Why I Regret Buying 2015 Chevy Duramax 

Holy shit this comment section is full of deaf fucking people. He's complaining that he bought a truck and then GM added upgrades to it a bit later and called it a 2015 1/2 for a fraction of the money it would cost to have to add the upgrades he did to make it the same. He feels like his truck lost a fuck load of value because of it. I would be upset too. Enjoy your truck tho, I have a similar truck and love it !

Well...Young man! I have gone thru that whole "buy the 1st model of (fill in your rig) only to be the genie-pig for every little "issue" that M.Y. has had! I learned that lesson back in the 1980s! I found another pile of things wrong with this truck, it does not come with a big cinema screen, does not have a 3 seater leather lounge suite, a bar fridge, pool table, nice bed to sleep in, wheels don't stick out enough, not high enough, tow hook too small, wrong colour, no bull bar, too slow, maybe I should have bought a house instead.

I have a 2017 3500 Midnight Edition Duramax. I love it, but theres a lot of features missing for the price to be justified. I don't need any features whatsoever but for the price they should be there.

I don't know what I would've done without the footage of you driving to, and going in to the convenience store to buy the gum. Especially liked that you set up the camera to get that 2 second shot at 1:15, so you could convey what it's like to be walking through the convenience store to buy the gum.

The people in the comments are funny talking trash on the things you don't like but probably never have and never will understand what it cost you to get that truck and to not be able to have the things you wanted on it but such a short time later it's all of a sudden an option. My dad has a 2012 chevy diesel duramax he straight piped it and got rid of the muffler and converters and it sounds like a beast he will do 90 down the freeway with a snowmobile trailer full of four wheelers

Its 2019 and I bought a Black 2014 F 150 and I love everything about it. Why? Because thats the LAST year of the model, so i have no worries about any changes or anyone with upgrades that I will miss out on. I also saved over $30,000 and it should last many many years.

I never even noticed it has been restyled like 1999-2007 models, I'll just go by a 07 2500

the $700+ / month payments keep me away.if less people bought them it would drive the prices down.this country is at an all time high for vehicle repossessions. no reason a duramax should be $50,000+

you forgot abouth the electric assisted steering box added in 15.5 and up....I also have a 2015 2500HD duramax and wish I had the new steering, it is so smooth in slow parking lot areas

There is something that I learned when I bought my first new GM vehicle in the late 1970's and that is do NOT buy a GM vehicle in its first model year. There have always been bugs that surfaced that would be addressed in suceeding model years. My 1978 Cutlass Supreme had a 305 V8 that was a real dog which was later replaced with the 307 V8 was (as I understand) was aan all round improvement. GM also introduced improvements in rust prevention in critical areas of the sheet metal.

I don't understand big lifts with dual reservoir shocks, on a torsion bar truck. Meant for the road, no different than a car with a lift to fit 24s. Good looking truck though.

I had to work on a few chevy trucks. From 2006 on. The early to half is a pain to work on at times. The revisions make can make it a pain to work. Is why I love my fords. Simple and tough trucks.

we could all go back and forth all day long on which truck is the best. they all got good points and bad. if you start with dodge they wouldn't be shit without Cummins, with Ford who wants to spend a lot of money with a mechanic removing the cab to work on the motor and GM should offer a solid axle for the front ends.

Get the last body style they make for the truck because it will have the best experience through the years how i look at it

Love the vid (watching this late because I’m looking to get a 2015 sometime) but you can’t complain about not having a front camera for lifted trucks. They don’t make trucks to have a 8inch lift.

It doesn't make sense for you to say you don't think you got what you paid for because your truck doesn't have wifi. Did you pay extra for that feature? Did the salesman tell you it was included in your particular truck? If not,then you got exactly what you paid for. 2014 owners could say they feel like they should have gotten the 2015 body change too but that would be just as ridiculous.

I’ve got my eye on a 2015 1/2 Denali 2500hd with all the bells and whistles. 6” lift black on black. The only issue is it has 157,XXX on the odometer. Am I wasting my time? If not what should I look for that possibility could go bad? That’s almost 40k a year on mileage.You got me on lifted trucks now.

No worries. I got the wifi system and i surpassed 10 gigs in less then 12 hours. It can't handle RU-vid videos and the excuse I'm given is.."they're high def videos" super supper expensive where it's much cheaper to just teather your phone to the laptop. As for the led lights in the mirrors you just have to hit the switch and when you place it in reverse the lights will come on. Just not in drive it won't come on. What I hate is that I have the midnight edition and I wanted the centre consol but couldn't have it cuz I have leather seats. I can only get a centre consol if I got cloth seats. However the Denali has both. Shame on you Chevy. We are the loyal one. I have as mentioned a 2500 duramax midnight edition and it came with roof lights. If your ordering it just say you got the midnight edition 2016 and you can get the roof lights ordered for your truck, same setup. Hope that helps and great video

What I like about Bowtie Diesel drivers is they are very appreciative when they have maintenance done at our shop. For example they love us to death for cutting them breaks on labor like when we give them 8 new spark plugs at cost and install free of labor .

I feel ya dude my 15 was a pain in the ass to get my delete shit sorted out due to the goofy down pipe that they fixed in 15.5. I ended up doing a cognito 7-9 and no matter what we tried we can not get rid of the stabilatrack light either. I think we're going ford the end of the year.

Never buy the first year of anything. Trucks , electronics whatever it will always bite you in the ass.

I also have a 2015 ltz got pissed when the new 16 come with standard sprayed in bed liner for my 15 I had to buy the cheap plastic liner from chevy that lets water sit in the corner for a nice rust in the long run and color match ext fuck

Why would you go 2500 instead of 3500? Where I live 2500 gets hit with luxury tax when truck goes over $50,000. 3500 is luxury tax exempt. I still haven't figured out if the 2017 Sierra and Siverado HD have halogen headlights still? I'm liking the Super Duty daytime LED look. The Titan XD Warrior comes out I may just go with that.

I actually don't like the tow mirrors, on mine people were baffled at the dealership that I was more concerned with wifi and smaller mirrors. I got the LTZ Z71 with wifi (2016 just before the new 2017's hit the lot), my kids and wife love that wifi. I don't tow anything that often, I more like diesel for the power and mileage. People flip out that I didn't buy a gas, but I like diesel. The only thing that makes me annoyed with the truck is the weird wheel well design, I want to do an Icon leveling kit (swing arms and such) or the Pure Performance lift (supposedly gives the same ride as my raptor had) with 35" tires which means I need to cut fenders or get some other fender.

bro , I feel you about the Wi-Fi and the mirrors ... I ended up trying the autonet Wi-Fi and it's slow as balls .. I also ended up paying almost $2k for the mirror swap but they had to do the wire harnesses in the door and a jumper harness under the hood to make and a reprogram to make shit work

dude just found your truck videos definitely subbing! my current project is an 2012 f250 with the 6.2L gass engine with the extended cab with the short bed. gonna throw a 6in lift on it still deciding on my budget since i want a nicer lift for my money with coil overs :D

I had a 2014 Chrysler 300s and i loved the Bi xenon Auto headlights and my $70k 2500 Ram does not have Xenons, and i ask myself if I go all out on a Cummins why can't I get the same option a $34k car has. And i don't want to install eBay xenons. Maybe 2020 i get lucky

Has a truck doesn't use the bed to load up boxes. Even if they were light weight. Plenty of thing you can/could do to prevent them from moving all around the bed or blowing out. This guys rants are the typical response you hear/read about. "I paid $XX,XXX amount for a fully loaded truck & it doesn't come with/should of came with...". It's a truck. Not a luxury car/crossover.

I have a Chevy 2500 HD Duramax I really like the body style don't like the new one's and plan on keeping mine i don't like where the DEF tank is located but so what , it has good power does everything i want it to do , and i really don't like the looks of the new ones I am happy and that what counts .

This is why i wait a year when a manufacturer releases a new body style, because the first production models usually have issues and they make mid model year changes.

I guess the main thing to remember is if you aren't satisfied with what you are getting, don't buy it. Wait and look elsewhere. Never buy something that checks most but not all of your boxes(if its in your budget at least).

With a lift like that I would hope that the axles have some extraordinary amount of flex. If so ultimate truck... if not... a lot of money just to make it impractical and dangerous

What's the difference between ur Duramax an others iv seen for instance ur center console goes all the way up to the dash an ur front bumper doesn't have that extended lip which I personally don't like the extended front lip on it

great video, informative. gives people some really good advice to possibly make a better decision for themselves. On a side note I think you would have been happier with the Ford. GM no doubt has an awesome Powertrain in these trucks at least as far as the engine and transmission, other than that I think Chevy and GMC fall short in a lot of areas some of which you have mentioned. IMO Ford has always been a really nice truck to drive, big four door cabs comfortable, lots of Technology and convenience items, quiet, relatively high off the ground in stock forum especially compared to Chevy. If a guy would be honest with himself I doubt there's very few at all that would get into a Ford pickup and say I don't like this, it just not a nice truck at all. The problem with Ford is they have lost a lot of customers and a lot of trust in their past diesel engines and they've got a long ways to go to try to get that reliability and Trust back and some question weather their engine is even capable of doing that especially when you compare it to the Duramax or the Cummins.

Have you ever accidentally looked directly into those LED mirror lights? Those suckers burn. Maybe Chevy didn't make them part of the reverse lights cause they can be hazardous to other motorists who may not be in your path of reversing? Who knows.

I was with on everything but the front camera.. Chevy didn't lift that truck to where the hood is 6 foot high, so that would be one thing you should have to install if you want one.. lol. Nice truck tho'..
