go there every monday and tuesday and it’s degrading myself it makes me feel like a failure i have a mental breakdown when i get home because of how degrading it is
Why kumon sucks. 1. First off they give you the basics. Sure at first it’s easy but then they keep repeating. Then when you go into the more advanced levels, it’ll get harder because they keep repeating the basics. 2. Once you’re at the advance and you ask for help they say “Oh just look at the example.” Then when you get it wrong you get in trouble. People deserve money by working hard, not by just using papers and not even EXPLAIN IT. My mom thought that he’ll was helping and you get in trouble for smiling or just 1 frikin doodle on your paper.
My mom has brought me to Kumon for years and I hate it, and I had to quit because of my Mom’s cemo, and so my mom told my aunt to tutor me (over FaceTime) and I have progressed VERY fast, Kumon does not go on the pace I like, but tutors will go as fast or as slow as I like, Kumon brings you to the same level as everyone else, but a tutor will bring you ahead (in my case) and I rember crying because my Aunt praised me for my hard work, I was so so so happy with her because she praises me while no one else does. Kumon gives me a sad vibe, school and Tutoring doesn’t, this is why I hate it, Sure I memorized the multiplication tables because of it, but it was so depressing it was the reason why I had trichotilomantia in the first place (pulling of hair) and it taught me how to cheat and lie. I hate it, I hate it so much, if my tutor was able to bring me tears of joy over JUST praising me, somthing that was never given to me, I would of stuck with it for many more years, but it didn’t, and it would of made me even more depressed whene my mother was in cemo therapy, thanks mom for not letting me go back to my He’ll.
I am 11. When you start Kumon, they put you to the lowest level. All I needed help is Geometry, not the math from Kinder - 6th grade..I want Kumon to help you with the things you need help on...because Kumon frustrates me because ALL I NEEDED WAS HELP ON GEOMETRY
Ok that's true though, they just start me on like nursery levels, but by the time I get to the actual important things, I'll already be in like year 10 for GSCE!
plus they give you STACKS OF WORK SENT HOME CUZ UR SICK like bro give me a break, got some level 85 cold or smtng and what do you get for dealing with that. HOMEWORK
I hate kumon. No no no, you don't understand I *HATE* kumon. Why? 1.kumon doesn't teach you anything, get that trough your head mom and dad, they just cramp random knowledge into my head and it just made my life worse 2. Kumon doesn't explain anything. They just show you random problems and expect you to Finnish them in under 10 minutes 3. I don't remember a single time where I didn't cry during a Kumon test. It's the most stressful thing in the world. Kumon is the reason for my anxiety. Each time I do a worksheet I try to hold back the tears and stress So I just simply rebelled. I have like- 90 unfinished worksheets hidden in my closet, if my parents find out I haven't been doing my kumon because the stress it causes, I would be in DEEP trouble.
While the math is horrible enough, the fact that they give 2 HOURS of homework EVERYDAY is not only depressing, but gives us unwanted and unnecessary work, as if school didn't give enough. It wastes money and time. The reading work is rather fine, but the math homework is what gets me. 1 packet of 6th grade level math takes almost an HOUR to complete. And they give this every day. Every week. It puts kids in a depression state, where the teachers are too mean or uncaring to understand. They show no shame for anything. Kumon is garbage.
The point of learning math is not to be "fast" at it. Neither is the point of reading. You need to be able to comprehend what you're doing and apply it to the next level. Learning should not be based on rote memorization.
I’m 11 years old I have been doing kumon for 5 years and I’m begging my parents to let me quit but I can’t and I need help. On top of kumon I have school work and sports and etc. and I need serious help
You people think kumon is so bad. Ha you know nothing. I started in preschool and I still go. (BTW. I'm a freshman right now). hate it soooooooooooooooo much. Don't tell me you have it bad. I have it worse
why I hate kumon chapter 1 When I was 8 my mom said "hey kids do you what to some FUN " I thought I love fun I want to go. But the fun was KUMON!!. the first time I want was fine I guess . chapter 2. when really started hating kumon after two whole years of kumon I really started hating kumon hating is not a strong enough word I despise it from my very cor . I started watching people destroying their Kumon so I won't destroy mine . chapter 3 this is my 4 year of kumon my mental health was go go down i dream of burning down my kumon center
The reason why i hate kumon is that they dont give you rest, everyday homework homework homework even if your sick they dont give a shit. They still give you homework and when i asked them why so much homework they said “so you wont forget your lessons” But the lesson was about simple addition (it was back then) like HOW WILL I FORGET SIMPLE ADDITION?
My Kumon centre is very far away and I am forced to do my homework whenever my parents see my bag. They don't even give enough or even good education. Its a waste of fuel depending on how far the centre is. Its a waste of money waste of time. Especially for a Muslim its very hard. I have a Muslim friend and we go to Kumon together. It was Ramadan last year and my friend got sick. When you are absent, you still get homework I was sick one time and I still had to go and do homework. They don't even teach properly, it gets very stressful and I really want to leave. It makes you hate life and makes you think you are a loser. They said Kumon is the best but false. IT SUCKS SOOO BAD
No it doesn’t even help if I’m being honest, only good for elementary/primary school children. I’m 14 and I’m on level f, I recently joined kumon after leaving before the pandemic and back then I was on level f too! I got forced to do level d and e for “review” even if im in the higher sets/classes for school. Honestly if you’re in the UK it won’t do any help for GCSES, especially if your children are studying them. It only stresses them out with extra work on top of revision. Let your children live happy lives, don’t pressure them to be the best in everything. You should just accept them for who they are no matter what scores they get in a test. Coming from someone who’s been academically pressured their whole life. This only taught me to lie, cheat and deteriorated the trust I had with my parents. I no longer trust them to do what’s for my best interests. Don’t go to kumon unless you want literal hell on earth.
So my son 8 has fallen two years behind at school, I have tried helping him myself to no avail and have also tried personal tutoring but all he did was play up. I am thinking of starting him on kumon for a year or so basically until he gets to where he should be. Everyone commenting that they hate it your advice and opinion please.
The New Covenant highly unlikely. When I was 11. I took a test got 98 percent and they put me in the level of d. I ended doing fucking basic shit like adding, subtracting, multiplying, and division. I asked the lead person in charge to skip the review and she said no. I ended up doing review for another month. Just to go to some basic fraction shit. I recommend you don’t go. They probably put in a section you already know and not let you skip it. By the time you will finish that section your whole class at your main school will probably behind 2 times ahead of what you’re doing in kumon. At that point you will be doing just doing stuff you already know over and over again. The amount of homework they give you is insane. The homework you’ll be doing won’t even help you. Your grades will probably go down because of kumon because you’ll be working on kumon and not doing your main school home work. I’m pretty the person who supposed to check your home doesn’t even check it.( in my case at least) Also homework will be with no matter what. Mom and Dad in car crash. Kumon gives you homework. In conclusion, don’t try it. It will do more bad then good
ur son probably hates you for this, i know no one that actually ennoys kumon besides the psrents who just sit there and yell at you without realizing how repetetive, annoying and difficult it is
