Hi everyone! Thank you for your comments. I just wanted to clarify something that I said at 20:20 about not being in a professional conversation a few times as some of my friends said why did I make such a big statement. I emphasize, I said I’VE EXPERIENCED IT, meaning it’s happened to me and it doesn’t happen to everyone. It does not say anything about the airline but about those specific individuals who sometimes forgot to act professionally at work. So I apologize, if this came out wrong.

Haha.. Really this point before i didn't focus on it but now you highlighted i again listen that so its mean males are not professional...only females are....so bad😂😂thats true what kind of attitude females have for sure male can't act like that..

imbrigita its okay Brigita. You are in a phase of life where people will say a lot of things to you, question you for doing , saying, being what you want to. So its okay. You said what you felt and experienced. And there is nothing wrong in saying the truth. Hope you reach great heights in future and do more of what you love :) ☘️ All the best

I can relate to your feelings about flying. Many successful people advise to move on once your challenges/growth become stagnant. I typically get anxious around the 1 year mark of being in a particular position. I’m halfway through my first contract (3 years) and I’m already feeling like I’ve outgrown the position.

You owe nothing to anyone (at least those who are not a part of your life like family you know). Stay prayerful and be guided spiritually. You are a true inspiration to those who look up to you. It’s wonderful to have someone like you who is encouraging and truthful! Have a blessed life! 🥰

I've thought about it many times since I left school but have always been put off; 1 - the reason above, also I know you're putting yourself out there and you're going to be out of your comfort zone. I think a lot of viewers really want to be Emirates cabin crew, so seeing somebody quit that job seems inexplicable to them ! I can understand why you quit though, 3 years is quite a long time, especially when you are young. Various annoyances and frustrations can start to accumulate. Some of the fun experiences on layovers with other crew seem amazing, but I couldn't do the job of a flight attendant. After a few months, I would be "OK here's your meal, don't bug me again" ! I think it's good advice to have a plan in mind, but don't get so focused that you don't enjoy life !
@imbrigita
@imbrigita 4 года назад
Couldn’t agree more with what you said! I remember when I’d get my roster I’d be like “uhh I’ve already been to those places” or “uhhh I don’t wanna go there”, so I was ungrateful and would waste those opportunities and layovers to read books or work out on just something so silly as shopping instead of saving. Now I’m able to do all those things in my new job and I’m much happier. I don’t mean to say I was unhappy in Emirates, I truly was, I just outgrew it. 🙏🏼

Hi Bri, I've always been a silent viewer, but really wanted to tell you that I am SO proud of you for beginning your next chapter!! I am thrilled that you've become a personal assistant, because you finally get to be recognized for the work you do, as Brigita. You get to lead, think critically, take charge, freely wear what you choose, and make a personalized impact in your work space, all while staying in Dubai! And please don't ever feel bad for sharing the negative sides of your former employment. In fact, those details are what allows many of your viewers to make informed decisions on whether or not they want to follow in your footsteps. There's no denying that several people are blinded by the glamorous appeal of the EK crew role. And often, it is those who can't see past the facade who judge your decisions, because they cannot fathom why someone would give up what is still a "dream" for many. What they cannot understand is that no amount of layovers, 5-star hotels, and donning the iconic red hat can afford you the satisfaction of being individually recognized and appreciated for your talents. And having the means to grow, beyond the traditional GR2-GR1-FG1-CSV-PUR upgrading scheme. There is more to life than that. You were one of the lucky few out of 20k+ crew whom the public could identify by name. But at the end of the day, there was always someone ready on standby to replace you if you were ill. There would always be someone ready to receive their GC if you wanted to (god forbid) deviate from EK's operational needs and be with family for the holidays. All of those years you were at EK, you served your passengers WELL. Additionally, you took the extra step to share your experiences with the world via RU-vid. We all appreciate all the work, creativity, and diligence you put into your content. And now we are here to be fully supportive of your decision to do what is best for YOU. Thank you a million again for making this video. From the kinds of unpleasant reactions you received upon resigning, we certainly did not deserve the time you took to explain a very personal and important life decision. But the fact that you did really shows a lot about your beautiful character. I hope you will continue to be a part of our RU-vid community. But no matter what happens, you will always be remembered for sharing such a special piece of your career with us! We wish you nothing but the best.

Hi Alyson, thank you so so much for such a wonderful, sweet message. It’s unfortunate, that some people misunderstood this video and thought my intention was to badmouth the company when it was quite the opposite, rather to highlight the positives and inform those who consider to apply for the position that it’s not all glitz & glamour. Anyways, I can’t control what the viewer takes away from the video, I am just grateful that you and a lot of others understood my reasons for leaving and are happy that I can move forward in the direction I want. So definitely don’t be afraid of this change to go back into the real world and feel normal again. Adapting to the “normal” lifestyle will take time but trust me, it’s worth it. Dear Imbrigita, wow!! You really evolved a lot and understood so well the real job of being Flight Attendant, it is such an inspirational story about you going through your journey and trying to live a meaningful life according to the way you feel and the goal you want to achieve, still challenging yourself in order to live new and enriching experiences and to live your Life the fullest. As a matter of fact and being a flight attendant myself.. it can be hard to exit this vicious cycle of traveling , special lifestyke, multiples day off, especially after so many years in the airline industry... but at the end what matters is living the Life we feel good about according to our beliefs and convictions. You are such a very mature person at your age! very inspirational story about the various accomplishments you succesfully made and it is always such a pleasure to hear about you through your interesting stories. you rock it Girl!!! Keep it up!!! thanks for sharing your feeling with us since I can relate so much the way you felt when you were Flight Attendant. your feeling and words were so accurate, honest and true!! take care Bri !

It is such an understanding that is hard to find even in the strongest relationship! 😁 I don’t know where you fly but I hope that you are enjoying it and that you genuinely love what you do and it shows. Ohh i can relate even though I didnt work as a flight attendant. I worked as animator (it was a summer job in 11th grade,I just turned 18). Probably, the worst mistake that I made was that I had high expectations about this. As every job which is like international, you live in another country-it seems like if you will apply for the job your life will be completely different. New people, opportunities, sun,pool, good positive team. But then you realize that you are only a stuff. And I dont want to say that I forgot that I came to work, but everything was too strict. There were rules for everything. Sometimes it was even funny. You cannot walk slow near the hotel - people will think that you are on vacation. You cannot sit on the sofa at the reception when you finished work because people will recognize you. And there were a lot of rules that were just absurd. But I’m also from Lithuania. I wanted to experience something new - have my summer before 12 grade like an adult,make my own money:)) And from the beginning it seemed like a perfect job (casting in one of the best hotels in Vilnius, serious questions ...) but when I came there ( Rhodes - perfect place if you are not working there😂) it was really bad. They were just using animators and btw this company was italian so 12 out of 14 animators spoke italian (they had a really bad English). And the sallary was miserable. I decided to not stay for the whole summer and left happy for the experience but I will never choose a job only because of the opportunity to live in other country and have an experience which is unique. I think we should still check everything and not forget that stuff is stuff and mostly even if you were recruited out of 10000 people-it wont be a dream job.
@imbrigita
@imbrigita 4 года назад
Ohh girl I feel you! I mentioned in one of the below comments that we also had some crazy stuff. I was told off for not informing a senior that I went to the toilet like it’s a kindergarden (and it was a 15 hour flight), or for example even if you are feeling dizzy and sweating you still had to keep your jacket on before take off because there was some inspector on board watching how we welcome passengers. All the jobs have some silly rules and some silly people working for the company but the most important is whether you deal with the nonsense or you choose to rise above it and live your own truth.

I loved the cabin crew life at emirates, back in 2008. But I quit because of the lack of support from seniors and managers. Pax can become very rude and abusive in that industry but the company never protected their cabin crew, instead were blamed and humiliated. I could have endured the poor pax treatment and the silly company's policies if there were support from seniors. Crew were too afraid to speak up because of the retaliation from seniors and managers.

That is unfortunately the truth in various corporate fields - the intimidation from authorities. It's definitely not a healthy work environment if you are anxious and feel like no one can really have your back. I think Germany and few other countries have very strong union policies which helps the employees feel more supported.

Hey Anna! So happy to hear you’re a flight attendant and know where I’m coming from. A lot of people asked me throughout the years why Emirates why not any other airline, and to me Emirates was like that mount Everest as you said (hence why I didn’t give up even after failing two open days). And this is how I see life - a trek full of challenges you experience while climbing. I always liked growth and pushing myself, and even quitting this job was pushing myself out of my comfort zone once again. And as they say it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey as cliché as it sounds.

First of all, I want to congratulate you on your new job. I'm sure this is going to be one of your best decision that you had to make in your lifetime. Anyway, my wife now used to be a flight attendant for a major airline. Back then it was a little difficult for both of us as she was traveling internationally quite a bit. Sometimes she would be gone anywhere from five to six days only to come back all tired and she would literally go straight to bed. There were days when we would do things together only to feel sad because we knew that another trip is coming. Although we would talk on the phone a lot when she is away but as soon as we hang that phone up it felt as if we're turning that light switch off. Constant sadness and being lonely on both ends was a norm for us. It felt like there were more days of being sad and lonely than being happy together. That was 21 years ago. Now I have a job overseas that puts me away from her but our feelings now was nowhere near how we felt back then. This time around, we are much happier and everytime I fly home, I always choose Emirates to fly me home. But since the start of this horrible pandemic, I am no longer able to fly Emirates due to my status and I do miss it for their hospitality treatment that they provide. I just want to wish you the best on your new job and in the end, your decision to give up your job for another will turn out to be the best. Good Luck!

Imbrigita, I did watch the whole video. Too many people today get too impatient. I have followed you the whole time you have flown and really enjoyed your photos and videos. I hate that those have ended from your layovers. I loved not only seeing your travels, but how you presented them. You have a great eye for presentation. I am from an airline family, and most of our friends are airline. I even worked for an airline many years ago. My wife is an International Flight Attendant of 32 years, brother in law a pilot 33 years. There is so much more to it than people realize and a much harder job than most people realize. All the extreme time zone changes and so many all night flights can be really challenging to your body and mental state. Your body clock is always off. It isn't like you do it every now and then. It is 4-6 times a month. Plus some of the passengers can be very demanding, but dealing with so many personalities of crew members is even more challenging sometimes. I wish you happiness in your present job and your future! You were an excellent ambassador for Emirates and they were lucky they had you. As I said I will miss those travels with you but understand your decision. I wish you much luck and happiness!

Hi Brigita! Wow, I am currently cabin crew for Emirates and totally agree with most of what you said. I am only working for 1 year now, but so glad I have a goal in mind. I also experience a lot of the same things you did. And also get times where I am super negative and question my whole life. Good luck with the new job! You are a lovely person! 🤗

Bri, I’m glad to see you again. I didn’t knew you quit emirates because I deleted Instagram last year and don’t see you anymore. Anyway, I’m happy you took this decision because sometimes life becomes mundane so it’s always good to make a change. Life is also very short to live so why not experience everything? I wish you best of luck for your current job. Be happy! My only request would be that, please don’t stop making videos because you’re amazing person and I’d like to see you more. Take care always. Love from India 🇮🇳✨♥️

I have a few questions Id like to ask. 1.-So, how does Emirates pay you? As in, is it through your bank account number or is there any other method? 2.-Also, what are the conditions to retire as a cabin crew member? 3.- Regarding the retirement, does Emirates pay you the retirement after you stop working and return to your country? Thank you very much:)
@imbrigita
@imbrigita 11 месяцев назад
Hey! Here are your answers: 1.) Bank transfer 2.) You can resign any time you want 3.) There is no retirement pay out as far as I’m aware.

Please don't consider my comment as offensive. No hate intended at all, but I find a little bit vain then flight attendants from Emirates on their videos complain how this job is repetitive and monotonous. And that it is the same thing again and again i.e. being on flight, going to a hotel, then going back to your base and etc. As I said don't get me wrong, I can relate with your feelings and totally understand your reasons, but it imagine how many people sitting in the tills as cashiers and scanning items all day long or printing, sending boring emails in dull office with zero communication with other people. What kind of progression or growth are over there? How many jobs allow you to travel the world, to stay in 5* hotels and the end of the month pay you a decent salary? Believe me in all huge companies you'd be just a number too. Try to work in Wall street or in surgery clinic and you'd see what really means to be stressful and etc... But please don't take that personally. We always should follow our heart and change the things which don't make us to feel like that and it's good for you that you change your direction which you feel is better. Good luck!
@imbrigita
@imbrigita 4 года назад
Hi Vilte, thanks for your comment. Please don’t take my reply as an offense too but let me ask you something. Have you ever worked as a flight attendant? Have you missed Christmas, New Years and birthdays? Have you missed your family and your home so much that you felt alone in an enclosed tube with 400 people and wanted to cry but had to smile and pretend you’re fine? Have you ever been so exhausted because you’ve worked a couple of nights in a row with zero hours of sleep and woke up in a hotel in some country feeling disoriented and not knowing where you are? If you have never been a flight attendant, I doubt that your answer to any of these questions will be a yes. Let me tell you something, EVERY job has pros & cons. Whether you’re a Kardashian, an underpaid maid or a bus driver. Every job has pros & cons. I’ve worked 40 hours a week in retail for two years where I didn’t feel my feet at the end of the day, I worked in a wood factory making windows during summer when my peers were busy getting wasted in the sun, I delivered newspapers in the early hours of the morning when I was still a teen, I worked in a greenhouse harvesting vegetables just to make €10 a day. So trust me when I say I KNOW what is hard work. I KNOW what is a mundane job. But I can also tell you that we are entitled to feel whatever we feel and if a job you’re doing doesn’t bring you happiness you are free to choose what is best for you. I argued many times with my mom when she said “but look how less fortunate people live”. To me that is not an example I want to follow. (In that case she was trying to talk me out of studying abroad because we didn’t have money, well guess what, I worked my ass off to be able to study and to achieve my dream). I didn’t let the rocks on my road stop me from moving forward. So what I’m trying to say here, is that ultimately it’s each and everyone’s decision how they live their lives and I promise you not everyone wants or needs growth, some people are perfectly happy where they are. But if you’re unhappy working in a till scanning items, change something about it. Either your mindset or your job. I obviously don’t mean this directly to you. But I hope you understand my point. Life is too short, and if we are not happy about something I don’t see a reason why we should just accept it and hope that someday it will just get better. Put in the work, and watch yourself grow. ♥️

@@imbrigita your first paragraph just made me realise something about this job. Since I moved to another country and left everything behind, at school I found myself pretty down so the people who would kinda know about me, my buddies would always ask me when they saw me around or meet, they would ask me if I was okay and I always had to smile at them because if I said I was not okay, i couldn't explain to them what was wrong because of the language barrier. For 7 years straight that happened on almost a daily basis and for 7 years I couldn't find a good friend, instead I had a lot of buddies because I couldn't be myself and have my own opinion about things. My parents didn't have the money to send me to an all English school so that was just the situation I had to face. And since i didn't make good friends, I would never actually celebrate my bday. I never did and I'm 20. Celebrating Christmas or new year's with family became pretty dull over time so I also don't think I'm gonna miss that. Also my family will understand that I have to go out and make better money for a better living for myself and for them since we want to buy a house. I grew up in the village and once I actually didn't realise it but I got lost with friends and I was the one to lead them back so I have a very very strong sense of direction, I always pay attention to what's around me and so the disorientation part, I don't think it's going to happen to me. About the working hours, I worked in a night shift for a month.. from 11pm until 7am with 1 day off and then for another 4 months, I would get back home at 12 at night which is pretty unhealthy because I was hungry and then I couldn't sleep. So over all I think I am eligible also I had to vent

Thanks Amelia, I tried but the messages and comments were going on for months. I would have done the video sooner or later and at the end of the day I understand it’s kind of strange to see someone you follow abruptly change their career and not explain why. But this is the difference people seem to forget, I’m not a celebrity and I’m just an ordinary person so I don’t have justify anything unless I want to do so myself.
