I live in Africa and I don't see too many people maybe in the cities, majority of Africans live in rural areas and there's no crowding at all. Stop counting Africans we have the resources and riches to sustain ourselves it's just that others steal and brutalise our environment and meddle and sell weapons to thug politicians and warlords. Africa is fine our partnership with the Chinese has shown how the right business partners can assist Africans meet their goals and not just self-sustaining and grow. My guess is that this will end brutally. Even nowadays we see migration waves of several million people in Sub-Saharan Africa due to droughts, starvation, war etc. and this will only get worse with climate change and an exploding population.

My grandma had 12 babies, my mum had 1 because of urbanization and widow hood, me i have 2. Currently for urban women the trend is 2-3 children, 4 if the couple are having offical jobs or successful business since the focus is on education for children . Actually, our "population boom" in Africa has also "presented" us with plenty of opportunities, which other continents around the world do not have. These countries around the world for some reason don't understand that wealth is created by labour and that the scarcity of labour will come back to haunt them. Today, they cannot sustain their population, having reached the abnormal sub-replacement fertility rate (0 to 1 child per couple), with serious economic and social repercussions as a result. Reversing it to the normal replacement fertility rate (2 or more children per couple) is easier said than done. Hence, African countries are aware that a productive economy does not only depend on education, ingenuity, innovation and so on, but also enough workers to begin with; so, does the enjoyment of the wealth created by our labour. That can only happen in a country that is sustaining their population normally as all African countries are today. This "demographic dividend" we are expecting in Africa must be accompanied by rapid economic growth as well as attaining good leadership or precisely GOOD GOVERNANCE, the lack of which is the most intractable problem we are facing in Africa since independence.

I can’t believe in the near future 1 in 4 of the global population will be African n by the end of the century 1 in 3 not counting the African diaspora globally like in the US, UK, Brazil, and the carribeans. I have traveled throughout Africa it amazes me we in the West like to talk about over population in Africa actually per capital Africa has one of the least population around the world.
