Add ons can get expensive. I have the Boeing Quadrant but use my FlightSimProjects Airbus sidestick when flying 737-800. I can't quite justify the £299 yoke price..yet as I mainly fly Airbus but I enjoy both variations.
I just found your channel and subscribed. I'm binge watching your live streams at the moment. I have just come back into MSFS after a 6yr lay off. I went with the Xbox series x and the Thrustmaster TCA Captains pack and I love it. I enjoy flying any of the Airbus family and I'm not a youngster as I turned 71 a week ago but feel 40 😆.
This video helped me out, getting into flight sim I like the Yoke more than the Airbus stick but the Airbus throttle with addons look far better with more buttons - Thanks!
I am with you 100%, It works much better than the advertised Boeing Throttle. My thoughts on the design made no sense to me either. The bravo throttle breaks after 2 years due to faulty wiring. And Honeycomb is awful getting back to you with all the politics going on there. I would avoid at all possible.
I use the airbus flight stick and throttle for a320 etc, but also use the airbus flight stick and boeing throttle for flying 737 etc. I prefer the flight stick over yoke because of size
I think that is a very good idea. Not sure why Thrustmaster did not make a better throttle quadrant for Boeing, very strange indeed, I wish I could buy those levers already fabricated so that all I need to do is simply attAch them and they work out of the box.
Hey AirNOTT, at 3:00 you mention the ignition controls, if you use MobiFlight you can use them for the ignition and fuel cutoff levers in the 737, really handy also fair enough for using this setup, I actually dig it lol
Thrustmaster Warthog joystick and throttle for fighters. Honeycome throttle quadrant, TM Boeing yoke and TPR rudder pedals for commercial aircraft. It's whatever floats you boat.
I'm obviously late to reply and you may not see this. But I just very recently picked up the TM TCA Airbus Captains Pack. Before that I had flown the Airbus on MSFS and even as far back as FSLabs in P3D using a yoke. I'm now looking at replacing my very old (25+ year) CH Products yoke with the TM Boeing model. But most likely I will do exactly as you've done and use the Airbus throttles with that. But then again, I've been flying computer based sims for 40+ years and for much of that time before I purchased the CH yoke I had used only a joystick as yokes weren't really that commonplace in ancient times. Bottom line....if you could figure out how to fly with a set of dowsing rods it really shouldn't matter to anyone else. Great content and you've earned a new sub. I'll be back for more.
I see you 🙂 Wise words indeed, but honestly the outrage my setup causes in the comments counts as engagement on RU-vid and other platforms, which pushes my videos further so in a weird way, it’s a good thing! What a time to be alive…!
As a long time simmer..1979.. .I have to say this...If you love to build home built simulators.. The best thing to do is mix it up a bit!!! It's your sim...you can hang Christmas lights on it if you want to and nobody is going to stop you... I like to see people build their sims just the way they ( not you) like it.... I grew up building models and the most fun I had would be getting a box of model planes from all sorts of different kits and making all sorts of wild looking aircraft... I still like to order "junk garage" boxes of stuff that people want get rid of... In my simsI build I have garage fuul of one of a kind set up that makes me happy.... So there you go..... HAPPY SIMMING.. ENJOY YOURSELVES!!! LIFE IS TOO SHORT.. 😊👀
It simple, They put all the money into the yoke and the boeing throttles were average, On the airbus side they repainted the stick but the complete throttle kit is amazing. So no wonder you use both
I just wish MSFS would model the Boeing more realistic, with parts randomly falling off, avionics shutting down for couple seconds and assists adjusting your control surfaces without warning... 😇
This is what I'm going to do as when I use the sidestick it feels weird, I fly planes in real life and lots of the flying and your control input relies on how the plane feels to you. I would only use the sidestick I have if I could feel what is happening when I do things, also the Airbus throttle quadrant can hold more things in less space.
Nah, I have absolutely no issue with it whatsoever. The only thing that would trouble me somewhat would be to fly a fighter with a yoke. But the other way around is fine too.
From the reviews I have seen, the quality of the Boeing throttles just aren't as good as the quality of the yoke, so would be more worth while to get something else than something that matches I might start saving for the bravo, just because it includes so much, and can be used with airliners and GA aircraft, plus all the autopilot controls
I bought bougth the Airbus and Boeing Captain packs. I have to say, Thrustmaster is good on quality but the Boeing quadrant just doesn't feel as good and not on par with the Airbus one! I reckon they were just being lazy with the Boeing quadrant.
I’ve never been a fan of the PC flight sim community due to the quintessential dichotomy that is really nice people who wanna help vs. the 15 year old MFS Airbus pilots without having any real world formal training or even a private pilot’s license who have to point out and comment on every impurity that isn’t consistent with the real FOO… 9x out of 10 these types of people are milquetoast nothings outside of aviation so I pay it little regard to begin with but oh my lord those people drive me absolutely mad. Nevertheless, I find it laughable that people have a problem with the type of controllers you use to play a video game; idiocy prevails anywhere and everywhere you go I guess. Keep doing you, your setup is awesome. As for the people who have a problem with it, try taking your anger out at the gym or punching a pillow or something.
I saw your videos but I can't wire this up correctly for the ATR. I want to use the Boeing Yolk with the Airbus Quadrant, like it partially is in the ATR-72 but having major issues. Any assistance?
I'm same but opposite way round, use boeing throttle with airbus side stick haha, screw the keyboard warriors! Lack of detents slightly annoying though but I ain't buying two sets of throttles.
@@AirNOTT hey man , thanks for the request , im just new in MSFS and i dont know if should get a controller Stick or a Yoke thats why i was asking. Thanks a lot
If you’re new, I would start with the stick. They can often be had for around £50 in the UK, and it’ll give you throttle control, rudder control and a tonne of buttons - everything you need to get going. You can always upgrade later if the interest in the sim intensifies and doesn’t fizzle out.
