauma and I kept wondering if there's any joy to be had. You remind me always, that there is more than enough joy to be had, despite all the pain. I've watched you for over 8 years now, and I'm only 22 but your content means soooo much to me as a young black woman, navigating this world and trying to give myself grace. Excited for what's to come, grateful for all that has, but mostly just proud. That's aimed at you and me and everyone else who has been on the struggle bus.

What's the point of having financial and creative freedom and then continuing to work in survival mode? Slowing down and actually enjoying the results of your hard work should be the goal. Normalize being happy where you are, more is not always better.
"It's ok to celebrate now and just be happy for people where they are." I told this exact same thing to a friend of mine that was complaining about his family member and he did not appreciate it one bit lol. The person was happy and healthy. Why can't that be enough, especially when it's not affecting you in any way?

AGREE! As a biracial content creator who has been uploading on RU-vid for more than a decade when I quit being a TV news reporter and started a channel… I have watched females with a certain “look” (in my opinion, pale and thin) blow up whereas I’ve just been stagnant and never grew. It’s definitely favoritism in the RU-vid algorithm and I also saw it in brand deals. Add to that set of challenges that I’m plus sized and it’s so frustrating!
I’m so happy you brought up how it feels to be on the receiving end of a comment where someone is asking why you don’t have more followers, or “you deserve more followers” 👏🏾 I’ve been going through this on my content creation journey as well and it’s so triggering for me. It really makes me feel more discouraged rather than being helpful, and I’m finally realizing this because of you verbalizing that. I burn out so quickly and that’s one of the most frequent comments I get. Thank you ❤️
I think when people say that they're just trying to be kind but it's kind of like when people say "you're not fat, you're beautiful". Like somebody can't be fat and beautiful. Somebody can make great content but not have a lot of followers. It doesn't mean anything about you or your content creation, so don't let it get you down.

Hi Jackie, you definitely hit the nail on the head. I’ve been on RU-vid for 12 year with over 600 videos. I haven’t made it to 6000 subscribers. I have work my butt off in the pass. Now I’m so drained for all the hard work I put in. I enjoy sharing my entertainment, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it. I’ve pray about it to God if I should continue creating content. Been a subscriber for a while now, but I have to admit that YES: 2020 totally changed my makeup up content consumption and I started to spend more time on tiktok and there I found you again and fell INLOVE with your luxury lifestyle content. It motivates me to redecorate my home, to start wearing perfume again, and much more! Don’t know what the future holds up for you content wise but I think the main thing is you have the type of personality many ppl like me just enjoy to watch :)

I will say that outside of your make up tutorials I thoroughly enjoy your channel during the holidays because of your decor videos.
