Was properly looking out for you on the day Ben. Gutted you didn’t manage to make it but glad you’re feeling better. Managed 3hrs 22 in London for my first marathon which I was overjoyed with. Thanks for all the content in the last few weeks, really made me more relaxed on race day!

Good to see you back As you know I did run London following your amazing plan and got a 2:41:09 and over 2 mins PB, but was on pace for sub 2:40 till the km35 but the wind was so strong in the last 10km and lost my gels so I did not fuel for almost half the race.

I did London for the first time and what an amazing experience. I had no intention on getting a marathon PB, I just wanted to enjoy it. I ended up beating my previous marathon PB (Milton Keynes in 2019) by two minutes! I couldn’t believe it. I saw a few Ben Parkes hats, I had mine on of course. I hope you are both back on form really soon. I love yours and Sarah’s videos.

What a drag you couldn't run London! Last weekend I ran the Hartford (Connecticut) Marathon in 3:30, exactly my goal time, thanks to your L3 plan -- it worked *perfectly* for me. This is a 14-min PR over my last road marathon, literally 20 years ago, and an age-adjusted 3:06. So I really feel like I crushed it thanks to your plan and all your inspiration. Many many thanks and hope you get to run your marathon soon. Valencia?

Hang in there Ben things will get better …. I have had a really bad year too, a break down at Christmas which lasted over 4 months. Watching your channel and starting my running again really helped. I did my first half marathon event in 20 years (used to run a lot of them) then ran the virtual London marathon this month. I still have difficult days but the difference is I know it’s just that and it’s not going to last forever. Next marathon for me is another virtual then hopefully one day an actual event. 🙂

You’ll get better with the open water the more you do it! I started swimming after major ankle surgery. I was still struggling with full range of motion a year after surgery and that helped so much with the ankle as well as mental health during the start of covid in 2020. My best friend is a triathlete and former college swimmer who was kind enough to help me build confidence. Definitely swim with a group, get a tow/float when in OW, and a coach always helps with form. Good luck! I’m so excited for the upcoming content!

Great to hear you’re both on the mend after your virus. I was down in London for the marathon & was looking forward to your shakeout run, but there will be other chances! Getting the all clear to start running again after nearly 7 months off with an achilles injury I was left, 3 training weeks out, with a big decision.. but as it was my first time getting into London I decided to give it a go. So glad I did, as the crowd & atmosphere was amazing!! It got me through (& my “getting it done” cap!) to finish in 3:54 which I was really happy with considering the challenges faced both physically & mentally over the last few months. Your vlogs helped so much with this, thanks to your great insights, helpful tips & your honesty over your own struggles. Your commitment to “telling it as it is” shows authenticity which is second to none. I love the work you do & look forward to smashing a sub 2:55 next year using my BP training plan💪

I was supporting all of the amazing runners at the Manchester Marathon on Sunday. After 2 years of injury and generally feeling down about how not running made me feel I decided enough was enough and signed up for next years MCR marathon. I am giving myself 6 months to get to that starting line. Hopefully the body will stand up to it! Won’t get anywhere the times I was hitting 2 years ago but the challenge is to “show up” consistently to training again. By the way - open water swimming is brilliant. I got into it last year and it is so relaxing and so much fun!!! I am terrible at it but I really love it.

I completed the London Marathon last week - first time I've ever done anything like that distance and I'm in no way a runner (charity 10K's are the usual for me...) and although I was outside the time I hoped for (6:32 instead of 6 hours) I wouldn't have gotten that far without all your advice with food, drink and energy stuff. Hi Ben, love the channel and how open and honest you are about the reality of being a runner and life in general. Running for me is 'mechanical medicine' having been through some really tough times, it absolutely helps with my mental health and the effects on physical health are well known and proven. I still have occasional anxiety and panic attacks but they get less and less the more I pay attention to my physical and mental health and I strongly believe they are one and the same thing. I was wondering if you had tried meditating? I am using the headspace app with a subscription paid for by my work and really find it makes a difference.

Two major / similar goals I've got are to complete an ironman (I've entered The Netherlands 2022) and to complete all six marathon majors (.. still have Boston, NY and Tokyo to go)! Loving the journey :) Thanks for a brilliant video! Glad you're feeling better xxx

Gutted as my friend told me on the day you wasn't going to be there due to being ill, as I was going to try and run with you lol. Ran London and I was on for sub 2:40 till the final 2 and a half miles and couldn't hold it. Had to settle for 2:41 instead

Hey Ben, have you entered an Ironman for next year or do just plan to do it on your own on consecutive days as you mentioned?
