My grandmother was Jewish, but I was raised Christian (non-denominational). I just found this channel but I can't stop watching these videos. I am not Jewish but they comfort me and make me laugh.
I am so so very grateful to have found you and your teaching style. I’m an older American and everything you say makes so much sense to me and fills my heart and soul to know that G-d needs me and excited to learn how to fulfill his needs in return. I have recently joined the VIP series and I am very excited to begin to make a real connection… Bit by bit for sure… But… Bit by bit :-)
My kids are observant Jews ,and my cousin is always bugging me about why I brought them up like that ,I tell her that our grandparents were Jews as Jews should be observant traditional Jews, and by making my kids same I just corrected my line of bloodline ,for in USSR we lost our observance but not our Jewishness, that you cant loose as rabbi Freedman says ,great man he is for all humanity to listen and ponder on life and relations between man. Simply Genius!!!!!
Rabbi thank you ever so much. This lecture/talk answered so many questions I had about Chabad pov. You took me my collar shook me awake. This was an experience I'll always treasure. Thank you again.
Oral Torah is a Lie - if there were any truth to Oral Law, Joshua would not have written: *JOSHUA 23:6* Obedience to God requires obeying what is written in his word, and worshiping him alone. Joshua commanded that the Israelites continue obeying all that was *WRITTEN* in the Book of the Law of Moses. *NO MENTION OF ORAL LAW! ORAL LAW IS A LIE AND A CULT AND NOT BIBLICAL - STOP TEACHING IT OR ELSE GOD WILL JUDGE YOU* ! *PROVERBS 30:5-6* 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. 6 *Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar* Zechariah made it clear that it is *GODS BLOOD COVENANT* that will save us! *ZECHARIAH 9:9-11* Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: *he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass* . 10 And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth. 11 As for thee also, *by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water*
I agree with you, wholeheartedly, about Israel, when it comes to how "Jewish" a person is. I have a friend who met a lovely man, there, but when the family found she wasn't the "right brand of Jew," he broke off the relationship, which had been going well, up to that point. One of the women in the family told her if she tried to be in another relationship, she would tell what kind of Jew she was. This poor woman was devastated, of course. She left Israel and came back to Canada. There is such a divide among Jews, who are so very few, to begin with...we can't afford to be against each other. I am a convert, who went through a Conservative Rabbi to do it. That was 39 years ago, when I wanted to convert, so I went to the nearest synagogue, which just happened to be "Conservative." Never did I think I would be any less Jewish than other converts who went through the "Orthodox" method.I figured any Shul..any Rabbi...would be Kosher. It's exasperating. I just had to get my conversion papers checked by three top Rabbis in the city I live in. They, thankfully, rubber stamped my papers, except for one area...they said there may be some problems in Israel....just wonderful... Israel cannot afford to be turning away ANY Jew, no matter what. This whole thing about religious delineation is absurd. A Jew is a Jew is a Jew... and I was born with a Jewish soul...just had to work a little harder to get to where I need and want to be. I enjoy your teaching and thank you and the young lady who so wisely asked the question that resulted in this excellent teaching.
Tom Corcoran that’s a ridiculous statement. So anytime a Christian converts to a sect they should know all the differences between churches and theology, understand armenianism vs Calvinism? Understand the theological split brought about by the reformation? Understand that Christian denominations consider some valid and others not valid? No one converts to any faith knowing ALL the information. Nobody starts a job or picks up a hobby or anything in life really with all the information. So stop shitting on something someone else holds dear and understand everyone is on their own journeys at different stages of realization along the path. Don’t be a dick.
I love how the people who say things like “they will never accept you” or anything along those lines always tends to be non Jews with no actual understanding. Why must people talk without firsthand experience?
So years ago when I came to Judaism I was not a fan of Chabad but now I love Chabad and love spending Shabbos at a local shul and learning with the Rabbi at daily Torah parsha classes.
Batch Hashem, I’m in seminary and watching his videos and videos of many other Rabbis prepares me for class. It also gives me extra time for learning and absorbing Torah.
I totally agree, and I live in Israel. It breaks my heart to see groups separate from each other. There's a lovely Yiddish saying, "We're all tied with the same string." The tefillin story reminds me of a conversation I had with a taxi driver. I'm an obviously frum woman. He says to me, "I drive on Shabbos, but I won't take money - but I'm not religious!" and I told him "Yes, you ARE religious!" He pointed to his pack of cigarettes and said "I won't smoke on Shabbos" and I said "You really ARE religious! Now go out and buy yourself a kippah." He says "But I'm not religious!" and I said "Just go get the kippah already." Every Jew has a spark in them, just waiting for the right time to flare up and warm the soul.
You are so right Rabbi Friedman. I was raised Catholic, then changed to Protestan church, pray to Hashem, blessed is He, with Psalm 119, He, blessed is He, revealed to me that I was from the tribe of Israel. He showed me in a dream, 45 years ago, his precious four letter Name, when I didn't even knew who the Jewish people were or for that matter the Hebrew letters, much less His holy Name in Hebrew. I saw his Name in a revelation in HEBREW on top of the Holy Sanctuary in the desert. I was 34 years old then. I started to investigate, and by doing research found out about my ancestry. They were Sephardic Jews from Spain. Forty years has passed in my life, and again I prayed and asked Hashem, blessed is He, what tribe I was from. He told me very clearly that I was descendant of Palu. I researched again and found out that Palu was the second son of Ruben, the first born of Israel. I don't know if anyone would believe me. But I know what He, in his infinite mercy, has shown me that I am a Jewess. Ever since then I changed my name and have been learning Hebrew, on my own, and when I read in Hebrew, I realized by listening to those people who know Hebrew well, I was reading the Hebrew, and pronouncing it the same way. Who taught me this? My beloved Hashem, blessed is He. And I feel close to my family and started seeking for them. But I felt rejected. I don't care if my family rejects me, I serve the God of Israel and that's that.
Thank you for addressing the issue "Does G-d feel pain?" I had a what if... moment while listening to one of your messages. It broke my heart to think that every hurt I had ever felt, every wrong path, every debasing moment, that was G-d in me feeling the horror. I had just let it all happen because I thought G-d was somewhere else.
Every living soul is a little piece of HaShem; how can it be otherwise. For what are the Jewish people chosen? To learn Torah and keep its commandments. Which the people agreed to do on Mt. Sinai, even prior to knowing Torah contents: “Na'aseh venishma” - “We will do and we will hear.” [Exodus 24:7] For what purpose the commandments? There are books of discussion on Torah commandments and their why. The commandments are a way of life. And Torah commandments could be one of HaShem's experiments to accelerate the evolution of human consciousness and mastery of life in a group of people.
I always thought they were priests trying to form a proto-government and exercise control over people, by it was actually an invisible magic man all along, I stand corrected.
I have been enjoying listening to this. I'm a good part through and I suddenly heard the speaker ask "Does God cry?" (1:07:05 and a bit afterwards to get to the question) And then I thought of these verses from a book that we (Mormons) call the Pearl of Great Price: Moses chapter 7 28 And it came to pass that the God of heaven looked upon the residue of the people, and he wept; and Enoch bore record of it, saying: How is it that the heavens weep, and shed forth their tears as the rain upon the mountains? 29 And Enoch said unto the Lord: How is it that thou canst weep, seeing thou art holy, and from all eternity to all eternity? 30 And were it possible that man could number the particles of the earth, yea, millions of earths like this, it would not be a beginning to the number of thy creations; and thy curtains are stretched out still; and yet thou art there, and thy bosom is there; and also thou art just; thou art merciful and kind forever; 31 And thou hast taken Zion to thine own bosom, from all thy creations, from all eternity to all eternity; and naught but peace, justice, and truth is the habitation of thy throne; and mercy shall go before thy face and have no end; how is it thou canst weep? 32 The Lord said unto Enoch: Behold these thy brethren; they are the workmanship of mine own hands, and I gave unto them their knowledge, in the day I created them; and in the Garden of Eden, gave I unto man his agency; 33 And unto thy brethren have I said, and also given commandment, that they should love one another, and that they should choose me, their Father; but behold, they are without affection, and they hate their own blood; 34 And the fire of mine indignation is kindled against them; and in my hot displeasure will I send in the floods upon them, for my fierce anger is kindled against them.
We are not religious. Forget religion. WE ARE JEWS. So its not about religion its about winning and winning big in all areas of life. So listen to this Holy Rabbi and master his philosophy on how we must proceed.
I love this guy's attitude. It's true about religion causing damage when faith isn't about rituals etc it's a lifestyle.. it's everyday choices. How do you honour God? By spending time to know him more and with that understanding making the neccesary changes that are applicable to my life for my reasons because it's right between God and myself.
I love Denver! I want to live there! And yes, R' Friedman is an example of a beautiful Human Being as Hashem intended. This is what happens if you spend your entire life studying Hashem's Torah, thinking about it, applying it and teaching it. Such an inspiration.
They’re split because one teaches that you can still be a Jew without following gods laws and the other side believes you are only as Jewish as your devotion to God and his laws
I would have signed up for his philosophy class in college if he was a professor there. This is not about religion, it's life. And a danm good view on it.
Yes Joyce, Rabbi really sorted the bit about Religion and just Jewish. Having a gold chalices or a wooden one.. The Torah was given to the Jewish people ,,,,lets bend our knees together and be Jewish together and thank our Mothers who helped so much with this privilege.
I must say that the Rabbi's answer to that first question is very well put. I'm an Orthodox, although of _Christian_ variety, and I find a lot in common here. As our Church Fathers have written, the true nature of humankind is to not commit sin, and the reason why men do commit sin is because that true nature became corrupted by the free choice (i.e. when Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge). But in their hearts, men yearn to be closer to God. Inside every man there's a glimpse of something god-like, something uncorrupted and something holy that wants to be set free. What God wants is not "religious" people but people who want to follow their original, healthy nature. We say that sin is like a disease, and like with other diseases there is always a cure - God. And like the Rabbi said, the message of God - the medicine - is not for the religious, those already cured, but for the sick and the sinners. Before the Eucharist, we even have a prayer that in English goes something like this: "May the partaking of your Holy mysteries [The Eucharist], O Lord, Be not for my judgment or condemnation, But for the healing of my soul and body. Amen."
Love listening to Rabbi Manis but unfortunately he is wrong about this one. Biggest problem is that Chabad / Lubavitch almost completely disregard all other secs of frum jewry. If you ask the average Lubavitch kid about the basics of other frum secs they will likely know very little to nothing about it, because it is practically irrelevant. Just to make clear I LOVE a lot things about chabad, but this is unfortunately the reason there is such a divide.
@@chanaselwyn9265 I dont understand what colleage 'pcomputers' tells us about "Satanic spephers" either :) I just dont think that we should seek yet another kind of diversity to divide us for "better" and "lesser" souls :) Its stupid, but of course its good for political propaganda or religious propaganda I m sure :) I m sometimes very tired of all this BS and want to say - hey people are you not tired of constant seek of whatever nuance you can find in other group (nation, religion, tribe) to be able to think about yourself as better and of those group as lesser? Are you not tired of this? This is so unproductive and uncreative and dividing, its waste of time!
Can you make a video directed to men about marriage? what to look for what to expect if there are certain things that arent important. the works! please :)
If we do what HaShem tells us, what does it matter what's going on in our heads? I can't always control what goes on in my head. I can only control what goes on with my hands and feet.
Brian McComas as much as we been socially weaponized against arranged marriage, I totally agree with you my brother because we have not been told that parents start looking for a girl that will not only match the expression of the soul but beauty is just as previous plus these are kids who never touched the opposite and the weeding only takes place after 1 year of divine courtship which comes with education about the emotional structure of a partner and lessons on how to ignite each other in to flattering candles as light to shine forth 2 paths in to one. This is where the ideology of a soul mate comes from and in order for these kids to only focus on soul unity the parents make sure they don’t touch or have anything to do with money because they feel it corrupts the path of unity and the couple has 1 year to decide while assisted with kindness by the whole community and told there will be no judgment if they feel they are not soul mates because both girl and boy have others wanting to be with them and the key to it all is the community of other future couples watching this courtship which shows the truth of each soul and very visible destiny so even if it doesn’t work out it still works out since this is a divine cycle set in time until it fixates on its soul mate and the rest is holy history. Brian they are still doing this in communities where everyone is educated and under law which is when the EGO lets go and one slides in to the fusion of gods instructed ways as all this divine sacred truth is written in and out meaning out in scripture and inside DNA of all humanity but a Jew is born in to this so these parts of DNA expression get activated naturally and with a convert it’s same as long as the heart is pure and it can feel gods word knowing it vs be living it and taking one from be living to knowing is the master goal of our people. A Jew is one who cared to activate what they call Junk DNA, the rest is basic logistics and the crazy part is we need ANTI SEMITISM to give us battle ground so out TSIDIKS the Lions have a reason to come and Roar singular truth from which no variations may be made otherwise we would probably have 1000 types of religions to match each 1 of 4000 catholic denominations based on hate and division without realization that Jews are not religious, it’s a way of life from which religion was created so basically our goal is unity and to gain this we are chosen as pre ordained priests of this world as we are a living sacrifice to HaShem as we know he needs us as much as we need him. There is no Devil , no hell none of these sick human constructions. HASatan is like the minus of a magnet and god is the plus and we are inside the vortex that’s in the middle with free choice which is how humanity develops and gets to activate its dormant DNA otherwise we would be stuck in comfort zones and never move sort of like SPIDERS sitting in the middle of our material web.. it is horrifying to know how these truths have been corrupted to create control in name of fear but in no way is this in name of any living god. If we could just have more people dig for original scripture 90% of fear in this world would be gone and once that’s done we are moments away from EDEN on earth and beyond. SHALOM TO YOU AND ALL YOU FEEL.. BARUCH HASHEM MY HOLY BROTHER. YOUR COMMENT GAVE ME JOY So I HOPE I WAS ABLE TO AT LEAST MATCH THAT DIVINE FREQUENCY OF THOUGT FORMS IN YOUR HOLY OF HOLLIES. 👏👏👏🔥
Yossi Siegel Then explain why in seven different places in Shulchan Aruch it says you can't count him for a minyan, no Aliyah, etc. In Rambam it says a Shabbos desecrator is like part of an idolatrous nation.
Religion has become a wall between G-D. And us , sad but true. And it is what's making it very hard for me. I love him but i'm having trouble making the connection between the actual mizvahs and just talking to god and just walking with him as i used to before because i was formerly raised as a seventh day adventist even though i am a jew.
But in Rambam Hilchot Shabbat Chapter 30, The last Halacha it says that a Jew that does not observe Shabbat, his judiasm is on suspension. You can't count him for a minyan, you can't give him an Aliyah, etc.
Could you define the difference between work and volnteer work? What about investments. Should they not give give a return for those 52 days? Or how about retirement. Should you get less money because of the 52 non-working days? And how paid time off? If that falls on shabat, should you tell your job you can't accept it? Btw I've read Rambam in both Spanish and English. He lived at a different time when Muslims and Jews had a better working relationship.
I love him with his joke in the Torah I read that ten gentle will put there ✋ in the shoulder of a rabbi ( ten means something in Hebrew ) I know is the teaching of a rabbi!
19.44 I have two small questions? 1 : How can perfect God make the world which is not perfect. I think Perfect God did created a perfect world for us, but we in our greed and sin choose to make it not perfect till today. 2 : How can a Holy God create a world which is not holy. Then expects us who are not holy to make the world holy. Do you mean that God himself is not holy enough to create the world which is holy that he needs our help who are not holy to make the world Holy. Are we more holy then God to make the world holy. I think God is Holy, and we were also holy. But we sinned (Adam and Eve) and choose to make the perfect world into the world which was not perfect in our greed till today. That is why Holy God gave us Torah (Laws) to help us become perfect and holy again like we were before we sinned. Shalom
Omg. This is so amazing. It’s like saying is it not enough to be human? People want to say Black, White, blah blah blah. What ever. We are humans. What you do or what your color is makes no matter. You are a human. A human. Not a this, or a that or an other. We are one and the same. Oh I am so Jewish. Big smiles.
You don't have to look at the videos that were so graciously shared by the girls' school. Asking young ladies not to giggle away their nervousness is not really doable. As an old woman, I find it charming and am grateful that the young ladies agreed to share their class with us.
You live a certain life style because of the need to belong , to be deeply loved , to be accepted, to be safe cause you weren't born that way, but not your fault, why these other needs , he loves you & wants you to love him back , he loves deeply, a wow & awe love ,cute puppy dog awe 🐾 he might have trust issues, maybe still , 💖💔💝 I was kind of married for 34 yrs , then he died , we had two kids ,
She wants you to love her enough to be kind & talk nice & not yell at her , take her to have fun sometimes, defend her , dont be mean & say if you dont like it leave , then she will feel loved & dont try to pollute her thoughts it will make her mad & she won't trust you anymore, she will love you but trust is needed .
But G-d said the nations will say "G-d is with you" not from beings a Jew but something they reflect will cause this.. His Torah and these are His commandments and righteous. correct me please if I'm wrong. Thanks
Who says there is a split? Some Jews in the litvish (my community) don't learn Chassidus or Kabbalah. That's their loss and to their detriment. I don't ever defend people in my community. So there's no split. Just people in my camp who are ignorant- even Rabbis. In these crazy distracting times unless you have something real good- ie. miracle stories, real deep kindness for someone, and a deep knowledge of G-d- forget about capturing the youth with ethics and mussar. So I understand the Rebbe's point the more I live- and I agree. But it definitely doesn't discount having good middos- where I think my community excels. So the scale is balanced. Chabad can learn a lot from us as well. One without proper middos can't hope to influence anyone. Both camps have to start learning from and appreciate the other- fast.
I have a Jewish secular friend who is an avid atheist. Every time we met he spoke hours about why God did not exist. I don't know any non - Jewish atheist who would be so passionate about G-d. Me as a believer could not believe how much he knew on the evidence. We only couldn't figure out who caused the "Big Bang."
how do you know who is in fact Jewish without having a religious structure. The structure comes first, then you can start adding adornments. (Im litvish :-)
I keep as kosher as I can because HaShem said to and in doing so I am more mindful of G_D… I am living in my mother’s house and I believe she gets to decide how she should live. And I am not worried to bring discord over diet. I don’t eat meat and cheese and she does… it’s ok right now. Lord willing I will have my own home and be able to put things like menorah and different dishes and things to wash my hands “better” . I don’t have the cups or the candle sticks. I don’t know that I should acquire them on my own anyway. But I can study Torah with other Jewish people and I can attend Shul online. There isn’t any that I would be able to get back from… I can get there not back and I am prying about how best to serve HIM
The law is that no matter what other 'ideology' you identify with, you are still Jewish if your mother is Jewish. And absolutely nothing can change that. Your soul is eternally Jewish. And will always be forever.
