In car with doors closed insert key into ignition 6 times in 10 seconds leave key in and turn to on position press and release the lock button on the fob turn key to off position remove from ignition doors lock then unlock. You're welcome.

So my remote did nothing after my wife programmed an old remote while I was out of town for work. When I returned home and tried to use my remote start it didn't work. The doors would not cycle and nothing would happen. My first thought was dead battery on my key fob remote. So I went to Fred Meyer Jeweler and got a new battery. Tried it in the Fred Meyer parking lot and got nothing. I Google a few RU-vid videos and had tried to reprogram the key fob twice with no luck. I tried again tonight after watching this video and got an idea. I remembered that when I had a locksmith program the 1 and only key I had the first time, the truck started once or twice but it wasn't quite right. I had to press the lock button once and start button 3 times instead of 2 times before the truck would start. So tonight I tried again while doors closed inside my truck to cycle the key on/off 8 times and back to the on position and heard the locks cycle. I turned the key to the off position and pulled it out of the ignition and tried to unlock and lock the doors. Nothing.... So I decided to do it again 8 times and then left the key in the ON position and then started my truck with the key manually. It started up and the locks cycled again. After a few seconds I turned off the truck and the lights flashed and the locks cycled again. Pulled the key out of the ignition and then tried the lock/unlock buttons on the key fob and they fkn worked. I tried my regular remote start cycle which is lock button and then start button 3X. It started. I'm back in business! So long story short. Try other cycles. I have a 2011 Ford F-350 Powerstroke diesel and it took 8X on/off ignition and then end in on position, then start the truck. Then turn off the truck and take key out of ignition and try lock buttons, Lock, then unlock. Then remote start. They all worked! Pumped and excited. Although I ordered 2 new remote start keys the other day. I suppose I will have backups now. BTW, I had the last key cut at the local ACE hardware for about $3. Which I will return to do again. Then try this cycle with each new Key. If only have one key and it's not programmed you may have to call a locksmith like I did the first time who has a scan tool made to program keys.

MY 2012 Focus does not have a freakin ignition or any other place to stick the key into! Nobody seems to address this. It is a push start ignition.
