Damn Bill, these series & the thoughtful commentary as well as the unique subjects get better & better. This should be a show on HBO Max where you do a few of these per episode for 12 episode season. Fascinating stuff.

Great video essay, Bill; I do remember when that movie came out, and then just went. Nobody told Richard Pryor's life story better than him during his stage act, and nobody will ever improve on that.

I understand his ambition at wanting to put a stamp on his feature career, though.
