For most people, either you like DS or you hate it, I've seen people say it's the worst crazy and i've also seen people say that it's their favorite map. I personally like the map as it's challenging but not insanely difficult
When I first saw it at is debut before it was highlighted I didn't like and then I thought the ost carried when it was added but once played it. I really like it
The other reason is because of Amphibous Billow, which some players loved and how Decaying Silo works on chaos servers (mainly they are lazy for the 2nd-3rd button)

i remember why i never really liked the map after it was added into the game permanently. it's due to the fact that ds received SO many buffs and because amphibious billow existed. thanks for jogging my memory.
you all forgot the one main reason, crazyblox added this instead of amphibious billow (which is the perfect fe2 map, no question) because he needs to fill up crazy diff
When DS was still a highlighted map, it was just not fun to play because of how many buffs it got. There are parts of the map that are still pretty difficult, and making a little mistake will get you killed (for example, the 2nd truss in the first tower part). When DS became permanent, I was angry since I did not like the map during the highlight, and I wanted some of the other maps to get added instead. One day I checked it out eventually, and I honestly love the map today. The OST, the design, and the fun challenge it brings. This map is a pain, but it's a fun pain.
i feel like a big reason people hate DS was because when it first dropped as a highlight, it was already pretty difficult (way more difficult than how it is currently) as well as the platforming of the map changing nearly every week so it was difficult to learn. Ive gotten over hating Decaying Silo and i think its a pretty fun and intense map when u get it consistent but i can understand people not liking it
For me, i think it has a pretty original theme from what I had experiencied in other maps from the community. The OST is a banger, the details are good and a nice overall gameplay. However, how there isn't perfect maps, the lag is incredible massive and it ruins the gameplay a lot. Disregarding the lag issues, it's a good map. It's such a great feeling when we see that the community is getting new creators and developers, getting more originality and different designs.
honestly i’ve just accepted silo being part of the game. yeah the map’s fun and all and as a map alone it’s really fun with a lot of replayability, but the history of its highlight days constantly being changed every week really brought the map down for a lot of people. having to re-memorize the map every week basically. i’m sure if the map released as it is now, without the constant changing during the highlights, then i’m sure it’d be getting a lot less hate than it does now
I'm very in the middle of the spectrum. I don't really hate the map, but I don't like it either. IMO it didn't need three separate buffs (maybe the first one but definitely not the other two). It was fine where it was as just a map slightly harder than Sandswept Ruins, it did not need to be an AVM competitor. Like I said, I don't hate Decaying Silo, but it's easily my least favorite Crazy.
I've played fe2 for a long time and I never understood why people hated some crazy maps but correct me If I'm wrong but is it because some people find the maps too difficult or the gameplay is too hard? I've never had that much trouble completing maps, maybe cuz I play alot of fe2 but I think most of the crazy maps are great
When I first saw Decaying Silo, I loved it! Though the only problem I had was lag, which might be because of my 4-5 year old computer not being able to handle it. But it is a fun map to play, watch others play, and to listen to.
I like DS. What I don't like is how it was during its highlight period. The Constant changes drove me MENTAL, and there were several parts that just had bad gameplay. I'm happy with how it is now though!
I like DS, and when the revamp comes to the official game people’s minds will change, the only reason some people don’t like it is the zip line you do after the first jump which has a chance of making you rag doll until lava gets to you. It happened to me
I personally love DS. DS (for me) It's fun, creative and not to mention, I LOVE SIDEJUMPS! I'm happy DS got to be added, because by the time, I was already bored with AVM. After DS, most highlighted maps are just normal, hard or insanes. So I'm grateful with the addition of DS. I always play in LDM (Low Detail Mode) so it doesn't cause an absurd amount of lag, also not making it bright. I was jumping in JOY when DS was permanent. That day, I started practicing DS buffs after buffs. I also liked trying to do tiny little air-dives during DS. It was so fun. I'd say DS's decoration and theme is nice, since I wouldn't have known what's a silo in the first place. Another reason I like DS.. "WOOOOOOAOAOAAAAAAAHHHH-" In conclusion, I really like DS (if you are dumb and didn't realize) because it is really fun to play and it has my favorite song, DS V3. DS V3 is harder and fun. This is also maxi's best map, so don't hate it. That's all about my feedback on DS. Love it!!

People opinions always different for me Looks fun including ost was make me spirited to play and tower part ost is so amazing🔥 And become my fav map But the problem here are If i use phone so laggy also after official map update the lava looks closer and my device more laggy (kinda rip my Potato Device💀💀), During Highlighted map week 3 oh man... That worst update from this map, And yeah... Why people during Crazy Difficulty always choose DS (or AVM?) btw poor leftover Crazy Map Like BM, PC, and IP (For SSR still have more used, kinda), Yeah... For Secret ShortCut was removed but i already finished this map (im so bad at this game💀) I thought will removed after 1 or 2 weeks later but it didn't removed after almost a Month😅😅😅 (sorry if i have Wrong Information) Well.... I honestly prefer Stygian Sewer to be added to an Official/Highlighted map than this but it's not a bad choice . However it's seem like one of hardest map in solo/ button explosion event , but it's relatively one of the easiest in Multiplayer if used right but still , pacing is also need to be aware. The design is good , gameplay is not too hard to react except maybe the ladder on the first Tower part .
Decaying Silo is so far my favorite crazy in the game, but I can definitely understand the hate it gets for the map. What pisses me off though is that people attempt to pass it off as objective and crap on others just because people like it. This applies for EVERY map. Some people will like it, some people will hate it, then it sparks a war. Happens a ton in the FE2 chat, especially pro servers as far as I’ve seen.
DS has got to be my favorite map, it’s OST is just amazing and it’s really fun to play, but even as a DS lover, I didn’t exactly like it at the end of the month when it would be leaving. I only really started liking it after it was added permanently, and it quickly grew on me. I think the majority of the hate decaying has comes from its days as a highlight map, when every week the map was constantly altered, and people just got sick of having to memorize a different layout. I think that’s part of the reason why I didn’t like the decaying remake in fe2cm. I like it a lot more now, but at the beginning of its development I felt annoyed that decaying was getting another update. Don’t get me wrong, I like the new details and everything, and Maxi certainly has every right to do what he wants with his map, but it was a bit annoying having to basically relearn the map, and I think a lot of people are going to feel the same way they did when the map was a highlight if the remake is added.
I find decaying silo fun actually. its not that hard to beat, it took me less than an hour to beat it solo in fe2cm. I understand if some players find it hard, but a little practice will make them better at the map. But really, decaying silo is my 3rd favorite crazy map, and ive never heard from anyone saying, that decaying silo is bad/unfun. Now im planning to beat it in fe2 as my 5th crazy map :>
I would describe the map in two words "DECAYING FPS" 👌 yes the map is detailed but come with a price of being extremely lag for low memory device even for me
I actually enjoyed DS after its nerf. I had lots of encounters of ppl hating DS cuz its apparently "too unforgiving..." Imo, its a great map. My personal fav crazy map. I just ignore those haters and laugh abt how they cant beat the map but i have to agree before the nerf, DS was notoriously hard
DS just received WAAAAY too many fucken buffs. AVM exists, thats a good challenge with a fun pace that punishes you for being out of line for a second. we dont need a second AVM - other crazies are already challenging enough in their own way (Sandswept being tricky to navigate, Ignis for its funky pacing and genius design (a slope instead of any towers lololol), Cheese Moon is just the OG Crazy to begin with) - DS has NONE OF THOSE. im not playing FE2 to suffer the same way i do in Decaying Winter! go do your own thing! the whole map is horribly paced, with button fences at start that stop you from saving at least a SECOND of time, the first tower having the drain section which has no reason to be there with whacko pacing to boot and being 0.3 seconds late results in your death. then its just a straight path before the map just SLAPS you with another tower - what the fuck is even going on?! and lets not get started on all the shortcuts that plagued the map at its out-of-highlight release. and the fanboys...oh my god the fucking fanboys. every 2nd-3rd Crazy on a good Pro server? DS. its not fun, its repetitive as shit, and the whole theme just does not work out with the bleak colors if you are shoved DS every 2nd Crazy. please just let me play anything else - im just tired of this map, and this is the only time i really wished for a map to be removed out of the game. not tweaked, not revamped, just outright deleted. the OG map makers for DS whipped up a v3, which seems to address a good chunk of the issues with difficulty. i REALLY hope it gets added instead of this. i just want it to do something of its own.
Tbh,i dont like when people hate maps.Because,people trying to make really good map like Mar or maxi,and maxi just got hated for his map got added.I feel like people hating it,bc ds got added.Not amphibious Billow.But still,ds its my fav map in whole game,i really like pacing in this map,and ost very good too,i feel bad for maxi.He made literally almost best map in-game,and people starting hate him,and his map.

i think another very big reason why a lot of people (including me) dislike it is because it stopped any of the other highlighted maps (specifically, amphibious billow) from getting in the game. basically, instead of getting a really good map with a fire soundtrack, great gameplay, and minimal lag, we got a mess of a map that you can’t play for two seconds without lagging so hard your game crashes. imo the only good thing about decaying silo is it’s soundtrack
It isn't hated at least from my perspective. Everytime theres silo in the map choice it always getting picked. If more than anything i think its overrated.
@@Akashi_Zento no it's WAYYYYYY easier than Avm because Avms Ending is the most strict timing we have ever seen in a fe2 map. Plus the whole map is pretty hard while decaying silo is more consistent with its difficulty throughout the entire map. Avm has a huge spike in difficulty at the first climbing section and it's very hard.
I homestly like Decaying Silo, the music does not deserve to fit a Crazy Map butthe bext level, Intensity 6: Brutal. I think it’s s really fair map and I experience no lag what so ever (I am running on a Windows 11, Victus, i5 core) I think it’s an overall good map, I hate AVM because of how quick you need to be that being quick will cripple your momentum, and not being quick will do the same thing, and there’s no middle ground. I just struggle on that 180 platform jump on one of the pillars after the first section of AVM, you know what I mean
DS is honestly, kinda too hard for me, as I have a skill issue since I forgot how to play, but each time I make progress here makes me feel divine, this map should be treated better, as it's the ultimate challenge, either to your skill, either to your sanity.
Most DS hate/controversy comes from the majority of opinions that other highlights in its month were wayy better (Amphibious and Quarry for ex.) And people got angry about it, the map is good design-wise dosent make sense but its decent design wise and gameplay, but overbuffed.
never really liked decaying but also never really understood the hate towards it, it's probably because im in chaos servers alot of the time and everyone wants attention yea budget avm btw, though i beat it more recently due to the fact that im more skilled in avn than ds (beat avm in lb solo on a trackpad) people really have to stop giving good fe2 maps hate, stuff like cj is getting hate because of its shortcuts(pre patch) and it being "overvoted and or overated). degenerative community are in at the moment.
sure, a certain map you hate has flaws. every map has flaws, there aren't any perfect maps. you don't have ANY right to call them mid if the map is good.
@@sihirkoca_ytvexana488 old one is pretty bland in terms of gameplay, the soundtrack isn't the best and the detail is kind of minimal new one is pretty detailed, soundtrack is really good especially when you reach the first tower and gameplay is relatively similar but the changes to it are pretty good
U dojt understand the comunity all the maps that are added now its just crazy maps but what about the new people ? They cant play the game anymore because no one likes the other maps just because are easy or normal maps and thats probably why new people just dont enjoy the game (my opinion)
No, the main reason the map is hated is that it kept getting buffed in the sole goal to be as hard as AVM, because the old version was really great The map also gott laggier with that, around the final week of decaying silo, it has gotten nerfed in fe2cm to a playable and really enjoyable state but when it finally got permanent, elite decided to ruin the map and buffed it to oblivion back to its hateable state which got the map locked in and impossible to fix also doesn't help the fact he added an easter egg that skipped 75% of the map, srsly clown behavior of him because it's not even his own map.. Thankfully mar optimized the map so its not as laggy as it was during march
As a DS fan myself, I don't get all the hate. I remember when I was practicing highlighted maps in FE2CM, inviting people from Discord to help. And someone introduced me to Decaying Silo for the first time ever. At first, I was annoyed, but as I got to play it, I liked the looks, the atmosphere, although ignoring the OST. It was nice, but wasn't a priority to me, so I didn't pay attention to it. And then, it got highlighted. After that, I *had* to play more of it if I wanted to beat it. And I started to fall in love with it, at the same time I began appreciating the OST. I was sad to see it go, but surprise, it was permanent. I remember when I saw the news, I was overjoyed. Although the haters kept annoying me, I was so happy to have my favorite map be in the game forever.
i know that there were better maps to be permanent such as billow, skywork and jungle, but its been almost 2 months, move on already lol decaying silo is really fun on both gameplay, ost and details, thus it deserved to be perm as well
I hate ds because it took WEEKS to patch the broken shortcuts like they couldn’t have been that lazy. AVM will always be better than this and its my personal opinion
The OST is the only reason I can let this map pass. The gameplay is just so horrible. With the twists and turns, it's just literally impossible to sightread. It also has many extremely awkward jumps. Overall a bad map (the revamp also sucks but not as bad as the current)
