I am building my Wrangler out for the same reason. My husband took his own life April 16, 2023 at 47 years old. I just can't be in this city and this apartment anymore. I waited a year to make the decision so I knew that I wasn't making it ONLY out of grief. Lease is up here Sept 1 so that's my target date.

I'm 56, my husband passed away 5 month ago (cardiac arrest). We were married for 30 years and have traveled a lot. Our dream was to buy a cabin in Tennessee and move there to retire. We were actively looking for property and took several trips to TN. We would forever talk about sitting on our front porch, sipping coffee and enjoying the crisp autumn air. Everyone grieves differently. I don't think I ever want to go back to TN again or visit any of the other places we traveled to. The dreams we had died with him. My life is completely different now and I'm trying to focus on that and make the best of it. I'm a believer and I'm praying for you and everyone that has lost a loved one. You go girl!!!

This really resonates with me. My mom died last year after getting pneumonia and not being able to fight it off. I’ve never had a father, my grandparents and my cousin who was like my brother have passed away. I’ve got more family dead than alive and I’m only in my early 30’s. No kids, no husband. Just alone and drifting along aimlessly missing my best friend/mom. I’ve been so angry with the world and so confused why this happened and have no clue what to do now. Thank you for being so open and vulnerable. ❤

@@arethafranklin5694 I’m not sure about adopting a child right now as a single person. Maybe adopting a dog is a better option for now. 🙂 I’ve been looking at adult dogs that are up for adoption the last couple of days. I think having a pet will really help.

@@SuperJordan105agreed, adopting a child so you have something to do is not ideal. So sorry for the loss of your mum. I also have felt/ still feel angry at life as I was in an abusive relationship with someone who faced no consequences, doesn’t have to pay for his kids and who still lies about me to authorities 12 years after leaving him from hospital when my daughter came prematurely. I am fortunate to have two children single and aged 40 but I love my down time. Ive found Louise Hay’s books and affirmations helpful for trying to change my sad mindset that I learned from a sad childhood. I dont buy into all of the spiritual side but positive affirmations / meditation has science behind it for being good for the brain. I realised I was down on myself in my own head all the time, now I say ‘I am safe’ ‘things are working out for me’ etc when im stressed. I literally never thought positive things about myself before finding louise hay. There’s a website/ app you can join called ‘meetup’ that has local activities that people can go along to with other local people, all sorts from walks, cafe/ restaurant visits/ gigs/ free stuff too. Is a good way to connect to other people if you don’t like doing those sort of things alone. 30 is young🙂dont worry about husband etc, people probably looked at me when I was married and thought I had something I didnt. I know it’s hard though if a relationship is something you want. im wishing you all the best xox

@@AsMr-km6ex yeah a child is a huge responsibility. So is a puppy. 😂 I’ve always adopted dogs that are 2-3 years old that need rescuing. They’re so much calmer than a puppy, very sweet and potty trained. My last dog was a lab who I adopted at 2 and he lived to be 14. ❤️ oh I’ve heard of Louise Hay! I had a therapist a long time ago who told me about her. I’m going to go on Amazon now and get her book. Thank you for telling me about the app, I just moved to upstate New York from Texas 2 weeks ago and I need to make friends here.

Your dad and I use to have long discussions about the pros and cons of living a simple off the grid life or really just having some passive income to support a more simplified life. I can't say that we ever came to any conclusions. It was more about not wanting to get trapped. I'm challenging my memory to try and recall all those hours of crazy ideas! Some of those were centered around bike camping!

Alauna. You're awesome... I lost my Dad September 16th 2014. He was a doctor that served our community for 52 years but we learned with his passing he was a uncontrolled diabetic. He passed from a failed 5 way heart bypass from coronary artery disease. He was a very loving Dad, Husband of 50 years, friend of many, and a great Christian mentor. Praying for you as your heal from this... I can relate to your feelings.

I subscribed to you because I worried about you and wanted to help with your youtube channel and because I've lived in my car because of loss, too, and because I've said everything you've said about ya gotta live like your dying and cried over the same song .. I'm a 65yr old male and two years ago I discovered I was autistic .. autistic people often become psychologists and engineers .. I had an interest in psychology but became an mechanical engineer .. it took me 16 years and different directions and different colleges, married, divorced and tragedy and loss but I kept at it .. I finally made it .. I've moved and changed jobs, directions multiple times in my life .. I liked the jobs that were seasonal and had an end .. I discovered that now and then people fill the roles of the family you don't have, that you find family .. I've never had kids of my own but I've loved a lotta kids that were in my life .. thank you for sharing

I lost my mom when I was 15. I’m now 48 and still struggle with it. Along with growing up with the mentality that men don’t talk about their problems doesn’t make it any easier. When I go home to the small community that I’m from, I’m able to release any emotions and anger and feel at peace so I totally get it. Keep being you and do the things that make you happy. I love the channel and positive vibes.

❤ what a refreshingly honest video.❤️ I have found that most nomads are out here because of loss or trauma. I started traveling in my RV after losing two family members and my old dog, and after being hospitalized with Covid. I got out of the hospital and said this is it. I will not spend one more day around people I don’t like, won’t spend one more day doing things I don’t enjoy. I will ever more say what I want, do what I want and go where I want. You’re right, most people don’t get it…we are all dying. It’s time to live. And thank you for the trigger warning. I’m good now but for the first few years just the sight or sound of an ambulance would make me break down. Seeing a movie where a character has cancer would make me break down. It takes a lot of time to learn to deal with grief.

What a beautiful story! I feel like I live simply. I have 1 bedroom in a 3-bedroom apartment in a big city. I really like living like this. But there's always pressure from friends and family to get my own place. Live in a fancier apartment. I'm just not like that though. I don't care for that lifestyle. You're living true to your beliefs and it's really inspiring.

Thank you for your honesty and being open and vulnerable. You’re doing amazing! I lost my dad at 28 years old. I am now 31 years old. We took care of him the last 3 years of his life. Taking care of my sick dad was challenging, hard, emotional but also so very much rewarding. I was just so thankful every morning that he was still with us. Each day was a gift. I’ve sacrificed a lot those years in my social life and love life. Probably one of the reasons why im still single at 31… but looking back it was worth it. I can never get those moments back with him, his smile, his jokes, i miss him a lot. I live my life now more present than ever, and would think about how he always pushed me to have fun and was always proud of me for just being. What makes me me is giving, i’m a giving person. I love to give, that makes me happy. Also to myself. I don’t need a lot in life, my goal is to laugh every day. As long as i’m happy i’m good.

I knew that part of the reason she lived like this was likely a trauma response, but all I care about is that she is happy and well for all of her days. Is there a PayPal addy or PO Box?

Wonderful video. That tragic event led you to live life. I watched my dad work his butt off his entire life often working two or three jobs at the same time only to die an early age. I envy your life. Here I am tied down to payments on a house that I’ll probably never truly own due to my age. Kudos to you young lady. Carry on.

I have a whole ass psychology degree too and I don't use it whatsoever. That's so cool what you've decided to do with yours. It's actually funny that I got mine from a different U of A lol (University of Arkansas) I'm so sorry for your loss. I understand grief intimately.. I lost my husband at the age of 30 and it's changed my life forever. I don't regularly share that information but it makes sense why people like us who have experienced loss early in life end up being nomadic. We know life is so short, too short just to hang around watching Netflix all day. Your Dad would be so proud. I know I am proud of you, as an internet stranger that watched your channel when you barely had 1K subscribers, look at you and your RU-vid channel now.. well done! 💕

Gotta love those useful psychology degrees 🤪 Loosing a parent was difficult but I can’t even begin to imagine loosing my life partner so early on.. thank you for sharing that, it’s definitely a common theme with us nomads. I couldn’t tell you the last time I watched Netflix, life is too short and the world is too wide! Thanks for sticking around 🫶🏻 your username is very memorable haha I remember you were one of the few people in my house sitting livestream last August which reminds me, I should do another one of those haha

What inspires me to be myself is nature and music. It allows me to flow naturally without stopping to think about what other people think. This video made me tear up. No matter how hard it gets remember you're on the right path. ❤❤

This video makes so much sense to me. My dad died 11 days before my 12th birthday and my perspective on life and death is so different from many. People think it would make you want to indulge and have a lot but it makes you realize that things don’t matter. Only peace, love and joy are worth my time and money.

Living simple is cool. I am an outdoors person and I miss it. I have two smaller children, so it’s hard to go outdoors a lot where I live. My dad died in 2010 and it sucked. I loved him very much as well. He smoked himself to death and i was headed in the same direction as he and my mom. She isn’t doing well either, and honestly, the only thing that has been profound in my life is discovering God. I have only been a Christian for about 3-5 years, but it’s brought me so much peace and direction. I pray that you hear the gospel because it’s the Good News we all need. Thanks for sharing. 🙏🏻

I tell people that college is not a trade school! You go to learn critical thinking skills, not to come out with a job! Gone are the days of working a job for 25 years and getting a pension. I love that the younger generation sees that so clearly. I was the only person in my college friend group that had life goals less attached to the size of my wallet, but to the amount of stories and experiences I could collect. Some days I wish that I had focussed a little bit more on the money, but I also love that I have the time to do the things that are truly important to me. Keep living your life and thank you for taking us along for the ride.
