I suspect that the Southern African growth rate is strongly correlated to that of South Africa due to its size relative to its neighbours. What happens if you adjust for that, or remove it since it’s an outlier. Also what are the growth rates of individual countries?

Northeast Africa is growing because foreignors want to be deeply rooted toward the horn of Africa because of the strategic location. So it make sense to develop that region for the future. That's where the gateway off of the continent is Egypt and the middle east. it's commerce rich IF those countries can get young leadership.. anyway.. it's about location.

Only Botswana and Namibia are making great strides and seem like they can go it their own. S.A is already on a downward spiral. It also has more unique challenges than any other African country. East African countries are a bit different. Also, these two regions have different relations among their people; they've different types of investments and resources.

The real reason South Africa is not developing despite good infrastructure and highly educated Black population is because of the concentration of wealth on the European colonists and the economic policies of the State since 1994 that cemented Apartheid Economy namely GEAR, and Market Fundamentalism (Inflation targeting, budget surplus, and lack of land reform). The economy of the 1980s is still reigns in SA because the ANC is unwilling or too captured to unbundle it, so that Black people participate fully in the economy. Even Jacob Zuma only began to bring in Black business and think about Left leaning reforms when he was weak and on his way out. Hence, South Africa is the most unequal society on earth, with wealthy Whites and poor Blacks

🤔🤔🤔🤔. Atomic Engineering such Green Hydrogen as mega source is Already established in SADEC, Namibia specific. Best Roads in Africa is in DADEC, Namibia to be specific (Wode Maya video: Namibia has the best roads in Africa). This is before considering the devine blessing Vast oil discoveries all over Namibia, wich is said to be top 4 or above in Global reserves, clearly tripling the GDP in five years and again in another case massive Gold discoveries and the Largest deposit of Rare earth Metals in the world tripling the GDP again in another few years. This is well founded research and strategic estimations. Renewables/Energy is not another, with mega energy output systems already approaching ready state. #The above energy developments aimed to reduce energy poverty in the region and beyond. #We are Africans first, then are in strategic blocks not for competition but completion.❤

@jilokizito1705
@jilokizito1705 9 дней назад
Yes, S.A and Namibia have the best infrastructure, but again do you realise that South Africa's infrastructure is getting wasted and vandalised gradually each passing day? Some industries have collapsed. Roads are no longer being well maintained unless it's in certain provinces like W.C. The state of that infrastructure is becoming quickly as dilapidated as the country's downward spiral economically. While these E.A countries are growing, S.A is collapsing.
@jilokizito1705
@jilokizito1705 9 дней назад
It's being vandalized each passing day, and you can't compare the South Africa of today, 2024, with that of 2020. The S.A government isn't doing it any favour, too. The thing is, South Africa's so-called world-class infrastructure isn't world-class anymore. Ask those who've been around for over 50 years, and they'll tell you.

@@jilokizito1705no the problem with South African infrastructure is that we tend to rather build something new than to take care of something old, so the matter of SA infrastructure being dilapidated isn’t because infrastructure in general is falling, but it’s just that in some areas it has, but none the less more infrastructure is being built much more, much faster than the old dies out, so the matter of the fact isn’t that SAs infrastructure is getting less it’s just that we are getting more while at the same time neglecting the old

Most Southern Africa nations, especially South Africa, are still great 👍. Just that they got independence recently compared to the Eastern front, who have been independent for almost 80 yrs. Another key important aspect is the population, which gives the East an upper hand.
