There many books written by Local Historians even 4th std. history of MH govt. is enough to know all this or biographies written by Bendre and Purandare and it was common to have more than one wife. Shivaji Maharaji himself had 8 wives.

When Maharaj knew that his army is fighting against a woman he stopped. he met Rani Mallama and She respectfully greeted Maharaj. Why so hatered man. We live in same country. Shringeri incident happend 110 years after Shivaji maharaj death. 1791. Maharaj passed away in 1680. And it wasnt his core army. its the ppl marahta used to keep on contract so maratha really didnt have any control over these armies.

To understand why the Pindaris would loot the temple town, we must first understand who the Pindaris were and what their role and designation in the Maratha Forces was
