Interesting perspective. Nice to know that Singapore offers you a happier (or a better fit for you) alternative. And, we are also enriched by positive people such as you. Merci 🙏
Appreciate your perspective. Thank you for the positive and open comments. Sometimes too many of us have negative things to say about Singapore. Yes, everything in personal and based on preferences. But instead of spreading negativity, it is refreshing and pleasant to hear someone say, this suits her!
I truly believe that every place has its unique charm, and it's all about finding what resonates with us. There’s always room for constructive discussion, but I love focusing on the positives and sharing what makes this place special to me 😊
I think its the best move ever! I live in Sweden and grow up there... and move to Singapore was my best thing ever... and France to Singapore is huge upgrade... especially the crimes in France is quite similar to Sweden I would say... Singapore is real freedom, while Sweden I always have to be alert when I passing by group of people or places that is darker... And same in France when I was there on holiday..
It’s amazing to hear how much you value your move to Singapore too. I totally feel you when you mention the sense of safety. Singapore really offers peace of mind.
SG is super safe but it's far from freedom with so many rules BUT the laws and public service are super efficient and government is really competent compared to Europe/Canada/USA. The pros outclass the cons.
@@magicfire1 I think as a law abiding person as I am.. I feel very good here. Freedom in my definition is feeling safe anytime of the day when you are out and doing activity.
I wish i could move to singapore like you. Whenever i come to singapore i dont feel like going back to my country. Singapore is amazing place to live❤.
@@NewtoSingapore Glad that you lived it! So there is a long tradition of French people coming here to seek their fortune. Besides, we respect any country with a similar obsession with good food 😋
Welcome to Sg & great to see u making here your home. Yes, life can be simple, convenient, and enjoyable as long as u can adapt to the heat & humidity.
Nice presentation and lovely thoughts that you have for the comparison. It has been a long time since I post a comment with you. Your brother had come here already. How I wish you can invite your parents here so that we can hear from them on their thoughts about living here too. 😁
It's not always so black and white as we might be sensitive to different things in life 🤷♀️ Thank you for your continuing support! My brother is actually coming back because he loves Asia very much, going to explore Singapore again and probably Japan, Thailand, and Malaysia too next! It's hard to know what would be my parents reaction as they have lived their own things and are from a different generation!...
There is no perfect country so is Singapore but we r trying to b better always. Thank u for liking Singapore. If u r an outdoors person... there r many to explore here. Greetings from a 62-year-old Singaporean who still exploring Singapore. BTW I love Louve Museum.
Thank you for your kind words and greetings! It's inspiring that you're still exploring Singapore at 62-there's always something new to discover here, especially for those who love the outdoors. I agree, no country is perfect, but it's the effort to keep improving that matters. And yes, the Louvre is a treasure-perhaps one day, I will feature it on the channel!
Welcome to Singapore . If you are new here , it's good to mix around with the locals in your office and learn about the nuances of living in this country . There are reasons why this country is popular with expats , though it is getting more expensive . Besides spending the weekends visiting the tourist destinations and places of interest , get to know some locals to suggest places and how to go about shopping , especially for bargains . Good luck .
Mixing with locals is definitely great advice-there's so much to learn about the culture and daily life here that you can't find in a guidebook. The cost of living is something to consider, but it's also part of the experience of being in such a fast paced city!
Moving to Singapore is almost definitely an upgrade to ur life . Think about it , there’s only 6 m population, to be able to live and settle here is the most peaceful and liveable society should be deemed as a lottery winning .
I mean some people might see it the other way if they don't like places where it's crowded, you can't have a car - but if you are able to live there, it's indeed really peaceful!
Look for a local buddy/guide/mentor to help you navigate through in the beginning years of SG so that you maximize your enjoyment and minimize the stress! Welcome to SG and I'm certain you'll fit in nicely! Au revoir!
Nice video Amandine. As someone who stayed in Paris for a while and now in SG, what I miss is the authentic Baguette. Do you get that in any place in SG? You mentioned in your video that you get good French food as well here. Any recommendations?
Authentic baguette is really hard to find in Singapore. When I mention food, I often mean mains or desserts! Eventually, you can checkout Paul - an actual French bakery but the bread in Singapore tends to be a bit hard from the humidity!
You wouldn't be lonely, 'cos there is a French community here. (There is a lot of foreign community here in Singapore. You should be able to find it online.) Welcome to Singapore.
@@NewtoSingapore I disagree If CEO is Belgium it is not a local company. The founders create the culture of the company. If you work for a real local company like Singtel, a local bank: dbs, uob, ocbc You will know and feel the difference and your perception of Singapore and working in Singapore will change.
You forgot to talk about Taxation ahah. Super low tax in Singapore while Macron tax the hell out of you in exchange of crappy services (Hopital, securité, administration, etc).
