@@curtiscooper343 Yeah. And then he tried to pass it off as “she’s the only one that believed in this soul mate thing”. Even though he obviously approved and didn’t go against it when it was convenient. Then his beef with Dr Doom turned her into a monster. One of those worse Johnny moments that they pass off because he’s family.
@@guyfeeyeti375 It is extreme but it is Doom ( he’s mostly honourable and doesn’t accept humiliation) and Johnny never learns. His family always gets him out of trouble. Not to say Johnny isn’t a good guy because he is a good guy. But the guy always messes around girls or takes unnecessary risks. And this guy was flirting with the girl in front of Doom after the confession! How do you sleep with someone’s fiancé then seduce them in front of the enraged boy friend. Honestly it’s not like Johnny is new to being the human torch. Considering he may have ruined Dr Doom’s happily ever after this is a cheap price. Dr Doom is willing to risk his soul and square up against marvel’s devil once a year to save his mother. He willing to walk in unprotected and allow a psychic supervillain capable of controlling the whole world to have a fair battle of wills. And the guy couldn’t enter Doom’s head ( the purple man). Reed Richards is Johnny brother-in- law so despite Dr Doom’s talk on it never being cured. There’s a high chance Reed will figure it out later. And maybe Johnny will actually be a little considerate and less head strong. If anyone died due to Doom’s rage at being humiliated who should Johnny blame? Doom who he made wear a green hat in front of the whole world who wants to get even with him (but knows no one will ever allow him to). Or Johnny who proposed and went through with seducing someone’s fiancé. While Johnny literally had his possible soul mate with him for weeks or months!
People forget how emotionally nuanced characters like the Fantastic Four genuinely are. Johnny, when he's not immature, egotistical or comic relief, is actually a really emotionally fragile person with moments of imposter syndrome and can go through as much as any person can
i wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people don't give the fantastic four credit... partially because we've had over a decade of the main "Marvel" media excluding them as much as humanly possible thanks to Perlmutter and the MCU, and the FF don't have as much classic star power to remain culturally visible like the X-Men do
Ummm...correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this after Johnny had a beef with Dr Doom which turned his then gf into a monster whom he cheated on while wearing a bracelet that literally let them feel everything in this issue? Yeah.... there's a reason Victor called Reed a hypocrite
@@dibyaudhdas1978are you actually siding with doom right now? The same person who destroyed an entire universe because an alternate version of himself who had the perfect life told him to stop being petty
The fact that Johnny involuntarily destroys everything he touches, and can't even cry about it is so sad. Really shows how much of a curse superpowers can be.
@@artyd42He sleeps with someone else's bride. You could say he didn't know who she was but he himself was already in a relationship during that time he did it. If anything this is karma.
This is like the human torch parody in The Venture Bros, who needs to live in a vacuum chamber because being exposed to oxygen causes him to burst into flames. Even though he's not allowed a normal life, he's still happy knowing the people he loves aren't in danger, and believes in their ability to find a solution.
the original human torch who was created before johny, was actually an android who catches fire when exposed to oxygen, so his creator kept him in a vacuum chamber.
To be fair, Johny sort of had it coming by sleeping with Doom's bride to be. *Especially* after Doom promised the Fantastic Four he'd bury the hatchet with them if the wedding went through.
Yeap. Johnny deserved this one hundred percent. Also Doom was keeping his word. He ordered every weapon and plan he had made for fighting the Fantastic Four to be destroyed immediately. Except for this Cosmic ray gun because it was too dangerous to dismantle quickly so he was going to do it after the wedding. Then the Human Torch fked up and Doom went "fk it" and blasted him with it
I'm not sure if you know this but the Thing is such a soft guy. Everyone judges him by his appearance and he's left alone (most of the time, outright avoided). On the inside, he's still human. He grew up in a tough place and tries helping others as much as he can
The fact that Richard "heartless" Reed says something as emotionally articulate as goong "he physically cant cry" is 1) amazing 2) maybe the writers have finally figured out Stan wasnt going for "comeplete dick" but "stiff upper lip scientist"
Just one thing...that doesn't mean he doesn't cry, it just means his tears evaporate as they come. He experiences crying, like his chest heaves and he feels bad, he just doesn't literally have liquid coming out of his face
That sucks so bad, he can’t even live normally now. When reed says the reason he never cries it’s just so sad. Edit: 7/17/2024: I’ve never gotten this many likes before
@@huntertezzTrue they aren't remembering that he caused all these problems by Having an affair with doctor dooms fiance you get what you get buddy. He also cheese on that skrull girlfriend. So i'm not feeling sorry for him.
Remember, this all happened because Johnny slept with Dr. Dooms finance. And tried to convince her to leave doom and come with him instead the night before their wedding. Safe to say he had this coming. 😂
Emplifying each power would be evil. Reed becomes liquid and out of form, Ben would be paralyzed into a statue, Johnny would kill or burn everything in his area and Sue would disappear from anyones perception, becoming a ghost.
Each is a different flavor of horrifying to be sure. Doom was likely aware of what amplifying the cosmic radiation mutations might do but he was so upset with Johnny in particular that he didn't care. What was supposed to be a burying the hatchet moment just ended up intensifying the animosity between Doom and the Fantastic Four.
I wanna feel bad for him, but this is entirely his own fault. Bro slept with Doom's Fiance right before their wedding, and that's why Doom did this to him. Bro even said he'd stop trying to conquer earth and tried to bury the hatchet with the 4. But Johnny decided to Johnny.
Don't forget the part where he screwed up his relationship with his alien skrull girlfriend. And that's the reason why I hate the character so much. He's such a stupid man child
FINALLY SOMEONE TALKS ABOUT THIS As a Johnny hater he got exactly what he deserved. Doom had to put him in his place after ruining everything at the wedding. Idrc that he went through this because sleeping with the fiancé of your arch nemesis who BTW was ready to stop tormenting the FF, made peace with Reed by actually asking him to be his best man, finally started to respect Grimm and Johnny ruined it all. Also he’s a player that constantly cheats so like yeah eff Johnny for being the worse
Yh he definitely deserved it. He has so many love interests, but decided to sleep with Doom’s singular one. Doom doesn’t love easily. The guy is too proud, noble and stoic to easily love other people. There are very few people he loves and it’s always complicated. His mum. But she’s dead and disowned him for “betraying” his friend to save her. But from Dr Strange’s dialogue it seems like that is what he wanted to happen. Because while he could get Mephisto to give him his mother’s soul. that wouldn’t guarantee it going to heaven. His mother wouldn’t be happy. And he would tarnish his honour. But by making his mum think he did - She would reject it (as she’s his lovely and dearly missed mother), disown him, and her noble sacrifice would allow her to go to heaven (which is what happened). The comic leaves it ambiguous as Doom doesn’t answer when Dr Strange suspects he planned it that way. And leaves Dr Doom as he knows it’s sad. Or Valeria Richard. Who is his beloved god daughter and share a special bond with him. It’s always nice to see their interaction as he genuinely cares and loves her. But they can’t usually be together as she knows he would kill her family, particularly her father, if he could. And she can’t change that. They only have disagreements when she’s saving the fantastic 4 and it’s never personal. He’s a good mentor to her…though he did try to conquer the world secretly through their projects one time.
@@dandelion1469 Johnny was in a relationship. Rejected another proposition for a relationship. Then decided to sleep with Victorious in the midst of a relationship. Johnny Storm may be an immature, annoying brat. But he knows how to pull I can’t deny that.
@@barrondub1125 i mean yea definitely not cool what he did but if the girl was willing to cheat on doom she didnt love him so i think he lucked out better tp find out now than latet
@@dandelion1469 Lots of 'could be' came out of this. People change and make mistakes. There is no way of knowing the potential future here. It's equally possible that Doom makes good on his promises to be a better version of himself and they go on to have a long and faithful relationship. A single mistake neither defines a person nor serves as evidence that they are bound to repeat the same mistake. It was definitely a breach of trust and Doom was correct to be upset but I don't think it's definitive proof that she didn't love him or could never love him.
Makes me wonder how Johnny manages to breath when he flames on. You’d think his flames would burn all the oxygen away before it could reach his nose or mouth.
@@megamandrn001 oh, also, the marvel Ruins story actually plays with that one if I remember correctly. Assuming I’m not misremembering, Sue is the only one who survives the mission in that universe, with Johnny, Reed, and Victor (Ben refused to go on the mission in that timeline and was replaced by victor) all dying, while Sue became permanently invisible and also blind because of it.
In this case I get it. Ben’s saying Johnny’s tough, but I think Reed’s thinking about him too. Saying they can’t tell how bad he might be taking things.
I’ve noticed that’s usually the case with smart character, either they say the wrong things or can’t help making jokes. No matter what though they can’t shut up
@@quaktoons331 well Sheldon’s a gross exaggeration of this type but Peter park is a good example of not shutting up when needed as he can’t help but makes jokes.
I'd like to go on record that what happened to Johnny was not by accident or more exactly unprovoked. He slept with Dr.Dooms fiancé(and during said time had doom been married forgiven all resentment towards the fantastic four and no longer be their enemy.). He also had a girlfriend(or life mate it was pushed on him but still in a relationship). So i still feel bad for him but kind of deserved it.
I hope we see moments like this when the FF comes back into movies. I love that they're Marvel's first family but it's these moments that ground them really really well
Yeah Johnny screwed up big time his soulmate and him were literally bound so she could basically feel him cheating and even she mutated and left back to her people saying she'll be back for a cure.......for Ben. Not mention doom was literally going to bury the hatchet reed was his best man at the wedding t'challa and namor were there and when everyone was shocked when it was revealed namor just burst out laughing 😂.
It's moments like this while I really hate the character so much. He's such a d*** man.Child and causes problems for everyone around him including himself
From what i heard Tears can help human to calm down Now imagine you are devastated and want to calm down But the thing your body produce to calm you down is evaporated is so... Sad
Can you do a video on how Johnny had this coming as well. Fucking his relationship, doom’s relationship and the new peace that doom and fantastic four had.
Can't produce tears. That's sad, cause besides ur expression, tears shows it to b true. Most don't know this, but when Johnny flames on, he burns away all the dirt an impurities. So he dosen't need to shower or brush his teeth.
There is a issue of ultimate Fantastic Four, where Sue storm comes into a bathroom to see Ben Grimm crying whilst holding a mangled razor blade or scissors. A single panel explained so much about how the Thing truly feels.
I don’t refer to the members of the Fantastic Four by their hero names only their real names in my mind. It’s because of the Fantastic Four Earth’s Greatest Heroes. They all refer to each other by name. So that’s how I refer to them. They are just Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben to me. That’s Marvel’s First Family.
To add to that Reed apparently has to remember to keep his body in his natural human form or he’ll start to melt essentially. Think of the character from Doom Patrol.
She didn't omfg pick up a comic book Her alternate reality versions did (in 1234 and life story) but main timeline Sue never did, she's ride or die with that dude (she literally took down the avengers 1vall for him)
@@JeiCat-zg3iq First, the two are actually involved in the comic THIS video is based on; with moments of tension between Reed and Susan. Second: I want to make it clear that I love her character when she's done well. But someone wrote it, or Marvel Editorial mandated it. It's character assassination to me. It is ambiguous as to whether or not they touched naughty bits, but the temptation was there and that is at the very least; not something to ever forget.
@@XXMatt0040XX no they aren't???? Namor only appeared in the wedding and in nothing else in this specific run, he only interacted with T'challa even and not once with Sue The tension with Reed and Sue is on the first few issues cuz he barely helped for Ben's wedding cuz he was making the time stopper thing incase someone tried to ruin Ben and Alicia's wedding
Johnny did kind of bring it upon himself though tbh. He did sleep with Dr. Dooms wife and this is Doom were taking about so of course it something terrible like this
It's like so weird that Doom is so petty to the point where he'll do things to the other fantastic Four. Everyone knows they strictly hates Reed we're completely justifiable reasonings because you know reads evil in every timeline except this one. I get that's some invincible level like angstrom Levy type " Well other versions of your evil so you must be too" Like at the same time main timeline 616 read has also multiple times now gone off the fucking deep end and went evil on his own right. Like he's the leader of The fantastic Four but unironically he has been a larger threat even as the individual 616 version of him then Doom ever was
The sheer amount of times his projects went Close to destroying the world... He does not need to be evil just the fact he's soo smart and still stupid is already enough reason to hate him.
This story specifically wasn't to get back at Reed in any way, Doom had offered to bury the hatchet with the F4 and even made a show of having all his weapons and plans to fight them ordered destroyed, as Doom had proposed and asked Reed to be his best man at the wedding. Johnny slept with Doom's fiance behind his back and the cosmic beam he hit Johnny with was one of the more time consuming to destroy weapons he had left so he hadn't gotten it dealt with by the time he learned what Johnny had done
When you meet the sentries always attack the ones on the extremes not the one in the middle it dosent matter if the one in the middle have the least health
Wasn't the context like... Dr. Doom: *becomes chill, get's engaged, invites Fantastic Four to his wedding* Human Torch: Get's with Doom's fianceé, ruins the wedding... Dr. Doom: I'm about to Ruin this Man's whole career.
Dr. Doom will always be menace, he likes what he sees, going to cop it, if he sees someone enjoying their life going to ruin it, people asking for refuge, why is that his problem
