I am grateful for these contents and advice. I was a sinner with Porn addiction, carnal thoughts, masturbation... I got to a place where I decided it was time to end this because I knew I was holding back from God though professing to be a Christian. Sometimes I look back and it feels like the life I live now through the Holy Spirit's leading is unbelievable, like is this happening. I strongly agree. It is a heart problem and only understanding and accepting God's Unconditional saving Grace through JESUS Christ's Burial, Death and Redemption can truly save anyone from sexual sin or any sin or lifestyle issue. I have not arrived but I now see the Hope and possibility of the new life as I grow each day and this message is just another boost and reminder for me and I still learnt new things. I Thank God Almighty for Grace 🙏🏾 Thank you Jesus Christ

I heard a pastor once say sin takes you further than you wanted to go and keeps you longer than you wanted to stay. I believe this is especially true for porn. Sexual sin against yourself strips you of dignity and respect and leaves you each time dirty and empty.

I wish I learned this information at age 6 when I first saw a Playboy magazine. I have a heart issue. They are right the porn filters don't work. Walking with Christ and other believers will get you to live holy. This is a good discussion. God is good. Thank you Lord for forgiving me ❤️

I hv all kinds of addictions...I wish ppl don't feel sorry for sinners but help them come out of it....that's why ppl never confess sins ....so much shame and judgement comes from it ...lord always heals us

I believe porn rips a piece of your soul that you never get back but thank God He will forgive those who repent.

Thank you for not treating porn as a man's only issue. I first viewed pornography as a 7 year old little girl (it wasn't a magazine either, but full blown video). When there are zero resources out there to help women overcome sex addictions, it's extremely frustrating.

Another resource that's been helpful and around since the 80s is Pure Life Ministries with Steve Gallagher and his team. Thanks for bringing up this subject. Lord, help all of us men to take the effects of porn in our lives and minds seriously. Grant us the grace and power to overcome this grave addiction.

I heard from a muslim scholar that Porn addiction is more dangerous than drug addiction. because a person who want drugs, need to have money, contacts with paddler and so more, but if a person wants to watch porn, he just need internet.

I would say this also applies to homosexual life style in the same way.

Answering the why of addiction with biology is a poor answer. You must realize that our flesh desires idols. This is evident in our corrupted bodies making these chemical connections and patterns. But to look at this as just a chemical pattern is wrong. This is a matter of the heart. Pornography is no more addictive than any other media. They are all equally capable of being an idol; an item we desire, seek after, and delight in more than God. We must see that porn is more evil than others because the idol is one that stems from something that is inherently evil, but this should dissuade us of the fact that we seek all sorts of idols and find them because of depravity, not some "chemical reaction in the brain that happens just because that's the way we're made." Sometimes idols are blatantly obvious, such as porn, false gods, drugs, etc. but sometimes they're not so obvious such as large franchises, foods, relationships with others etc. Always be on the lookout for idols creeping into your life. Pray that God will make them obvious to you and you that will be able through His power to flee to the fortress that is Christ and stand against such temptations and think always of whatever is good, just, and true.
