I don't understand why some government run institutions/establishments prohibit filming in its premises? Isn't that like counter-productive? How else could you promote knowledge and newer visitors to the area when such things are prohibited? Well, I'm not in charge so it is what it is I guess but just saying....I'm an Iloilo native, born and raised to my teen years, I haven't even seen the inside of that prison when it was still active back in the day, but seeing the facade makes someone curious what's the big deal and for some future visitors to actually see a little snippet of its interior would want them to visit someday. Oh well.
Yeah, thanks for mentioning that because I thought the same thing. I did speak with someone who was staff and its just their policy. The inside of the prison museum does not look anything like a prison, just the outside. All the best to you and thanks for pointing that out Ed. You US Navy?
Safest place in the philippines. If you notice every block you will find men in uniforms. Glad to hear you appreciate our city. Best thing about iloilo is every road are connected and you have more options which way you want to go to avoid traffic.
During the Spanish era prominent families houses or mansions are circling the towns' plaza just like the molo mansion.Everywhere you go the different towns set up is like that in iloilo.
Salamat gid sa pagbisita sang amon ciudad sang gugma. Got hungry watching you eat at Tatoy's. Growing up we had to drive to Villa Beach to eat at Tatoy's. It was always a treat after a day at the beach.
Thank you for featuring my My City Iloilo I am born there and grow up but i left to work on another country its been a while that i didn't see my own City it brings me a beautiful memories on ky childhood while watching your blog thank you
I will live in Iloilo someday, I am currently in Cebu now, it's frustrating here, people here have issues especially I am Negrense that prefer to speak Tagalog.
@@dasigkatama029 True. I went to Laoag once. When I tried to co-ride with an old lady on a tricycle, their chief means of transpo in Laoag, and there were not many, the lady asked me where I was from. I said I am a transported Ilonggo in Manila, she offered to pay for my ride. Wow! That gave me a good impression of Ilocanos, so kind and accommodating, not the kuripot Ilocano people say they are.
@@armandosune3839Sa Cebu naman kapag nag Tagalog parang nag dadabog ang iba. Saka sometimes malala pa Cebuano yung reply nila, my god nag effort rin ako magsalita nv Tagalog cause its not my first language also

During the Spanish era, Ilonggos were very friendly to the Spanish government since many of the affluent people of Ilo- ilo and the Panay provinces were descendants of the affluent Spanish.

Looking at this video makes me say that Iloilo is at par or even more beautiful than many of the cities in Europe and the US or Asia. It's beautiful touring it in the daytime, and also, I believe, even more amazing touring it at night when all the lights are turned on in the bldgs, churches, schools, mansions, hotels, malls, and the parks and plazas, and by the riverside.
Iloilo City is the benchmark of the ideal "Philippine city": clean, people-friendly, best place to establish business/ to invest. Way, way better than Metro Manila.
Did you know.Iloilo became the last capital of the Spanish colonial government in the Philippines after they have capitulated Manila to the Americans. On 5 October 1889, due to the economic development that was happening in Iloilo, the Queen Regent of Spain raised the status of the town into the Royal City. During the Commonwealth era, Iloilo was prosperous and was popularly known as "THE QUEEN CITY OF THE SOUTH",The title is a moniker of the previously bestowed decree... by the Queen Regent Maria Cristina of Spain in 1896: "La Muy Leal y Noble Ciudad de Iloilo". Iloilo was the second Spanish colonial center after Cebu in the Philippine Islands. It was founded in 1566 when the Spanish established a colony area between the towns of Ogtong (present-day Oton) and La Villa Rica de Arevalo. In the coming of the Americans also in the turn of the 20th century, institutions like Central Philippine University (the first Baptist and 2nd private American university in Asia and in the country); Jaro Evangelical Church (the first Baptist church in the country); Iloilo Mission Hospital (the first Protestant hospital in the country); and the Convention of Philippine Baptist Churches (the oldest Baptist organizational body in the Philippines); where established.

@@ThirstyTunaTaco Glad to hear that..Indeed, we Filipinos are naturally friendly/ welcoming especially to people who are visiting our place..Welcome to Our City Of L❤️VE..ENJOY AND BE SAFE
I noticed there are not a lot of dogs running about in your videos. Does Iloilo control that issue and how about the nightly karaoke is that an issue? I just am looking for a little more quiet than Cebu and Dumaguete offer, thanks.
That's one thing about the Philippines and dogs; they're wild no matter where you go. There might be exceptions in some places, but I see them everywhere.
No, you can't! I talked to the person in that department. I did go into that museum for a tour and asked the director. We had a lengthy discussion about filming there.
