Thanks so much for watching! A lot of people in the comments have mentioned the iMessage issue is an "American" problem, since most people outside the US use WhatsApp. I used WhatsApp a lot to communicate with friends, but it's not as common here, so being able to use iMessage has been a lot more seamless. Also, a lot of you are calling my friends bullies, but looking at some of these comments, feels like the pot calling the kettle black! Haha

Thank you for sharing the process. I went from Android, to iPhone and back to Android since the Note 4 and I have no regrets. A lot of my friends have iPhones and I refuse to switch just to entertain the bubble colors. I am well aware that I miss some conversations due to this but I can live with it. I believe it shows who is willing to be "inclusive" or not. I do use WhatsApp for most of my communication but I am honestly willing to leave people alone so that they can be bubble happy. I am glad you for found a place you can feel more whole with your particular community but I firmly believe Apple has been very very tactical with this approach for this very reason. Ideally, they could develop iMessage as BlackBerry once did with BBM for all platforms and charge non-Apple users a fee. I think they could make a good profit and even I would consider it. I use a Macbook, an iPad but strictly windows for a desktop. I am willing to be flexible in this sense and i think others would be as well.

That was a great video Abrar. Like you, I have a Samsung device. The Galaxy Z Flip 3. This has been a fun flip phone that I have had for just over a year now. At one point, I was the owner of an iPhone SE and iPhone 6. The iPhone was a fun device but I felt like they eventually became the same. With the release of the iPhone 14 Pro, I might be tempted to go back to the iPhone. They always have a great camera, as does Samsung, but that dynamic island is drawing me in. It's amazing that you can flip between apps that way and also keep track of scores on there. If only the iPhone was a flip phone, then I would definitely make the jump. I may still make that jump, but for now am satisfied with my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3.

@sammyt3514

It seems to me you were forced into switching to iPhone mainly due to the fact all your friends have it and you feel left out. That doesn't speak too well for your friends, I must say; 70% of my friends have iPhones too (and I have a Samsung), yet whenever we are in a situation where we took pics/vids that we share, for example, they always automatically send me their pics through WhatsApp without me even needing to ask! And I use the same to send them my pics too, obviously. Same with video calls; who needs Facetime when WhatsApp is available? Or Airdrop when Airdroid (and other similar apps) are available for Android? Not to mention the Samsung DeX feature that wirelessly turns your phone into a Desktop that you can interact with as you would any Windows PC, not just to transfer files. Even if my friends didn't do that, however, I still wouldn't leave the freedom of Android and be held captive in iPhone's walled garden again. I say 'again' because I did try iPhone once back in 2017, when it was clear that the Android flagships were going to get progressively larger, so I got an iPhone SE since I wanted a compact phone with flagship-grade specs and it was the only one available. Well, I realized it was a mistake pretty quickly when I found that the simplest tasks, e.g. getting new ringtones, required a ridiculous amount of steps, not to mention Siri being far inferior to Google Assistant, just to name two issues out of many. With Android, I had full control on every aspect of the phone, which I sorely missed when I had the SE; I could, for example, assign a different ringtone to every contact so that I know who's calling/texting without even looking at the phone in Android, a feature I used all the time. Good luck trying to do that on an iPhone! Long story short, I promptly switched back to Android (Samsung S8) after a few months and have never looked back since. I was briefly tempted to get an iPhone 13 mini, which will probably be the last flagship grade smartphone that's truly compact, but I couldn't bring myself to go back to the iPhone prison after I tasted the Android freedom again.

All of my friends uses google drive. I upload my pics from my iPhone to google drive and my friends upload their pictures from their phone. In that way everybody just needs to upload once. Its super easy plus we can download a zip file of the whole album on our computer to back them up and for messaging we use what’s app. Problem solved. I truly believe in cross platform app and not get controlled by one ecosystem. I just made the switch, too. iOS is weird. Way different than the last time I was on it in 2014. I do enjoy the integration with my MacBook. Been on MacOS sine 2015, but was an ardent Android guy for a long time. Partially because the budget carrier I was on at the time - Republic Wireless - didn't support iPhones until very recently. The customization of Android kept me there for so long. I had things exactly how I liked them and they worked. The learning curve isn't too steep, switching from Android to iOS, but it's noticeable. I still find myself doing Android things...like pushing the power button 2x to access the camera, or my thumb defaulting to the bottom left of the screen to go back. I'm sure I'll enjoy however long I have this iPhone 13. And who knows where the phone market will be in a few years, if it's time to upgrade. As far as people in the green/blue bubbles thing...such a stupid thing for people to get their feathers ruffled over. As long as someone isn't still rolling with a Windows phone, let people be.

I absolutely identify with literally EVERY single point you made in this entire video. Just got a 14 Pro Max after having new Android phones every 1-2 years (mostly annually) since the Verizon Droid. My last one was the S21 Ultra. I had been considering switching for the past 3ish years just for several of the conveniences you mentioned (iMsg, Airdrop, FaceTime, etc.) but it didn’t work out when I tried to switch to an iPhone X a few years back. I returned it within the 10 day window at AT&T. I literally had a note in my Google keep app of the pros and cons of iOS vs Android and little by little Apple Watch catching up to my phones (120hz screen, AOD, PIP for RU-vid, etc.). I’ve had it for the last month or so and I’m STILL struggling with figuring out how to tap the screen when I want to highlight a single word, or have the select all button pop up, how to completely rebuild my keyboard vocab library, etc. I had an iPad Pro I’ve been using for grad school since January which eased the transition a minor amount. The one thing that is still just definitely worse and bothers me every day.. that I’m learning to live with.. is the inferior Notification Center vs the superior Android Notification Shade. The Notification Center on iOS feels like such a neglected afterthought that hasn’t been touched in a long time since the last time they updated it. This in contrast to Android who makes tweaks and quality of life improvements to notifications in basically every update. I used to almost never interact with apps from the app and would do a lot of my text responses in the shade. You can sorta do that with iOS if you catch the banner when it pops up and swipe down fast on it… but it’s not as good and not the same. Also iOS just restricts you in so many little, petty, but annoying ways. Like the inability to start a new Home Screen and put your apple or widgets in the bottom right so they’re easy to reach, or the ability to increase the grid size of apps on a screen or in a folder. Apple is just like, this is what you get, enjoy. I’m learning to live with it and truthfully enjoying some of the simplicity like sharing documents with classmates or photos with family. It does feel better using iMsg and not SMS with other Apple users. What are you gonna do. I just finally got to the point where the uniqueness of my phone was less important to me than having the same OS that my entire family and entire wife’s family has.

Got my iPhone SE (2022) in like new condition a couple nights ago. No flaws and for only $150 on OfferUp. I'm getting the same A15 chip as the 13 series and non-Pro 14s. It's for T-Mobile which I already use but called them last night to unlock it and it took less than 5 minutes.

If you can deal with the outdated design, getting an SE3 for under $200 is the best deal you can find today. I personally hate Face ID as I use my phone a lot in the dark. I drive at night for work. And the notch can get in the way when watching movies or TV shows.

I'm not a big iPhone fan. I only got it because I nearly threw away my Razr 5G by accident. It slipped into a garbage bag after I was cleaning my car's interior and I had to retrieve it from the bin I threw it in. I'll keep my Razr 5G mostly at home for a year since it isn't fully paid off.

SE3 will be my main phone for a year or until House of the Dragon airs in 2024. SE3 will be the last to offer a home button and perhaps Touch ID, LCD, and a sim tray for the U.S. market. The SE4 will look more like the XR with likely the same A15 chip. I had a 12 mini and just HATED Face ID. And games like Forgotton Anne don't play properly on phones with Face ID.

The swipe up gesture can ruin the experience as that also is the same gesture for volume or brightness for Netflix. It's weird that my $150 SE3 has become my most powerful phone I own when I'm only using it temporarily as a main phone for a year. Offers better value than a Duo 1 at the same price. Even though I'm no iOS fan, if you can spend only $150 on an SE3 with 100% battery health, that's a good investment knowing you will get software support for a minimum of 5 to 6 years. You only need to upgrade twice per decade. A15 will be a beast for years to come if two generations of iPhones used it. SE3 might be the most underrated iPhone ever made and more people will appreciate it once they realize they hate Face ID and the notch like I do or miss the home button. SE3 will be the last of the mid-2010s classic iPhone design. The SE4 looking like a XR will make us miss Touch ID and appreciate the SE3 once SE4 is released next year. Will the SE3 be the last iPhone of its kind? - Touch ID - Home button - Notch-less - LCD - Under 140 mm in height - Sim tray The 13 series and SE3 owners may get an extra year of software updates by default since the non-14s have the same A15 chip. So we'll probably reach iOS21 minimum.

One of the main reasons I stay with Android is the unnecessary, sometimes childish behaviors around the green bubble and the lack of inclusiveness. I don't hate a lot of things, but criticism ,or for some teenagers a point of near bullying, for being different. I still use iOS on my iPad but have completely de-Apple'ed otherwise and love the freedom of it all. It's sad that these behaviors are almost seemingly promoted by Apple's plan to people to move over to them. Not all there products are fantastic and I owned multiple Airs, MBPs, iPads, iPods, and one iPhone for a short while. I literally had multiple failed hard drives (back in the day v. flash memory now), a faulty motherboard, two failing touch screens and more. OK, OK, said my peace. Otherwise, this reviewer is one of my official favorites at CNET. She is balanced, well spoken, and honest. Great job!

Owned iPhone since 2008. Owned Android since 2011. For years, I used both together. I still prefer Android for torrents and emulators. Easier to side load apps. Better for multimedia with apps like MX Player Pro which plays all kinds of video formats. My favorite device remains my Flip 3 followed by my Razr 5G. I'm just using my iPhone SE 2016 and 2022 together to give my foldable flip phones a break until S2 of House of the Dragon airs in 2024. Then I can go back to my Razr 5G and start downloading episodes from a torrent app like Flud. I also own a Pixel 3 and Essential Phone which both retired over a year ago but they still work flawlessly while still on Android 9. For fluidity and camera, I prefer Pixel. For hardware and features, Samsung. I think iPhones are fine but I do get bored with them very quickly. I prefer typing on my Android. SwiftKey works much better on it. Copy and paste seems easier. With iOS, the option to select all won't show up. Both platforms have flaws but I prefer Android because it's open enough to correct them. 1. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 2. Motorola Razr 5G 3. Google Pixel 3 4. Essential Phone 5. Apple iPhone SE 2022 6. Apple iPhone SE 2016 7. LG G5 8. Xiaomi Mi 3 9. Google Nexus 5 10. BlackBerry Bold 9900 Owned about 50 phones since Christmas 1999, used 20 different brands, and 6 different OSes. My favorites remain phones that uses Android. I'm thinking of getting old phones because I do miss headphone jack and have a bunch of microSD cards lying around since getting a Switch Lite. But a lot of my phones are stored in my laptop bag in the side pockets. Enjoy your iPhone. Not sure you'll enjoy e-sim only iPhones. Not my favs but we do get the longest software support, most accessories, and so many places will fix it and replace batteries. That green or bubble crap doesn't bother me. Apple used to say to think different. This was for their Macs. Now they want all their fans to think the same. I hate expensive, overrated walled gardens from Apple and Nintendo which makes me more of an Android and Sony guy.

my biggest gripe with Android is the manufacturer skin on top of their OS. If its not the bloatware feel of it its also the non synergetic feel of two voices sort of arguing with one another. With apple it feels like a seamless experience that you can even feel with third party apps.

@cheese the pixels are a pure android experience with lackluster hardware imo. For me the perfect marriage would be Samsung hardware with pure android and no bloatware. Even further than that, though the core of the android operating experience is user creativity in organizing the look of the phone how they see fit. I would love for android to compete with the user and third party apps to deliver its own stellar os design, with partial integration into third party apps like Apple does. Because the stock android skin is very very boring for obvious reasons(they brand user customization and don’t go hard on the design). Third party customization apps don’t have the amount of resources that Google does and I’d love for them to throw their wallet at better looking apps, transitions, homescreen etc. If they spent time in that area I think I’d give them another try.

@@VonJay Samsung and pixel are the only android's that would actually be worth it.

The integration is everything…. Ecosystem is soooooooo good! I like android and planning on having both, mainly for the bigger zoom and fold….. but if i have to have only 1…. The ecosystem wins every time. Nice video

I'm using note 20 and we mostly use whatapp to communicate so no issue on i message. One thing I hate about iphone is the lightning port but thanks to EU, they will move forward to USB C. 😊

And thanks to the EU from 2024 onwards iMessage will have to be interoperable with other messaging services.....so goodbye green Bubbles

This blue / green message thing is just in USA, rest of world use Whatapps etc. It is really hard to understand why Apple iPhones are so dominant in the USA.

The perception of quality. Also, the rest of the world can't afford $1300 to $1800 iphones, but most of the world can afford $200 / $300 for an Android phone.

@@JJs_playground nah bruh. Thats cuz bullying is rampant in the US phone market. Thars the whol point of this blue/green bubble thing. Exclusion for other brands so people are caged in to their eco system. Thats apples promotion plan. Plus the new android phones are more expensive and have better tech.
