I really enjoyed listening to you! What you said was very insightful and thoughtful. I took Vraylar for one day. The side effects were insomnia and constipation (which I never have!) I stopped it immediately. I am Bipolar 1. I have had lots of Manic episodes when I was younger. I do not take any Antipsychotics. All those I know who are Bipolar and took Antipsychotics long term are not well mentally and have serious side effects! I only take a mood stabilizer and antidepressant. Way less harm on your system compared to Antipsychotics. I feel so badly that psychiatrists are as incompetent as they are. I used to be a therapist but had to leave the field due to how depressing it was watching people receive poor care and be prescribed unnecessary medications and being misdiagnosed.

I was taking Vraylar and it caused me to have a manic episode. When I took Vraylar, I became restless and I could not be still. I could not sleep and I was walking the streets sometimes at night. I walked all around town dressed in some of my bizarre attire. I began to hang out at my old hangout spot with my old friends who all drink and drug. I have been clean and sober for 26 years, but I almost started back drinking and using. My doctor discontinued the Vraylar and I took antihistamines to make me drowsy! It took me about two weeks to recover from that manic episode.

pretty informative. it's always important to have a second opinion, sometimes even third and fourth. it isn't easy to diagnose a mental health disorder. I got many diagnosis until I got my actual diagnosis and even that isn't 100% (bipolar 1 or schizoaffectiv). we never know what tomorrow is. we humans will always change. to focusing on yourself is one of the best decisions you can make actually, in my opinion. thanks again for sharing.

It’s me again going on second week of Vraylar. Most uncomfortable side affects are the tiredness with restlessness. I’m praying it passes it’s still early. Will keep you posted. Unfortunately I have bipolar 1 symptoms. I literally know when I’m hyper manic vs depressive moods. I clearly recognize mixed episodes which are the absolute worst times. There’s random crying spells for no particular reason that deep. Then the signs of upcoming mania usually includes hyper sexually moods which leads to guilt etc etc too much to text. We should talk. I haven’t met but 1 person in my entire life who’s willing to be transparent. That helps alot. Any way besides why I’m on Vraylar the meds have calmed the middle as I call it the thing that’s always present… Anxiety. The feeling like too much caffeine or buzzing, antsy. Literally after taking first dose my body warmed over into a very normal calm. It gave me great hope. So I’ll keep you updated on my my progress. Feel free to inbox me on FB . I’d love to compare notes. Sincerely Choosing to do the work and take meds again because I can’t do it alone. 🙏 Peace Love and Healing ❤️‍🩹

I quit taking it on my own. Was prescribed this for major depression, although I’m not bipolar. Worsened my depression so much I nearly killed myself. The doctor refused to hear me, said give it time, and increase the dose etc. well after 4 months, I quit taking it and got a second opinion. Got put on lexapro from another doctor and it saved my life. Vraylar is for bipolar depression/mania, NOT for depression

Im glad you got off that junk. Hell, the blk dude in the current add LOOKS fucking crazy..maybe even schizophrenic...halloween type shit. The side effects are worst than the damn bipolar lol. Wishing u well- I really do understand the struggle. Hopefully you have euphoric mania and just stay there & accomplish all your life goals. I deal with BPII and the depression be kicking my ass. Im sometimes (dysphoricly) hypomanic, particularly goal oriented, racing thoughts and irritability but usually stay stuck in the lows or at a "normal" baseline. Try lamictal, it softens the blow if your system can tolerate it. Peace ❤

@Cheeto Licker well I have Bipolar 2, so my rating from 1-10 is like a 5. I haven’t really experienced much side effects, except blurred vision. I also don’t trust the docs in TN, like just scan my brain already. Also my depression is still here but it’s not bad as it used to be, as long you have someone to talk to like a therapist your fine.
