Hello, thank you for your video. I cannot put in any war ear drops in my dog and he gets ears infection all the time. Even with a muzzle on. At the vet he could not either, he jabbed him so he would sleep for some minutes in order for him to clean his ear and put ointment in. Any advice?

Hi Dr. Pete one thing you didn't mention in this video :/ and I wanted to share it with your followers here as an extra reason why take your doggie to the vet early on the ear infection. Here is the story: my doggie developed a couple of health conditions that required prescription medication. Unfortunately the prescription food had an alegen for her (brewers rice) that caused her ear to get swollen and stuff and eventually lead to an ear infection. I thought that by changing the food things were going to go back to normal but once the infection was there and her ear still had stuff in her ear that I was not aware of she scratch herself on the wall and develop an ear hematoma also called Aural Hematoma. Wich leads to a surgery and we all know that surgery isn't cheap. So hundreds of dollars later she's recovering from surgery right now. I hope her ear infection and Aural hematoma just recover now. Don't make the same mistake I did treat the ear infection As soon as it gets noticed.

my dog started getting ear problems (head shaking, scratching) 12th of dec . 1st used ear cleaning solution and drops didn't worked , so i went to the vet dec 15th . They gave her Steroids and drops , infection was getting worst (now head tilt, lips hanging down and falling over when walking) back to the vet dec 19th . This time they gave her antibiotics and more drops. They told me if this doesn't work they have to do a "deep ear flashing" under anesthesia. this was booked for January 12th . When i collected my dog that evening i've been told they could not clean his ears but they found a solid yellow mass behind the ear canals. They referred me to a "specialist" for a CT scan this was done on January 28th they found ; mild this, mild that and yes a middle ear infection . Solution : Pain relief !? today 7 weeks later my dog in still suffering, even worse than b4 , she don't eat, and cant walk I have spend over £2000 for NOTHING!!!!! I dont know what to do. I have lost trust in Vets !! They all want money and give a shit about our pets. Pets for them are just money making objects

@@scbyb i stopped going to vets , I stopped steroids , antibiotics and went natural. Lions mane,olive leave , green lipped mussel, quercitin and hemp oil. She is much better but still not 100% . She always has big bulgy red runny eyes and is constantly shaking her head

I put it in and that afternoon his ear went to the side like yoda and he keeps shaking his head now. Im feeling so bad cause I hope I didnt hurt him as I can see he is in alot of discomfort. Hi, I wanted to know if my dog will have long term effects from a mistake done at the veterinary. I took my dog immediately after seeing him walking with no balance. I told her about my dog scratching the ear and she saw the ear and said it was ok. The veterinary told me that had a stroke and I did schedule an appointment with the neurologist. She gave me prednisone for the pain. I came back after 5 days because my dog keep shaking the head and walking with no balance and I requested another doctor. She checked the ear and told me my dog has yeast, they put some medication in the ear and told me to continue prednisone. And now he is walking normal.

My westie had a really bad 👂 on 22/12/19 sunday so i took him the nxt day n the vet stood @ the door n said yes ill give u drops i used them 4 2 wks n the dark redness went but it was still liquidy inside n is still this day and nov 2022 his other ear started being bad not red just head shaking n stratchin n to this day they r both bad im tryin to treat them myself cos im not goin back to that vet and the other vets in my area r so xpnsve

I brought in my french bulldog last Nov 14 /22 to a vet. They gave him Clavaseptin tabs 250 mg for 7 days and a Trizedta/dexamethazone/Baytril ear medication. He is more playful now, but he still tilt his head and has a facial paralysis on his left face. I known it’s only been a week and he is so much better than a week ago. Will his face will go back to normal?

I have a Treeing Walker Coonhoun she has an ear infection aà9I'm putting drops in her ears every day and it is not resolving the problem. I'm unsure what to do when I call the veterinarian's office they just want me to buy another box of the same medication. Clearly I may be best to find a new veterinarian this was an emergency in a new place that we've moved to so I had to find a new veterinarian quickly. Dogs with all the errors are probably much more prone to this problem I wish there was something I could do to help her beyond what the vet is doing. My 3 year old black lab is always shaking his head, there are tiny scabs on the back exterior of his ear and on the inside flap of his ear that i believe is due to him scratching at it often. I have been flushing his ear out once a week with triz Ultra keto flush, putting my dog on his side and filling his ear with the fluid close his ear flap and massage his ear for a few moments, then I wrap my pinky with a dog ear wipe to try to absorb some of the fluid before I let him loose and he instantly shakes his head vigorously. I have done this for a few weeks now and the scabs are still in his ear. Always dry blood. He shakes his head less than before and there isn’t any foul odor. Are the scabs from him itching his ear with his leg? I don’t seem to notice him doing it often but what else could it be?

Thank you for the video. My french bulldog was treated for an infection and took oral and topical medication over several months. I've noticed he still tends to shake his head whenever getting up from a nap or laying down. Is this something that should completely go away?

Do NOT use water!!! That can cause ear infections! Don't use peroxide either, buy an ear cleaning solution made specifically for dogs!!!

I have a very large pitbull and he has an ear problem, He will not let me put the medicine in his ear. He doesn't bite but is so big he pushes me out of his path to escape. He will let me rub it but not if holding any ear solution. Any solution on holding him down and avoiding the possibility of getting bit? Can't afford another vet bill.

Hey Wendi Opheikens. Thanks for your comment. Yeah I can imagine. Dogs are often sore in those regions and do not always understand that we are trying to help them and will therefore try to snarl or push us away. I will make a tutorial on how to administer ear medication in dogs in the future, but essentially you will need another person to hold his head steady in order for you to administer the solution into both ears. If you have a door that opens to a wall you can try and restrain his body between the door and the wall so that you have a bit more leverage using the door to restrict the area in which he can move around. This worked for me in the past and I hope it will be of help for you as well. :)

My kid has ear allergy n scratching n head shaking now some discharge from ear. vet gave ear drops without any bacteria or mite testing under the microscope. So its just experimental basis drops not sure shot in india. Plus my kid doesn't allow me to put it in his ears he starts running around n starts playing hide n seek n says catch me if you can 😅😂 Having big problems Taking to the vet is not a solution in india where all they care about is the money they can collect from the pet parent. Disgusting!!
