Why is NO ONE talking about this Milwaukee Packout setup ???  

I like that the boxes are filled with Dewalt tools.

That's a great idea, but it's also $400-$500 more than the original setup you had. Lol

This is basically the tool box I inherited from the 1920s but on a dolly made of plastic. The industry knows a cabinet on the bottom makes it easier, and drawers in the middle are helpful. Why did it start off as a bunch of stacked tubs in the first place with some tackle boxes on top?

Awesome tips for tool optimization. Right now I'm running different configurations of backpacks, but the packout line is looking promising for the future. Loved the fact that you use different brands in unison, I've never understood the guys who have to have every tool from the same manufacturer.

I feel like next year Milwaukee will come out with a rolling box with the front cabinet door. But they also need to make it in a way that the cabinet won’t get dirt and water inside while moving it through the job site

Been doing that for about 10 years now. Thats the way the Dewalt boxes were originally sold with a Dewalt dolly that has adjustable arms enabling access to any box without removing the other boxes. Those dolly's are still available as are rack mounts for trucks vans and shops. Great Idea but its not new.

I have 3 kids so I can confirm that I have had some issues pulling my tool out.

That dolly is the only packout item I've ever returned. Somehow super heavy and difficult to open/close (you need two hands and another limb). I've instead built a simple plywood base, added casters, and put a packout mounting plate on top. Now I can just roll drawer units around. And that rolling xl box is nice, solid, fits a lot of stuff.

Spend $1000 on organization when I can just "borrow" a shopping cart and have instant access to all my stuff.

That dolly is shit and everyone knows it. The fact that it doesn’t have a cable release for fold up basically makes it worthless. Milwaukee needs to make a Gen 2 and it would be a GREAT option. Or make rolling bases of different varieties.

Unfortunately, the dolly sucks. The wheels are to narrow / close together, go over some uneven terrain, the stack wants to tip over. Should have put the wheels on the outside.

This is what I thought immediately when I first saw the packout debut--the bottom component has to be drawers or cabinet pretty much anything that doesn't open from the top. My current setup is 2-drawer then 3-drawer with any optional organizers on top. I also rigged a little something that unfolds and fits over any open cabinet that can be used as extra functional flat surface area. I'd love to add a cabinet but I don't have any toys worth putting in it yet lol. Good short vid

Definitely doing this. Was thinking about getting the drawers for this exact reason. But the dolly and garage wall box is a great idea.

As an electrician. I got the cart and run the 2 drawer, medium box and 2 half size organizers (one shallow and one deep) with my packout backpack.

The price is considerable depending on how much money you can play around with, but the trade off for most would still be worth it. It’s not only time that you’re saving but also ease of mind. After a tough day, having to unstack a couple of boxes to get one thing can be aggravating. Could literally be one thing that stops you from doing another job that day

Dolly is plastic mainly, mine broke after a few months. Hopefully milwaukee finally either reinforce their dollys or their cabinet, or finally release a roll box that has a front door.

Thought of this a while ago when I bought the 3 piece set initially as just some cheap storage in my garage while I was doing mobile mechanics work and it definitely worked but was so annoying unstacking everything everytime eventually sold it got a proper box and a smaller top chest for the bed of my truck when I do my mobile work and am eventually either gonna work up to a dedicated service truck with toolboxes or set up some packout boxes on a slider that can hold the weight so that I can have boxes at the back and not need to climb into the bed as long as I have space to slide it out

People who buy pack out gear are the type to pay for a years shop warranty when you get a free year warranty in Australia anyway. Buy a tool chest for your ute or van and just have a empty tool box that you pack with what you need because chances are you don't need 90% of what's in that for every job

Ammm, milwaukee packout is a system meant for contractors, mecanics and other blue collar profesionals. That means those people really put some work out there in the job site, they lift stuff, go in and out of buildings, carry tons of tools, need tons of stuff, use ladders, staircases and walk long stretches daily to earn their living. If you dont understand how that aint a problem and that the packout solves 3 main things that aint accesibility then you are not tired of anything cuz you aint using it daily to earn your living. The packout solves transportation safety. Those boxes are not gonna end up all over the vehicle in a sharp turn, a hard stop or a bumpstop. The packout solves transportatuon by foot in and out the site. It means you can take your boxes, latch them together into something with wheels and never worry about them falling due to a rock or incline while gokng into or out of the jobsite. Finally, it solves organization, those boxes are meant for you to designate a place for each thing, cut inserts, have separate ñittle cubes and drawers so that you are not searching though 2 or 3 identical toolboxes with no organization in them (appart from your traditional buckets filled with tools and stuff). They are kot meant to become a tool chest. They are for the jobsite, kot for the shop. If you have them for a fixed place, you need a tool chest, if you are still complaining about getting things out of the botom box, you need to realize you are not a contractor

I carry a lot of power tools around for work so I use the Milwaukee Tote and carry the mod box you’d normally place at the bottom for the handtruck packout And an organizer for screws…. Also place my drills and demo bag on top since there’s space Whole setup costed me a lot but it’s well worth it since if I have someone helping me load/unload my setup then I can easily mount everything without installing stuff versus the past when I had to carry various individual bags and buckets filled with my tools and power tools lol

I would enjoy seeing someone loading that loades dolly into a pickup without unloafing the dolly first. Years ago Sranley had a rolling tool chest. Loaded it was next to impossible to load into my p.u. without help. I got rid of the thing in less than 2 weeks. Impractical.

One thing I have learned since this pack out stuff has gotten so big is that the ones that use it are usually the slowest workers and that would be good but they are slow and deliver average results if you’re going to be slow at least make it perfect not look like i could have done the same thing in a quarter the time and have the same results

I had two of the rolling tool boxes. After a while I started hating them. I sold them and bought the 4 wheel dolly. Best decision ever.

The flex on the dolly, as well as the extra width was a no-go for me. I run about 15 different packout stacks across two trailers, and there’s a few items that didn’t/don’t make the cut: The dolly, the drawers, the casters for the drawers, the front door cabinet, and the flimsy mount bases. I run dewalt tools (in addition to my Festool stuff) because most everything other than the 1/2” impact is better than Milwaukee. I run the packout systems because they are the best thing I’ve found on the market. Replace the wheels on the box base and they are perfect really.

I started my pack put system with the dolly (used on Facebook) and a half size hard box with a half size bag. Next piece is gunna be the drawers or side open compartment.
