Jason, I have mostly been trying to help my daughter with her budding acting career by becoming her photo/videographer. Not knowing where to go from there you have completely inspired me with a genre I had no idea existed. Even if I don’t branch off from helping my daughter, I am now following you just for that inspiration. Thanks for sharing - oh and your models are lovely also (cant forget them). 😊

I recently did my first shoot with a dancer in London, inspired by your work and @Hkvisuals. Loved it and can totally understand why you choose to specialise in it!
5:03 from what you mentioned and saying on specializing. How would I say that to clients or future clients? I don’t have much clients nor do I always take photography. But I do want to specialize just on portraits but sometimes clients/friends ask for pictures that I personally am not into. Does that make any sense? Not to be disrespectful to them or anything. Like weddings for example. I don’t want to specialize on wedding and I’ve only done one wedding. But I don’t want to get into wedding photography.
One thing I did was I quit posting photos from sessions I didn’t want to specialize in. If I did family photos, I didn’t really share them for people to see. I also think it’s ok to tell people weddings or whatever the request, that type of photography isn’t your specialty. You can do it, but it’s not something you typically offer. Maybe price it a little higher than normal and if they still want you, then at least you’ll be making better $ from it to make it more worth your time. That’s what I do.
