I did an internship in a photography store, and I learned that Fujifilm also just doesn't ship ws many cameras as they could, so the prices stay the same. You can sell an used Fuji camera for nearly the money you spent on it in the first place.
@@dedclownsRfunny not correct, according to articles and interviews. They flopped with X-E3 and manufactured too many resulting with full warehouses, and discounted prices. They also did not anticipated X100V popularity, which spiked after 3 years of of the camera being available without wait, and when it skyrocketed they thought it would not last, and did not ramp up production because it was past mid cycle for this particular model. They are just being careful, and you can't blame them for that - fads come and go too fast nowadays with all the social media insanity.
Well, that may be true, but something has to be said about the marketing/advertising power of hundreds of RU-vidrs pumping these cameras in hundreds if not thousands of shorts, and long videos designed to say the same thing… look at how cool these simulations look. Other than that most people shoot using the automatic setting and would not shoot manual, if their life depended on it
I was sony shooter fir 15 years, with the old sony alpha system. I sold all and tried my friend fujifilm not a long time ago. Now I got two fuji xt cameras and I love photography more than ever.
Same here, I have a old a6000 I've been shooting with for many years and I recently got my hands on an equally old x100f from my friend and boy is the difference huge
It‘s actually not about not being able to keep up with demand. They actually confirmed that they keep production low in order to ensure price stability of their products. Technically they definitely could produce enough cameras for everybody.
This is not entirely correct. Fuji announced they doubled the production of the X100VI and misjudged the demand. But they also said they can only scale it up so far because that camera is in their words "mostly hand built" and production is not scalable in the way a standard mirrorless might be.
Me too, after the idiots at amazon warehouse stole my 4 month preorder and shipped me bed legs, a couple of days later a 3rd party seller had my camera on sale
A lot of people seems to think that the camera is important to take great photos. Instagram is full of shitty ”street photographers” with X100s, Leica and Sony. An expensive camera and some presets won’t make anyone a good photographer.
Been using Fujifilm since the original X100. I'm glad TikTokers found this gem. I have the X100F from when it came out and it's wonderful. Great to see people discovering photography again using proper cameras.
After shooting Fuji X for the last 10 years and searching for something small - I didn't want to shell out $2K for the X100v. I bought a 8 year old X-A1 instead. With the 27mm lens - amazing everyday and travel shooter - less than $300 for a mint body.
I feel like I'm one of the rare fuji users who still loves editing raws. I personally didn't care about the film sims, I just really liked the manual dial system they had going on with the T series and no other brand was really doing that.
@@dailydoseofcatvideos357 I would not pickup 100 over XT5 when they are in the same pricing category. XT5 is a far more capable camera and built for the future and thus also makes it easier to sell in the next 3 years if you decide to upgrade
@@michaelb9940 Exactly what I was thinking :) Since it just got It's upgrade from the X-T4 last November it's still fairly new and I've heard a lot of good things about the quality!
In India Fuji has not yet stormed in, but they are trying to do the same with lot of collabs and workshops.. But sadly here only 10% of the people who own a camera is technically sound and actually understand the craft..so fuji is a gem among illerates here .
Their film simulations are amazing but they should give the option of producing heif images (I don't think they already do), not just jpeg, so one could immediately share it or tweak it further. They could avoid the hassle of shooting raw to a lot of people
It’s weird cuz I always see certain models sold out but I’ve seen one person shoot with a Fuji camera in my entire 7 years of shooting photos and knowing other photographers
That classic film look in this case obviously only refers to dropping off your film in some random lab and just having them printed back in the day. Not to actually working with your negatives to get the best possible prints out of them.
Don't get me wrong, I only shoot fuji, but i do wonder why other people also do. I find it really hard to get accurate colours sometimes and the sensor is very blurry due to complications demosaicing it's x trans layout. I really like the aesthetic though, and the lenses are such good quality. I have really enjoyed my experience learning with them
x-t1 used for 600$. x100v used 2k. At this point you can just ignore ebay as a secondhand market for cameras, I hope all these tiktokers stop hyping the shit out of these cameras, ive recently visited paris and ive seen ppl with a x100v hanging around their neck while taking photos with their phones
I made the switch to fuji two years ago after shooting with nikon for over 10 years…. Dont regret it, not even a little! Still have my old nikon gear but only shoot fuji now
I think camera image processing is classic, hence it is expensive! I don't have it; but I have a dream I am harbouring in my mind and heart for years to possess one.
A great camera, unfortunately just doesnt have the same range of lenses as fuji (which says a lot cause fujis lens lineup isnt exactly the best, good, but not great). Would love if nikon made a mk2 of the full frame nikon DF
@@CianMcsweeney there’s many lens adapters you can use from canon ef Sony e mount (even with full autofocus) Leica and Fuji mount to Nikon z mounts and plenty of third party lens no one talk not to mention all the amazing nikon f mount lens like old vintage Ai and ais lens which nikon have official and unofficial f to z mount adapters for.
I like Fujifilm a lot, their cameras are very fun but none of them can nail that film look as well as just shooting film. I’ve worked out it’s more economical for me to just shoot film, as I can still get rolled for around $5 as my local lab re-spools them. I also just collect, repair, and sell cameras which helps with the costs. Overall if you want raw photography just shoot film, Fuji does a great job but if you look in the right places you can still shoot film for far cheaper considering the insane mark up their cams have now.
Happily I bought my Fuji’s before the craziness started. I shoot film as well, FM2n, FE2, F100 and F5 Nikon, but you can learn a lot quickly with good digital if you pay attention.
@@powbobs Yeah i started off with a digital canon, it helped a lot for me and got me my first few thousand photos. But your lucky you got it before the craziness because then they were actually a viable alternative for shooting film, nowadays there’s just no point in shooting Fuji unless you have money and want to be “aesthetic”
@@powbobs nah I’m saying the aesthetic of having the camera itself, not necessarily the photos it takes. Lots of people are buying them just to hang around their necks and act like they are real photographers, or at least that’s the case with the x100’s
@@raidriar01 Why do you care what other people do with their cameras? I take pictures with them. I like the dials because I grew up shooting film and I like that part of the process.
The wait on an X100v has just got me wanting to go back to the E-M10 IV. The wait is ridiculous, the current pricing as well, so I might as get something that’s about half the cost and 80% the same fun.
I am probably one of very few people who sold their fuji for another brand. I had an xt30 and loved it but wanted something slightly smaller and cheaper as I really don't need much of the features from the xt30. I now have a 13 year old sony nex 7. While this does exactly what I need and nothing more, I obviously miss the ease of fuji's film sims.
I’d say the main reason is how much fun it is to take your Fuji camera and go out to shoot whatever you like. The film simulations are su fun and the image quality is top notch
Nah, I’m one of the many who don’t want one. I did own and use the original Xpro1 and also EX1. The real reason they are hard to buy is down to intentional low supply to maintain premium price.
Because people prioritizes trends over value. Same as with apple (lowercase intentional) products. There are lots of options with better value. Prices are ridiculous. Like to buy a cheap film camera and buy film / develop for a whole year
Hopefully just ordered a Fuji XT30 ii if it comes back in stock lol. Selling my Sony NEX7 which has been a great camera even now cant fault it but I also have an XT1 and building up to sets of telephot and prime lenses just does not make sense. Alao the need to upgrade the Sony to the A6400. Was considering between the Fuji XT4 , XH1 and the XS10 but the XT30 ii was all I really needed, same sensor as the XT4 for a lot less and a big upgrade on the XT1 I already own lets hope they get stock in soon.
Not keeping up with the demand😅 In marketing speech this means: Just Gatekeeping the product. And I am tired of it - was looking for one but now I over it.
Get an old Nikon from the F series and just shoot with film. My FA was one of the best investments I’ve ever made. No filter, editing technique or digital equivalent can ever compete with actual, real film.
I don’t get it. Just buy a film camera lol. There are vintage Canon and Nikon cameras all over eBay. I got a Nikon FA in mint condition with a 50mm lens included for $140 a few months ago. I can use any film I want in it, including Fuji. On top of all that, it’s a Nikon so it will last more than a lifetime. Hell, I’m 35 and it’s lasted 2 years longer than my lifetime so far. I’m glad retro tech is coming back and I love that old school film photography is still relevant, but no digital camera or editing can compete with actual film quality. And like many people here have probably said, the camera isn’t going to automatically produce good photos. A good photographer can take amazing shots on an old flip phone camera if they want to. Having a good quality camera is important, but actually understanding how cameras actually work and comprehending the fundamentals of photography and composition are what really matters.
So I have a 64 cannon fx with 2 lenses and an external flash that attaches over head (yes it’s film it’s also my first camera) any advice on where to go for maintenance and just the difference in image quality between digital and film
The XV100VI looks great, but why would anyone elect to be locked in at a specific focal length? Sure the film emulation looks cool, but why not spend a few minutes developing your own in Lightroom? I think I’ve made at least 8 so far ranging from Cinestill 800T to Kodak Gold. I guess I just don’t get the appeal.
I have an XT1 and XH2s. Can def say that the XT and XH line do not suffer from the popularity issue lmao. XT is meant for photography and XH is meant for video but i only do photography and got the XH for the better ergonomics. The problem with the XH line is that the screen only folds out, so if you were shooting at an angle you'd need to fold out the screen, but this is impossible if you rig the camera up as a dedicated video cam...
I ended up ordering a lil old Panasonic Lumix ZS100 with the Leica lens collab or something $440 used vs about $600 USD new I’m excited to shoot with it:D it’s a lil concert and travel friendly 4k point & shoot, zooms a good amount, 1” sensor, starts at f / 2.8 for good bokeh, and it looks sweet. I’ll sell you it jkjk
They do look nice and give you the feeling of yes I'm a professional. Even though most of them don't know what professional means 😂... It is cool though
I have pentax, canon, sony and m4/3 and should stick to that but They've got me with the aesthetics, that I will eventually fall in buying some X-T20 or 30 sooner or later.
Love, that while the price for a Fujifilm still rises, the price for all other cameras drop. I rather buy a Sony and 5 old lenses than one Fujifilm. And let's be honest the retro look is not more than a one click in every image editing suit.
Funny how now everyone wants a Fuji whereas 10 years ago other photographers were laughing at us for buying mirrorless cameras with EVF instead of DSLRs. ❤ if you had a Fuji before 2020s
@user-zx9ou4jw7f well you won’t use a 35mm for portraits so sure, x100 won’t give best results. But I’m including other mirrorless cameras, including Nikon’s, Canon and Sony.
