Hey man do you have a tear down of these shoes? Seems borderline hypocritical not to, given the channel’s content. Would love to see how they are madebuilt if you are recommending we buy them.
Nothing to do with this vid but just saw Nick Boots do $500 upgrade of Asian made Dr Martens kind of like what you did but with a lot more leather, top half Docs bottom Nicks. You should check vid out.
If it hasn’t already been mentioned in the comments, the 36s take design inspiration from the 6s. Each Jordan starting with the 31s has taken design inspirations from that shoe’s 30 year younger sibling.
@@Rhadoo89 also the lace cover on the tongue and the "spoiler" on the heel. The Air Jordan text on the inside of the tongue also matches the font used on the outside of the tongue on the VI Nice subtle touches without making it a straight copy
it would be interesting to see the bounce test with a pierced air unit to see how much the pressure of the air unit contributes to the rebound. especially with the units that have very little pressure in them compared to a unit like the 36's
If you want technology and a shoe that's futuristic, go back to the Jordan 33. It was without laces and had a tightening mechanism in the bottom. There's a thick rubber band strap on top where the laces were supposed to be. You pull the strap and it tightens to your comfort level. The cords that were used to pull were actually the same material as that was used in parachutes. Pulling the strap, you can actually hear the mechanism clicking and see it working on the bottom of the outsole like a clock. Crazy technology.
the fast fit system isn't the best in practice. it doesn't allow the shoe to tighten as one actually needs. and the sneaker was hella heavy because of the fast fit system
I'd be interested in a running shoe series. Particularly looking at Nike's current line (Pegasus, Vaporfly, Alphafly) and maybe going back to some of their Air Max that you haven't done.
I’d like to see this as well. I have a pair of Pegasus 36s that I had custom made by Nike on their site and they are my most comfortable shoes I own(right next to Yeezy 350). And I own quite a few. Lol but they are so simplistic in their design I feel like. Would love to see what makes them one of my favorite shoes to wear to work. 👍🏼
I’d love to see a Chelsea boot series. This boots style has an interesting history and used to be very expensive. Now there is a wide array of styles available from very dressy to very casual. You’ve already done a few pairs but here are a few recommendations - Jim Green, Frye, Thursday Boots Company, Grant Stone, Allen Edmonds etc. This could be a Christmas Chelsea series since you may want to wear a dressier boot for holiday get togethers.
great last words on this video, I love people who are passionate about any niche, and genuinely care about it. Hard to talk to so many ‘sneaker heads anymore’ that like shoes for the wave it’s on
Really good analysis of the engineering and design that goes into modern sports shoes. Too often they are dismissed as cheap fashion items and while fashion does play its part, the shoe companies invest a lot in research and technology to make better shoes. The understanding of human bio-mechanics has improved significantly over the decades.
Trail running shoes have become one of the most popular choices of footwear for people thru-hiking the AT and PCT. I would absolutely love to see a Rose Anvil analysis of some of the products from brands like Altra and Hoka.
Things I would like to see.... - A Retro vs OG pair (Sneakerheads are always saying OG quality is better, let's see if that's true) - A real vs Fake (I've always wanted to see the differences between a real pair & a really good fake) - Basketball shoes (This was your first basketball performance sneaker, unless you count retros) - Kobe Protro vs OG - Air Mags lol - Nike Yeezys, although they're probably similar to some J's, I think Y1 & J3 have the same soles.
The Jordan #5's were really popular in Australia when they came out I thought they were the best of the Jordans line, but also the Agassi Nike three quarter was really good to wear, you should get these and check them out.👍
Huh. I didn’t expect to actually like these. I don’t like how most of these shoes are made, but this one is absolutely purpose built. I like where the materials are placed. I like the shape. Dang. I’m a boot guy but I think I want a pair of these for when I want to cling to my youth
Having the midsole decoupled into two separate parts allows the forefoot of the shoe to move/tilt sideways more independently from the heel when doing lateral or medial cuts during basketball
I played basketball, like a lot, during the 90s and the 2000s. I tell you, not many pairs of sneakers could resist a month of playing. I'm a bit on the heavy side. We played on asphalt for most of the year, except the winter when we played indoors on hardware floors. The old Nike airs, would pop their bubble in a week. And by the end of the month they were unusable. I did have a pair of Jordans that lasted me for 6 months, but I think they lasted more coz I was saving them for important games and didn't use them as much in the rotation. Am a bit envious for this new material science. On the other hand, I don't play as much ball, but I still walk a fair bit. I like the foamy Sketchers. I can still wear out a pair in a year though. Just by walking.
A pair of shoes that i think you'd find interesting is the nike gt jump its similar to the 36 but with a little more tech in it also love the videos keep them up
We need some more work boot reviews. Found the thorogoods extremely uncomfortable but loved the redbacks! Would love to see some of the newer boot models cut open and checked out!
I love to see this! Im currently using this as my shoe for hooping but i really wanted a breakdown of the inners if it! Rose Anvil never fails to ammuse me!
Amazing video! The technology on the newer collection has some innovative designer's like Tate Kuerbis, who took a NASA prototype shoe and put that technology in the Air Jordan 33"s ( I'd love to see you spilt these in half). The A.J. 36's by far these shoes are in its on league.
A motorbike boot series would be interesting. For example you could look at: * different technology in the boots * comparison between expensive vs cheaper motorbike boots * how they compare to non motorbike boots in terms of safety /comfort /price
An insulated winter boots series would be awesome. Meermin has shearling lined boots and I’m sure some other companies do as well. I’m also curious about the durability of thinsulate lined boots and Vibram’s Artic Grip sole.
Wolverine Wednesday for the next series. Workboot comparison to popular work boots, 1000 miles to red wing grant stone, BLVDs to Thursday, even Blvd sneakers to the white sneakers. Could also grade some older boot leather on your scale.
I'm a bigger guy and I usually play in lebrons or big shoes with thick uppers and heavy cushioning (lebron soldiers) - picked these up though and they're ridiculously comfy and supportive, and the upper is amazingly durable. What an incredible incredible performance sneaker.
I’m really surprised by the lack of knowledge on the eclipse plate for torsional support… like the carbon fibre in the 11’s. The foot doesn’t flex at the mid foot, if not for that sort of flexion, it’s to stop the shoe twisting up on cuts, and keeps the foot planted in the footbed. The only part of the foot that flexes is at the toes, so why does he keep bending the shit out of the shoe in the middle?
Have you made a video about zero drop, wide toe box shoes? I would love to see some different brands of those shoes to see what the real difference are. I love your videos, attention to detail, and the time you put into making quality content!
I'm definitely strapped in for the cowboy boot series, I think that's the corner of the boot market that's itching the most for attention from this channel.
Function over form, but Jordan brand does spent a lot of time with the design. The Jordans from the 31 to now take design elements from the original Jordans (31-->1, 32-->2, 33-->3, etc).
I just love the Jordan 36….its like an upgraded Jordan 6…..Like most of the Jordan 30s models,They are for the most part….updated versions of past shoes.
Not a big deal and I promise there is no judgment, just more of a pet peeve of mine as a diver. You mention the shoes are like wet suits and they are waterproof. Wetsuits aren’t waterproof, they are actually wet while in use. The neoprene fibers of a good wet suit is stitched or woven in a way to allow water to flow in but have a harder time escaping the wetsuit. The water in the wetsuit will begin to warm up because of body heat. A dry suit is waterproof though because it is sealed before entry into cold water, allowing warm air to stay in the suit throughout a dive. Some divers even use hair dryers to fill their dry suits with warm air, but with any extreme it can be counter productive if you get to warm. If you start to sweat it will be cold and you will have to use more body heat to warm your self up. This was totally my issue alone and no judgment, just wanted to clear that up, also I like to share knowledge to people willing to receive it.
Is very interesting you cutting the shoes to see what is inside, I would like you to make a video doing the same with APL shoes and see the technology inside. Great video!
You should do Rick Owens Ramones. It’s a hype $700-$10,000 shoe that looks like a high converse with a zipper on the inner heel kind of boot like chucks
I really wish these came in a all black colorway. Tempted to buy them and color the red parts black. Even better if it wasn’t an ice sole too. That doesn’t age well at all.
Those sponsor shoes look exactly how I would expect some non-waterproof shoes to look when getting water poured on them. It clearly starts soaking in immediately. It's not like the water would go right through or something.
If you're going to do a Jordan July next year I'd really like to see you cover any of the 4s, 5s, 12s or 13s. (Especially curious as to what goes on behind that quilted leather and... ankle marble?) A comparison between an authentic pair and a high quality replica (Some popular releases indicate legitimacy BECAUSE replicas typically had better quality control) would also be really interesting.
Quickly becoming one of THE must-subscribe channels for serious sneakerheads, as it provides the substance and knowledge that comes with the hype of a shoe. Are we getting innovation, renovation, repetition or just price inflation? Rose Anvil has the answer, and we're all smarter because of it. Thank you.
I don't get why sNeAkErhEaDs even care about this stuff. They buy sneakers strictly on looks and hype. It could be the worst sneaker ever produced, and they'd still buy it if it was hyped up and looked good.
@@littlejackalo5326 you're getting "sneakerheads" mixed up with "Hypebeast". Sneakerheads know the history and origins of the sneaker culture. We own books and magazines on the topics of design, evolution and history of our favorite brands, colorways and models. Hypebeasts have no idea why a shoe looks the way it does, and doesn't care about anything besides if everyone else likes what's on their feet. One has a shallow and vapid relationship with sneakers, while the other can name their favorite designers not names Tinker or Kanye.
Hey man, you have said that you ve done the most iconic Jordan’s. But what’s with the Jordan 5s ? Man please do it :-) btw Great breakdowns off the shoes, in general, in your videos
Fun fact for thos non jordan people him calling the shoe a ferrari is pretty accurate as the inspiration for the 36 is the 6 and that is inspired by porshes
How do you *STILL* not understand what the midfoot shank is for? It's for *TORSIONAL RIGIDITY!* So the forefoot can move independent to the heel and the rest of the shoe doesn't *TWIST.* It's not used like a boot's shank. You don't step on rocks with the midfoot like a boot. Basketball is played on perfectly flat and level surfaces.
I accidentally created the sickest mantra by goofin & singing/repeating you as I was gettin' comfy. Dig this Rigidity within (x10-as required) Rigidity withinnnnnn(sustain) Allows for just a little more rebound - repeat until nirvana
You should do a comparison of the legit jordan that you have sliced and fake jordan to see if the insides are the same with the original. That would be interesting because most of the fake jordans have air units as well and I want to know if performs the same way with the legit. Do the Jordan 1, 2, 3, 11, and 36. I believe those are the jordans you have sliced in half.
What about some of Nike’s signature shoes from the 90s? Air More Uptempo (followed by the rest of the Pippens) Foamposite (followed by the Air Penny) Iverson Signature shoes possibly? I think Reebok’s DMX shoe tech was pretty cool for it’s time too.
It would be cool for you to cut any of the terrascape Nikes in half to see what the deal is with the 20 percent recycled materials that make up the bottom of the shoe
I can’t be the only one who’s really curious about what the Nike roshe run would look like cut in half, I know it’s a pretty minimal shoe but I want to see if there was a valid reason why everyone had them 8 years ago
Langston Galloway just released his own NBA signature model and how Jordan retros have downgraded in quality i would love to see how/where this man is starting out if i should invest... same with other nba signature models like Zion(Jordan) Trae Young(adidas) and Joel Embid (UA)
