love the look of the v but the axe and explorer look is always the one that catches my eye. but totally agree. extreme shapes always stand out over traditional ones

I play mostly at home sitting at the computer, that is when the V's suck and the Kelly wins.

Please do! Yeah, it's funny because I was riffing around on a new guitar I have that still has a tone knob and I was like "why does this sound weird" and then realized I accidentally dialed back the tone knob... that thing is getting removed ASAP! 😂

Mine has zero kneck dive. 22 yr old jackson kextmg kelly it stays put on my body great while not holding it steady.

Yeah, that works too. I find if you use a heavy duty strap that usually resolves a lot of neck dive as well. If you don't already, check on my instagram... I'm working on something with a friend of mine that I think most pointy guitar enthusiasts will love!

I read or saw a video where a guy used weights that clip on wheels to balance tires . He put them in the control cavity. I forget the model guitar he had but he said a couple of those weights was all it took . I think he glued them in his but you could use Velcro or tape so it wouldn’t be permanent . I just thought that was a pretty good hack . I had a Iceman and I didn’t want to move the strap button for the longest eventually I got tired of the damn thing wanting to flip forward on me and moved it to treble horn if it had one LP style. I’ve never had a guitar nice enough to worry about an extra hole on the back

It's worth it I've upgraded the bridge and getting Ready to change the pickups it's a nice guitar, frets feel nice etc

Why sad? For me, it's just an irritant. The internals aren't anything special.. Just the solderless kit from EMG minus the tone pot lol.

I don’t remember, but it was a direct retrofit for the special, so I didn’t have to alter anything… I just removed the old block and put this one on. Also, I bought it on Amazon if that helps

I just bought this guitar and was wondering the same. There's a 32mm and a 37mm block to choose from.

@@gaberox1 Well, I can report back - the 37 mm block is definitely larger than the factory one, but it does fit. It's close though, I was worried it wouldn't before I put the back plate back on and tried it for myself.

I moved the volume down to where the tone knob was, and that made space for the battery where the volume pot was originally.

Yeah it definitely is an acquired taste, and I totally understand why more people don’t use them. I prefer my Solar in terms of comfort just for that bevel and where my right arm sits, that helps a lot!

Depends on the situation. A lot of the time monitors, but sometimes my cab. Just depends on what I’m doing and how loud I want to be that particular day

IME most of the time I have issues with tuning on a FR, or more specifically it not returning to 0, is because of aftermarket "noiseless" springs. The silicone they wrap the springs in gets caught between then and will slightly drop your tuning. Once I started using the official FR springs, that went away.

I’d personally go with the following upgrades for your Floyd setup: Stone Tone Sustain Block (it’s much lighter than the standard sustain blocks you’ll get and makes the guitar resonate so much better IMO) Schaller Sure Claw (replaces the standard spring claw that comes with Floyd Rose equipped guitars and makes spring claw adjustment much easier - you only need one hex key to make an adjustment. The device works with a worm gear system that makes adjustment much easier than the standard two screw setups. You will have to solder the guitar’s ground wire together with a provided ground wire and copper grounding strip once you install both of these upgrades (preferably with shrink wrap), but once you get it done, you’ll be able to make adjustments much easier). FU-Tone noiseless springs (preferably the red heavy tension ones, especially if you drop tune). I’ve installed these upgrades in my own Jackson KEXQ Kelly and it’s become my second favorite guitar behind my seven string (Jackson SL7Q Soloist). Throw in a Seymour Duncan SH-5 Custom in the bridge and Seymour Duncan SH-1N in the neck, then put the pickup selector in the middle position and you’ll have a guitar that chugs harder than an alcoholic German man at Oktoberfest 😆🤘

I have an LTD viper, and I don't think it has any neck dive 🤨Wonder why that is. Mabye it's just lighter wood.
