Can you please tell me, best way to send crypto from ledger to trezor ?

Send $1 to the trezor, back up the trezor to steel or titanium plates and then wipe the trezor and recover the seed from the metal plates. Verify that you can see and send the $1. At this point, transfer a small test transaction from ledger to trezor with a QR code (for the error correction vs copy pasting a string) and then use the same steps (but generating a new QR code to avoid key reuse) to transfer the rest once you see that it worked and you're not being scammed into sending to the wrong address somehow.@@Jason.5911

@@Jason.5911 easiest way is setup the same wallets in trezor as what you have in ledger, then send them out of the ledger and into the trezor.

@@abdulhye if you're using Trezor to "sign" transactions with the Sparrow wallet, the thief would need more than just the seed phrase to the Trezor wallet in order to steal bitcoin.

What have they been doing? I just bought a lot of XRP (or a lot for me, at least, since I don’t have very much money to my name) because of the advice of a good old friend of mine who I trust but I am not actually all that experienced with this stuff and I only just recently even got my own laptop so I’m really lost but trying to learn and figure out what the best/safest option is for me to save or download the XRP I bought so I can just pull it out and put it away somewhere without having to think about it for years to hopefully one day support my future self in an emergency or for my family to be able to use when I’m no longer around

I brought nano s ledger, very confusing for me to swap this XRP coin to usdt. Either the network is blocked, or im not doing it right. It kept disconecting from the cable initially, to do the update. Frustrating. But got there in the end. There are updates to do. Best to keep up to date with these​ in any case. Not sure where I need to connect the wallets IN ledger live, to access the coin. @cam5816

Yup they'd have to physically steal your device though so hide it, they'd also be a very specific person with like a million dollars worth of equipment that would target you for some reason.

There could always be a bug or exploit in these devices, being open source or proprietary doesn't make it impossible. That guy was able to extract the seed phrase using an already patched exploit, but the wallet he hacked wasn't updated. This is why it is important to always update your devices. With open source, the source code is freely available meaning that anyone can find the bugs or exploits and fix themselves for everyone. With closed source, only the creator (in this case Ledger) can see the source code meaning that you have to trust them to do a good job at securing their devices.

Exodus is safer than Binance, but a Trezor is far safer than both. Stay away from ledger, just too much drama with them lately. Yes I've also heard all those stories too of people losing funds. But if you do everything your supposed to do, ie never take a picture or store your seed words in a digital manner, never allow anyone but yourself access to it. Never input your seed phrases into anything but your trezor, and the only time that should ever be would be to restore an old trezor back to original or initiating a new Trezor with seed words from an old one. Many people tend to fall for phishing attempts, they'll get an email that looks like it comes from Trezor, it will say click here to secure your funds or whatever and then it will ask you to input your seed words.. Number one rule is you will NEVER, EVER be asked your seed words, for anything. If your being asked it's either scammers or the police, who knows whatever else too. But if you need to enter your seed words anywhere it's because you initiated it, not because your being asked to do so. Also order from Trezors official website.. Ya ya I know there are official resellers on Amazon and whatever. But just remove any and all possible sources of a breach and you'll sleep better at night. Amazon has been known to resell returns.. So what's to say someone clever didn't buy one, compromise it somehow and repackage it in a way it doesn't seem like it was opened. Amazon will resell it to the next guy, don't be that guy or gal. I highly recommend you get your crypto off of exchanges, it's a very good way to lose all your funds, it's happened before and it will happen again. History tends to repeat itself, especially in crypto, that goes for good news too. Follow best practices and I promise you won't lose a cent. I've had hard wallets since 2013 and haven't lost anything. Oh and remember, it's not the actual device you need to protect at all cost. It's the seed words. You can lose the device, as long you have your seed words your good. I make 5 different copies (hand written of course, not even photocopies, no pictures) and hide them in multiple places, different houses etc...

Yes that is the most important thing. To have multiple wallets since you might get it lost , stolen and to mitigate risk.

You should ideally always update your devices, hardware wallet or whatever else. Updates often have patches for known exploits and not updating could make you vulnerable.

I guess you don't, so in that case you use logic through the process of elimination. Has ledger lost my sensitive information due to a data breach? Yes they have. Has Trezor? No Is ledger going against one of their number 1 rules, don't ever share your keys with anyone, even them? Yes they have. Has Trezor? No And with all the new crazy developments these last couple days it's pretty hard to endorse ledger anymore. And to this day I'm still getting phishing emails due to them losing my email address and who knows what other sensitive info.

You can load it on yourself. The app has a "replace firmware" option.

But if your Ledger created seed phrase was somehow ever leaked because... let's say they do have access to them & were exposed...then your assets could be at risk. Would recommend creating a new seed phrase with another device to be safe!

And what is stopping an attacker to write his own firmware from scratch? How is the attacker going to distribute said malicious firmware? Having software open source means when vulnerability is found it is quickly fixed. When vulnerability is found in closed source product usually it won't get fixed that quickly because fixing a security flaw doesn't generate more money and community can't fix it themself either.
