Why is the Scarab mission so FRUSTRATING in Halo Wars?! 

I hated it as a kid, then you learn about warthog spam and just drive them backwards, the scarab gets stuck shooting in one place the entire time. Now arcadia? That mission is teeth grinding.

I loved that mission! and looking back, I wonder why there was never a similar mission in the sequel

Once I learned about how the scarab can't damage the marines in the garrisons, this mission became much more bearable for Legendary.

Did my first HW1 playthrough last week and I need a t-shirt with the fully upgraded warthog icon on it

I remember hearing that if you put Marines in one of those bunkers the will forever fire at it is that true

It’s hard at first but playing it on like heroic and normal to understand it better makes the legendary run really easy. Upgrade just tanks, use the field armory to upgrade turrets and get railguns for defense on the counter attack. Slowly destroy each power node one by one. They’re very close by and you can methodically destroy them with ease with a few tanks. Once they’re all gone or at least 5 or 6 Of them, just use a warthog to pull the scarab searchlight to the left (or right) the whole time while your tanks just sit on the opposite side and wreck the scarab. A misunderstood mission. Daunting at first, trivial once you’ve sat with it for a few playthroughs

I don’t know why I’m getting a short for Halo Wars (1?) But I frickin love Halo Wars as a kid. Probably the only RTS I’ve ever really played. (Unless you want to count EVE, Kenshi, and those weird, but welcome, sections of Brutal Legend)

THAT flood mission is the worst

I remember one time i just spammed macs and it worked

The tactic for this mission is gauss hogs and wolverines. 1) Set up the plasme rhino behind the base. 2) Upgrade reactors to get vehicle depot. 3 at first. Dont need 4 until much later. 3) warthog rushing is an option here, much more viable/cost effective on higher difficulties. 4) wolverines volley does alot of damage to the scarab. 5) use initial units to try destroy the first 2 nodes. Then just replenish the population and run the gauntlet. If trying for the achievement killing the scarab without hitting the nodes. Warthog rush is much more cost effective as lots of units will die.

😂 man i remember being ranked top 25 in 1v1 2v2 and 16th in hW was one of the OG warthog rushers sheesh miss this game HW2 was trash

I have the worst luck with this mission. just back to back to back nailing the ruins Infront of the base, unless I'm rushing and risking my troops early I lose fairly quickly almost everytime

Scarab buff is crazy

I just spammed scorpions and got coser to him. The scarab was so confused that he stopped shooting

In the short story from the halo channel they mention the super scarab

IMO most annoying mission was the elephant / reactor one

4:08 flame regularman

I used scorpions and used a few to kite the beam was fairly easy. Gotta watch ur base tho it gets swarmed

Definitely is a timer, cant remember what it was, but there is a timer on when it destroys your base

Easiet way to beat this mission is by doing the marine glitch
