I don't think you're fully right here, managers like klopp and especially Ange recently have been criticised for the amount of goals theyre conceding and their weaknesses in defense. The other reason creative attacking managers are seen as more favourable currently is because even midtable teams nowadays are structured well, have physically adept players, and keep a compact shape. It's going to be difficult to break them down unless you have a creative attacking manager. A balanced manager is ideal, so I'm not sure where you've got the idea that balanced managers are being negatively looked upon. The reason tuchel is being looked down upon is because he didn't even get close to winning the bundesliga despite having by far the most talented and expensive squad in Germany. Even still, he gets a lot of praise for his management of knockout tournaments (beat arsenal and was 5 minutes away from beating real Madrid). I've also seen some sensible united fans saying that tuchel would be a good manager to bring in for ten hag.

Not throwing your players under the bus and complaining about the people who employ you all the time is what most clubs are looking for. Unless that attitude is complemented by a stream of trophies then clubs are not going to put up with the likes of Conte, Mourinho and Tuchel anymore.

If you look at the tactical differences between Ten Hags first and second season at United, you can also see what I suspect is this same pressure to play creative and attacking football. United were more balanced in phases of play last season whilst still having a lot of success with transitions. This season Ten Hag has set them up for the vast majority of the games to have both a high 6 man press and a low block at the same time, trying to force more transitions. Consequently United was 1st in the league for high turnovers and possession won in the final third, but also second to Sheffield United for shots conceded as when teams beat the high press it’s a pretty easy break towards the United defence. This transitional style was also criticised by some at Ajax for the same flaws in the midfield but it’s how he likes to set up. It’s not a coincidence that United set up differently in the FA cup final overloading the midfield and had success, however it begs the question what’s more important, results or style? United haven’t had any success this season with this transitional philosophy outside of moments and I think this stubbornness/one dimensionalism is what will get ETH replaced in a few days. You have to play to your teams strength, which he hasn’t especially considering the injuries.

De Zerbi revolutionized the game. EtH didn't revolutionize anything. He was promising at best.

Was thinking the same thing. Interesting how people are willing to give the benefit of the doubt to De Zerbi missing certain players this season, but not EtH.

He decided to go against the grain, he already had possession style players-players who could keep the ball, but he also implemented an efficient, direct, style of play to have Ajax scoring an abnormal amount of goals while holding possession.

Ten Hag is much much better than De Zerbi.The problem is United being completely mismanaged to the point that their stadium is physically falling apart.

I don't think anyone is overlooking him. I think the problem is it's only huge clubs searching for managers and the on field management is only one aspect of being a manager. Managing at a super club involves so much that bologna doesn't.

Michel at Girona is another manager massively overachieving. Took them from the lower division in Spain to competing for the league a bit and then got them a champions league place.

Overachieving with a small team is not the same as managing a well established teams, there are lots of things to consider. Man Management, bigger staffs, team structure and the likes

@@user-zc2sz1os3j Having 9 players of his and keep having those 9 players for a string of games is VERY DIFFERENT. It's not that hard to get all your players behind the ball and just hope to get chances on the counter, but fans wouldn't be okay with that as well. If you do hear his interview with Neville, he tried to explain that it wouldn't be wise to completely change your tactics acc to injured players because once they come back, it is difficult to get back to what you were doing earlier. Palace defeat was clearly on ETH being less pragmatic BUT ALSO on the players who absolutely gave up. My opinion is not that ETH is the perfect manager and he is of least fault, it's only that blaming everything on him isn't right. Sacking him is not the solution, unless fans want the short term success of UCL football for next season and then go downhill again in 25/26. Just read the main comment thoroughly again. You might have a different opinion but there are some common sense and facts.

You might be onto something with the ‘owners becoming more logical bit’…but it’s still kinda 50-50 for me. I look at it this way - if you’re going to bring in a ten Hag based on his Ajax CV and way of playing there, and then not give him everything he needs to implement that style, then what was the point of hiring him in the first place?

I don't think it is a question of bridges, but a question of style. Mourinho was greatly loved at Roma but his style is outdated and he failed to evolve.

If EtH had shown he had the ability to see the obvious shortcomings of this season's approach and try to alter it, instead of embarrass himself by sticking with something that does not work and just talk about how he almost smash and grabbed Arsenal earlier in the season I'd be more sympathetic to this approach. As it stands he's done more than enough to justify being sacked weeks ago.

He's basically taken Potter's side who were in good form. Played basically the same type of football while they were in good form. Sold the best two players in that team and they're not in as good form.

Spot on, De Zerbi is a pretty good manager but in way shape or form has he shown that he can cut it at the top level of football.

How is it the same thing? United this season don't play like United did last season and there's no indication EtH is going to revert. EtH is also awful at impacting a match and De Zerbi isn't.

@@jhf2121 United had one of the most impactful substitutions in the league last season. Why does United play differently than last year? In the starting 11 there are 2-3 players left that can make a longer pass and one of them is Onana. Last year we had Shaw, Martinez, Eriksen, Bruno and Casemiro making great long passes in behind. This year there is only Bruno left out of them. Shaw and Martinez are injured the whole season, Eriksen can't run after the Andy Carroll tackle with Mainoo playing ahead of him anyway and Casemiro decides not to be able to play football anymore. We have played a hyper-aggressive pressing game this season with a deep defensive line that leaves a vast space in midfield. If certain players are required to make that work and they aren't there we shouldn't be playing that way. Our impactful subs last season consisted of bringing on Garnacho to score late, it was not a tactical change. Injuries or no, the performance of the club has been sackably bad and he's very fortunate to still be in the job.

@@jhf2121 They play differently. I even explained why they play differently... This is a lose lose situation for ten Hag. Either he tries to play as close to the style that he wants with better prospects for the future (as he does now) and doesn't get the results we want or he just gives up and parks the bus. This won't even necessarily improve United as the players don't seem to run and press very much but it would certainly spark new debate about how it's a disgrace that United parks the bus against "leser" teams. So. Playing towards the strengths of players left - "absolute disgrace, parking the bus against Palace, that's not why he was brought in to do, sack ten Hag". Playing the style that he was brought in to play ish - "results are not good enough, should be more pragmatic and get some results by whatever means necessary, sack ten Hag".

@@ElEmElEkv13 why is the alternative to what we play now parking the bus? Why go from one extreme to the other? We are 15th in xPts because EtH cannot get his approach to work and cannot balance his team. He has had the midfield required to protect his backline and has not done so. He sets the players that are available up to fail. We were had off by Coventry if you remember. Crystal Palace just destroyed us. All after spending £400m. At this point he is an embarrassment to the club and so are the fans who defend him.

Which is why he needs a bigger club

Arteta would have been sacked at Man Utd after finishing 8th twice and 5th. EtH had the best football at Ajax compared to all the names you mentioned and we believe he is still the right man to turn things around with fully fit squad and support from the new management.

Imagine letting Sancho go on loan and only a few months later, he’s in a champions league final and you’re not even certain he’ll get into Europe with the current run of games

Tuchel is a proven manager and has PL experience. Slot did a good job in Holland, but Ten Hag also did. He is still not tested in top clubs.

@luizhumbertocampos1103 Conte and Mourinho were also proven managers when they were appointed at Spurs. And it didn't end well because they were never a good fit with Spurs ownership. Whether we like it or not, that's a thing. If you can't gel with the owners, then you will not succeed

@@JR-sj1jz Tottenham hired a "modern progressive manager", Ange Postecoglou, and results have been very similar to Mourinho's and Conte's spell (with the difference that Conte achieved top 4 in his first season before a drop in performance in the second season). This with Spurs spending heavily in this season. I really wonder why people criticize Mourinho and Conte so heavily, but not Ange. Regarding Tuchel, I do not see why he would not be a good fit for Liverpool. It is much more probable that Slot does not suceed in a bigger club with more pressure playing a league that is much harder than Eredivisie.

@luizhumbertocampos1103 who said anything about results? I will repeat what I said, the former managers were never a good fit with the ownership. It didn't need a rocket scientist to tell you that a manager like Conte who regularly complains about spending wasn't going to do well with a chairman like Levy who is notorious for being tight with the finances. Similar issue with Tuchel. He is keen to very publicly speak his opinion about ownership and lack of spending. That will not work with FSG so it would be a bad fit. Doesn't matter how superior you are as a tactician, there's more to football management that just simply what you do on the pitch. Look at Klopp, Pep, Ancelloti, Inzaghi. How often do you see interviews from them publicly complaining about spending. Now contrast that to Tuchel and Conte. There's a reason why those two change jobs every couple of years. In fact I'd even go as far and say Liverpool would have hired Tomas Frank over Tuchel and Conte.

@@JR-sj1jz Most of your examples do not make sense. It would simply be ridiculous for Guardiola, that managed only great teams like Barcelona, Bayern and City to complain about spending. Of course he is a great manager, but always managed squads with world class players. Regarding Ancelotti, he always already had a good squad or at least the club was spending heavily (Everton was not a great squad, but they spent heavily under his tenure, to give you an example). Klopp was always backed by the board. Liverpool this season had 111 million net spent to improve an already good team. Of course he managed smaller clubs in Germany, but in these cases he knew he couldn't complain. Even Mourinho did not complain about spending when he managed União Leiria and Porto. The same for Conte, that did not complain when he was managing smaller Italian sides with modest expectations. The question is that renowed managers will expect to have a good squad or, if the team is not good, that the board will invest heavily to improve it. The only example you give that fits your point is Simone Inzaghi. However, we must consider that he arrived to Inter fully aware of the club's financial problems. He also was not a big name at the time, despite a good job at Lazio. On Liverpool, it is good to remember that Tuchel did not have problems with Abramovich, a notorious hard man to work with. Problems arised with the board only with the change of ownership. At Bayern of course he failed. However, it is important to consider that the squad was aging and in need of a rebuild. This not to mention that the Bayern board is not easy to get with. I think he would do well at Liverpool, specially if they keep spending in the same level as the last seasons of Klopp's era. It is important to contextualize things and not just say "manager X is problematic, complains a lot and would not get along with the board". Arne Slot can be sucessful, but this is much more uncertain than if the manager was Tuchel. We saw what happened to coachs like Frank de Boer, Laudrup, Ten Hag and Ronald Koeman.
