1. Never ever sign into a record label instead find an agent that’s aligned with your brand. 2. Learn how to produce your own music!!. Probably you will thank yourself later. 3. Also a reminder a lot of people are now trying to do this music/dj thing but only a few (hardworking )are going to make it ( sad reality). 4: Lastly focus on your brand as a whole cause you might never know. Probably next year this time might be your turn to shine even after ten years it can happen ( don’t rush)

The music industry right now is very evil. We have those who worked hard and grew, but these days, people are not patient to work anymore, quick money games has destroyed the industry. Cult has gotten into it, and how you can give sacrifices to have fame & fortunes! Those in the industry who are not talking or even covering it, they're under an Oath! Pls, you're on the right track as a producer.

I never cared for the music industry. I was a pretty good keyboard/pianist in the 90's and 2000's . I could have made a scant living at it I believe . The parts I hated most was how unhealthy the life style is. Get with a touring band working for peanuts and ZERO exercise. I gigged with the same band for 11 years doing the tri-county local bars tour. The first 5 years were pretty fun. After that I kind of stayed in because I thought I was supposed to love music. It feels special being a musician. Finally the band hung it up. About a month or so after I got with some others guys and knew instantly I don't want to do it anymore. I still have a piano/keyboard. Maybe play once a week. I have other hobbies now.

XD, let me stop you right there, there's the music industry, then there's the recording industry and a whole more. You need to identify which industry you're in. The music industry is complex, there's Alot of industries in it. As a brand,DJ, artist and musician we all fall under marketing industry, I didn know this too, infact I was shocked to find this out when I went to college and learnt music business 101 2022/3 at Central Johannesburg College, we are in the marketing industry, if you're a performing artist, DJ , singer or perform in stage, you're in the marketing industry, we use music to sell shows and bring a crowd to buy tickets and alcohol where we booked, If you want to be in the music industry then you need to sell music and manage your IP yourself, you need to learn about copyright, you will realise you need to be a record label and publisher. That's what I want to do. I on the other hand am on a mission to learn every expect of the music business while I produce my own music. It's not easy brother you're not alone, let people's opinion be peoples opinion not yours, you know why you started

I believe that you should just follow your own path and do what you like. But I'm just started my way in music (producing only 11 months or so...) and release a couple of tracks. I do this as a hobby (my main job is a programming ^_^). If suddenly I get sucked into the music industry, we'll see how it goes... Warm greetings from Russia

Thanks for the comment. It’s great to hear you are doing music and still have a day job I think it’s the best way to go when starting out. I am sure if the industry comes knocking you won’t respond in desperation because thats what they usually want to be able to trick people into signing terrible contracts.

Develop yourself reach the bargaining status and when the music industry once to work with, you will have some authority to how your brand with work. But it'll not be full authority, they will still manage few things about your brand... thanx alot x for the topic

When you speak about the industry you remind me of a song(the industry) by DMX. Which was more of a warning than a song. I think the industry is a game of masters and slaves and can get as dirty as politics.
