Can't tell you how much I appreciate that support Riley! I just feel like a reaction video channel isn't the best way to shine a light on lesser known artists. I gotta figure out how to make content that works whether it's Tyler Childers or Pony Bradshaw. Hope that makes sense.

There's a lot I could say, but I will try and make it short. I've never really been a huge "RU-vid" guy. Of course, I will use it for sports highlights or to look up an occasional funny video, but I never considered myself a person that would make time to tune into RU-vid specifically for catching a creator's content. I remember being introduced to Tyler Childers music about 5 or 6 years ago and slowly becoming a huge fan. During this time, I would often hop on RU-vid to try and catch all the Childers content I could find. I consumed myself with older live performances, rare cell phone captured videos, and the aforementioned reaction videos. A couple of years ago I remember stumbling upon this Lady May reaction video by this Burt Byler fellow. Whether it be the beginning when you were figuring out how to pronounce his name, complaining about your cheap headphones, or the jokes about his working-man boots and guitar case...one thing was for certain...I was hooked. Things that you may find cringeworthy are some of the things that I enjoy the most. You were funny, sincere, and open to the experience of the music. Something I had rarely seen with other content creators or even in reaction videos. I'm going to steal some of your words from that video that I feel like relates to what you are going through today..."Now that I think about it, it just makes so much sense that you feel like you get your legs cut out from under you and it's this long slow fall like when a tree falls. It's not like something that happens over night and you get over it just like that. It feels like this super long process and then you crash down. It's beautiful." I've tried to watch every video you've ever put out since that Lady May reaction. I hope you find what you're looking for. Follow your heart and do what makes you happy. You've found a lifelong supporter in myself who will continue to spread the Burt Byler gospel no matter what it might be. Keep smiling and keep pushing forward. That's all we can really do. Thanks for introducing me to more artists than I can count. Thanks for all of the belly laughs during your videos and on the stream. Most importantly, thank you for giving me an outlet and making me feel like I'm part of something. Something that is bigger than myself. I have faith that everything will work out how it should. I get it. As someone who makes music for a living I’m constantly asking myself who I’m doing it for. The good thing about having so few people give a shit is that you HAVE to do it for yourself, otherwise you’re missing your audience. Always here if you want to talk man!

You started reacting to videos to get eyes on your own music but what you did create is highlighting other peoples music. I think a fun way to balance it out would be the Americondo becomes a little bit of everything, as a teacher you should react to an artist you like then maybe teach how to play a part or as a songwriter react to a video and showcase how you get inspired to write then hey Friday nights it’s just the combination of everything and just post jam sessions. I think you tapped into peoples love of music but more in depth of being a musician and a sprinkle of reaction videos as a musician should make you narrow the path.

Maybe where you fit in this big music circle is exposing people to new artists. You'll probably never live off youtube that way but I get the feeling you get excited about finding and giving exposure to new artists almost as much as you like making music yourself. Not only new artists either. People come for the music and stay for your personality so it works across the whole spectrum.

Youve put me on to so many new artists and rlly opened my eyes to the whole american music scene so much so that u inspired me to break out of my shell and start makin my own music and ill be here no matter what u do . Also i think some more musician interviews and songwriting tip vids would be awesome man
I only really watch you and Michael P. react to music. I watch MP’s channel for a deeper understanding of song structure and for the theory behind why a song feels the way that it does, and I watch you for a deeper understanding and appreciation of lyrics that only another songwriter can provide. My favorite thing you’ve done on your channel is the “amateur hour” reactions where you exposed me to other artists that I never would have heard of otherwise and vice versa. People comment on my channel and respond to my videos that never would have heard of me but say “saw you on Americana Addicts” or “saw you on Burt’s channel”. I’ll always appreciate that and I love your ability to create community even if it wasn’t your intention. Best of luck to you brother no matter where your path leads. Look, I've always loved the reactions, you give great insight to the songs you react to. If you feel it's time to move on, I support it but will be saddened. I've bought your music and thoroughly enjoyed it. You are a real artist. I'd love for you to make it big one day. For me, I just don't want the reactions to end. But, I'm just one guy on the internet.
Theres a ton of people making reaction videos on youtube. I subscribed to you because you're pretty funny and down to earth. Do your thing and I will keep on watching.
Your videos are one of the biggest things I look for throughout the week. This is heartbreaking to hear. It’s unfortunate that you’re not longer doing it but I’m very happy you’re doing the things you aspire to do.

Take a beat, take a breath, and take stock of what makes you happy. I know other youtube/social media personalities and people who suddenly found themselves questioning what they were spending their time doing once they added a baby/kiddo to their family, and I have feeling that may be a part of it. I work from home for a giant health corp, I hate it, but I'm working through my AA in English and starting in the Spring, my BA for Liberal studies to be an Elementary Teacher or Jr. High English Teacher, at 44! Find what you love, do the reacts if and when you feel like it. The Pandemic was a magical time for react channels, and maybe that's fading a bit, but whatever you decide, make sure it's for the right reasons!
Write and play for yourself brother. I got back into music and writing for myself and it has been the greatest thing I could have ever done and I just really am not concerned about sharing it online...only with my loved ones
Maybe turn it into a channel that goes through your process of making music, your song idea, you could ask if anyone has ideas etc... colab with other like minded people etc...
I’m up here in MN and I was listening to most of this myself already BUT You were the only Channel that actually seemed like it wasn’t a job (My 70 year old Mom and 88 year old Grandma agree). Well Burt, I have been doing my music stuff on here for a long time, and I wouldn't have put up over 1100 videos if I didn't love doing it. I like knowing that even the few (200) subscribers I have are enjoying what I like to play. I don't care about fancy thumbnails or algorithms. I have or had cancer and the only thing that kept me from going insane was this hobby. Do what it is that you like to do and it will enrich your life, in more ways than just money. It has been a learning experience for me too and I'll keep doing this as long as I can. Come visit and give me some feedback, I'd appreciate your efforts, heck you might even like it. . . . hope to see ya down the river.
I subbed because I like being exposed to new music. I haven’t found time to listen to any but I’m a tired Flight Attendant. I will but probably not today. I’ll stay subbed. On your channel you should just put out what you want to on that day. And put something else the next. It doesn’t need to be that specific.
