Bart takes us back to his childhood when his running journey first began. Constantly battling with asthma, his mother made him start running to remedy his condition. Thats when he first developed his love for endurance exercise.

You need to stop counting mate/dwelling on how many days you've not done said addictive thing for,(even though you feel proud of it)-you're still putting too much focus on the issue, and allowing the addictive thing to still be in the back of your head. The goal should be to pay zero attention to it in any form whatsoever, but to just be vigilant of any addictive patterns you're falling back into, and make smart choices well before any patterns are allowed to develop. Watch out for trading one addiction for another too. Just some info i've learned along the way having had multiple addiction issues myself.

As "the fastest kid in school" I was often asked how I ran so fast. I would always give the same answer, I always picture my best friend from my childhood running with me. He was faster than me and would always be ahead by a few meters, but I could never surpass him. Moving to the United States I just pictured he was running with me and I was still trying to surpass him with the mental picture of him just always being ahead. It pushed me to my limits to the point where I thought I was coughing out blood (which I wasn't but it was that tough to breathe) but all in all, I just love running.

3:02 I’ve been watching Bart from the early skit days and I’ve never seen his ripped body as openly as this before. Imagine having that type of male model dream body and still not be showing it off but be wearing regular shirts and pants year after year 🤭🤩 And imagine not being the type of person to show off your assets in people’s faces but instead having such deep humility that you can keep such huge things as hidden as he keeps it. That’s probably the side of Bart that I find most admirable - his humility - which says alot, since he’s such a multi talented and purely good guy with an amazing set of morals. I love how he does what he does not to firstly impress people but for the right sake. And that’s also why I wish everything good in the world for him, he deserves it!

Dude for 3 months I put myself into an intense cardio regiment. Ran 5 miles everyday, 7 days a week rain, snow, it didn't matter I was getting it done. I have severe asthma. My family was too poor to provide me with an inhaler growing up. It definitely hindered me athletically and in day to day physical work. Those 3 months have given me a life long high endurance level. I might be broken, bleeding. But never, do I ever give up. Peace and blessings to you brother. #isubbed

Bart - thanks for sharing this video. You've hit the nail on the head whereas it is simply as putting one foot in front of the other, but there's a wall that just makes it so diffcult. It is inpsiring and motivating to hear about your journey and progressions. As someone who's 200 lbs @ 5'7 who's currently trying to shed weight and increase stamina (former asthma kid growing up), it was awesome to hear the stories. Juggling three businesses myself and trying to make time for my health, professional development and loving my loved ones each day. KEEP POSTING!

Alan Aguiar Sorry to hear about that... you’re doing the right thing about getting back in the gym. Just take it slow and do what you can til you’re able to get back to where you were with running.

You make such excellent points here, especially the part about the fact that most of life's challenges aren't flight or fight; they're about endurance and sticking with things. Once upon a time I was quite an athlete, but now I'm 58, overweight and really, really outa shape; and I can totally relate to the stress and anxiety too! The truth is that at this point in my life it's more important than ever for me to maintain my strength, fitness, stamina and flexibility. As I see myself, my friends and my family aging, I see people losing the ability to easily go up and down stairs, to get up and down off the floor, and even to bend down and tie their own shoes! And all of us are feeling stiffness, aches and pains too of course. It doesn't take being a rocket scientist to figure out that this is the direction I'm heading if I don't take charge and reclaim my health and fitness. In watching this video I see that the reasons I'm so out of shape have nothing to do with my age and everything to do with lack of daily action. It literally boils down to failure to make these things a priority and acting accordingly. There's no reason I can't start putting on my shoes and walking out my door every other day. I can start with walking and gradually increase my distances just like you, and then throw in a jogging day each week, slowly increasing what I'm capable of handling and the speed at which I can do it in a gradual, injury free manner. I can do the same with the weights in my basement and with what I cook and put in my mouth! I wanna start feeling better and having more energy. I wanna be out of pain. I wanna have strength and stamina and to be more flexible. And I wanna look in the mirror and be proud of what I see again! I know that your audience is probably 99.9% young macho guys like yourself. But thanks for inspiring this older has-been athlete to just start putting one foot in front of the other again too!

Yes, I would LOVE a sprint day video. I am running nSuns 5 day variant and I feel destroyed with the volume, so much that I couldn't do many accessories let alone cardio. I have time constraints so I can't really do 30 minutes on the elliptical at the end so I tried incorporating max effort sprints on non-leg days. I used to need 2 min+ rest in between sets but ever since I added sprints I'd recover in less than 90 seconds. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how sustainable this approach is versus your 10 mile marathon style runs because I am starting to experience shin split pain in my left leg. I would love to see your sprint day video because I expect it to cover the old question of HIIT vs steady state cardio, specifically for someone running a powerlifting program like nSuns. If steady state is better I suppose I'll have to adapt. I just want the incredible endurance that you aim for too.
