Pricing varies by car, installer and how much you want put on. Blackout says about $1,500-2,000 for a front end usually. For my car specifically at this shop with this exact amount of coverage it's about $2,500.

2500 god damn. I have a Tri White Fusion and I was getting quotes just to do the bumper in the 300 range. Granted you pay for quality installs, but 2500 quite a bit. I mean could you touch up for cheaper at the 100k mark, plus assuming you ever get into an accident will insurance even cover that without an addendum?

I live about 10 Miles from Josh and Blackout Tinting and personally I’ve taken 7 cars to them to tint for me. They always do an amazing job and I’ll continue to go to them forever.

Having my 2018 Mazda3 Grand Touring sedan wrapped tomorrow with the XPEL premium kit at Detail Authority in Fairfax VA! Had the A-pillars and partial roof done as well. I despise rock chips and avoid main roads because of this. Nice video from my birthplace, Latrobe!

I’ve had it on my 2014 GT since new. Not the full hood, just the front third. Worth every penny being able to hit the road without worrying about chips. Fours years and still looks brand new. Good luck and great looking car!

The Video Pro which one did you get? I’m about to buy my 2014 GT and I wanted to know how much it cost and which one you got? And do you guys recommend detailing the car first then getting expel and then ceramic ? Or expel then detail and ceramic

Cheyenne Obregon Sorry for the delay in answering. I got Expel but I’m not sure what the package is called. It came with the front bumper, third of the hood, the front portion of each fender, and the side view mirrors. The shop I took it to prepped the car. I’m petty sure that included clay bar etc. it was about $800.

With the way the emissions stuff is going and engines being downsized, I highly doubt there will be a naturally aspirated V8 manual Mustang, but I'd love to be wrong.

Great video. This is honestly so worth it. I just bought my new used 2016 golf r and already has a bunch of stone chips just from all the rural driving I do. Spend the extra bit of cash and save the headaches down the road. Kinda pricey but even a general wrap all over will save the paint from elements. Overspray, UV damage etc.

After all the stone chips I copped on my 2015 Mustang virtually every time I took out on a road trip, I had similar wrap done on my 2018 Mustang.

Beautiful ride man. I did the same with my GT350. I was back and forth on doing it, and wish I would have done it earlier than I did (I had 600 Miles before I put it on). I went with Xpel also and am happy with the results! Enjoy that sexy beast!

Nice Matt. I had this done on my car. It was certified installer. However the result was so and so. The hood wrap has some lines/imperfections at the edges towards the windshield, I have dirt under the wrap at some places, I have been back three times to have edges re-done.....

I’m from Australia. Last week I was in Melbourne to talk to a detailer who specialises in ceramic coatings and clear wrap. He had just finished clear wrapping a 2018 Mustang GT. Bumper to bumper ( the entire car ) Cost $6000 Australian dollars. The car looked brilliant 🇦🇺

I love Cquartz coatings from car pro .. they make the paint look amazing. Paint protection film looks less glossy.. never cared for it but it does do a better job at protecting your paint. The Ceramic coatings do offer some protection just not as good as the film.

I have had two types of film protection on all six of my cars. I use to be a 3M only. But tried the Xpel on my Audi TTS and AUDI A3S. And to be honest. The 3M product is MUCH easier to put on compared to xpel. And 3M, had less issues over time. My 2018 Honda Accord 2.0T Touring, thanks matt, I bought it as soon as I saw your review, but I put on xpel and to be honest, I do not like it. I put 3M on my BMW i3 and its a much much better look and easier to maintain. So. thats my opinion.

Matt I would consider doing the rear quarters too. The flare in front of the rear wheels takes a beating. My PP1 has considerable rash after only one summer of careful driving. It's the worst panel on my car. Edit: the Michelins are probably more likley to throw stones than the Pirellis too. Alternate option would be rock guards.

I'm not sure, have to look into this. I think you have to put an addendum on your insurance to make sure it specifically covers it.

Thanks for the video Matt. I have an appointment with my local Xpel installer next week for my '19 Grand Sport. And the video helped in that after the GS I'm taking the wife's '18 Mustang GT for an install also. I was wondering with the angles on the front of the '18 GT if it would turn out good.

What do you all think of ceramic coating I’m thinking about having it done to my 2020 Bullitt it’s a weekend car and garage kept only that’s why I can’t really decide on having the film put on it or just ceramic coating ?

You may encounter less road debris in a weekend car than you would in a daily driver, but film is still the only thing that'll really protect while driving. I would've bit the bullet and had the entire car wrapped since you intend on keeping it forever. Bird droppings can still hit unwrapped areas like the roof and damage the clear coat. Amazing looking results though nevertheless.

Had my 2017 mustang GT wrapped with Xpel for the track. Did the same wrap setup he did. Your going to spend $2k to have it detailed and wrapped cheaper than repainting later

Hey Tino, what Mustang are you thinking of getting? With the new automatic it may feel like a greater difference. Otherwise, with the taller gearing on the manual 2018s, the difference might not be as big as you're expecting. I haven't taken the Bullitt over 4,500 rpm yet so I'm not sure how fast it feels compared to my 2016. Below 4,500 it feels a little more punchy, but not by much.

Matt Maran Motoring...I am curious about something with the XPEL covering. If you live in an area with cold winters(ice & snow) and sub freezing temperatures, will this have a negative effect on the covering? Wouldn't it shrink and expand at a different rate than the painted metal?

When you put the Tracwrap on your vehicle, was it precut to the shapes of the front bumper and other body panels you covered? Or did you just purchase a roll of it from XPEL and cut it to shape when at the dealership? Thanks for the awesome content!

Tracwrap doesn’t come pre-cut, just in a roll. So with the help of my salesman, we just put it on in strips to cover the main parts. Definitely wasn’t the best looking but got the job done.
