Perhaps not cheaper when it comes to groceries, but definitely better quality! At least, that's what I've found so far. We've found a flat in Västerås and it's bigger and significantly cheaper than our flat in London but yes, I've found lots of things are much more expensive here too

@@SwirishStories At least Västerås is cheaper than London. I am looking forward to your observations and reflections of Swedes. I guess you already noticed some major differencies between Irish and Swedish people. I always enjoyed Ireland and the Irish way. 😉

Yes, I'm planning to do a video like this once I've settled all of the things like getting my social security number etc. Turns out it takes a while!

Hi Anders! We have moved to Västerås, which is Anders' home town.

@@SwirishStories Interresting. Västerås is also my home town. I was born and raised here and have lived here all my life except for my stay in London and my service period in the army. I have known only a few Irish people. A college at work in London, the pub keepers in a pub across the street from my office in London, the PU manager at JLR I dealt with for many years working at GKN as well as a former college at GKN in Köping. It will be interesting to follow how you will fair in Västerås. If ever you would like my advice regarding life here please give me a shout. I and my partner live in the house where I grew up at Framnäs in Västerås.

Well, first of all I would say just go for it! When I moved to London I did it because I was so fed up of Ireland like you and really needed a change. I also lived with my parents for too long and it does wear on you but when you're in Ireland you feel like you have to because rent is so expensive. I moved without a job and got one when I arrived (but I had some savings and I stayed with my sister who also lived in London for a few weeks before I got a flat share). The good thing about London is that there are tons of people doing the same thing so you will meet people.

@@SwirishStories yeah I'm similar to yourself alright. It's so expensive here in Ireland that I can't move out of my dads either. Well I'm starting a new job soon so hopefully I can save up work hard and eventually look into emigrating to London or Sweden. Thanks for the advice I love your videos. There very helpful.

Hi, thanks for your comment! Yes, I've been informed about the Swede's love of bureaucracy and I've already started the process with Skatteverket. However, I don't expect things will be fully sorted until after Christmas but I'm looking forward to getting my person nummer ☺️

@@SwirishStories Yes.. that was what i was aiming at.. The swedish system is set up by "personnummer", how is linked to "befolkningsregistret" (populatin register), how is keept by "skatteverket"! I think that I and your fiance dont think this a lot of bureacracy.. becuse we got it by birth! However.. with a personnummer.. it says that you got a resident permit, temporary or permanent, tell us more about it when you get it.. temporary or permanent! Becuse I read that one need to live in sweden 3 years befor it can get permanent? Im wating for you to do a video about that topic! Another thing befor I forget it.. when you got a personnummer, aply directly for a swedish ID card, you get this at Skatteverket altso! Becuse.. our system is set up to work in this way.. resident permit = personnummer = swedish ID card = swedish banc account = you are a resident of sweden! What ever you then do, every company or authority you meet, is going to ask about your ID card/personummer to know who you are! And your personnummer is your tax account at skatteverket, that is nice to know if you get a swedish job. Then to the pros.. after all the registartion, everything supose to go automaticly.. moste of the time, the rest is done on Internet.. if you got a mobile banc ID, you get this at your swedish banc, and then you altso get a banc card and Swisch.. both is importante, becuse sweden is to a big extens a cash free society!
