Now this, is content. Excellently executed. The end look is so seemless that it could most certainly pass as an actual manufacturer made product. Great choice of light-transmitting polymer combined with impressive RGB LEDs, which in conjunction with the black nature of the fan blades creates a feast for the eyes.

They both look awesome, but the black looks a little better in my opinion. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Noctua to add RGB to their fans considering how long it took them just to make the NF-A12x25 in black. Keep up the good work and let me know if you guys start selling those. It would be nice to have an RGB fan option with Noctua quality.

Did you measure sound output at mix & max before & after? I would be interested to know if the mod caused a difference in noise, seeing as many of us like Noctua for their low noise at high rpm output.
@CrazyAlbatross46
@CrazyAlbatross46 2 года назад
I dont think the sound has changed, maybe the cooling preformance because os the poort quality of a 3d print instead of the regular noctua plastic, but i think noctua can do it and it can be at the same level of the non rgb ones more expensive but at the same level (i think the price is the problem, maybe they think that noone want to spent 40 bucks on a fan)

great Mod. Love the black more than the brown. Currently using the thermaltake toughfan 12's with some cheap Airgoo halos that give a similar effect. but I'm thinking its time to find a guy with a printer to try this mod to save me some mm in clearance. Well done guys.

Noctua took a long time to make these fans in black. They have just announced the white ones. We all know lighting is also coming but not before they have made a lot of money with the current and upcoming ones. If you have an iPhone, you should know.

Time to figure out a production rig to allow doing this quickly! As to the folks saying "bleh, RGB" I say - BLING makes it better!" If you can't keep your engineered fan goodness while adding LEDs, does that mean you've reached the end of your engineering competence!? I'd be curious if Noctua has ever done a true marketing analysis of going after the RGB enhanced marketplace -- seems like money being left on the table. Great job @2GeysTek.

Another solution would be to take a phanteks halos led strip and use that instead of the strip used in the video. That way your have control via hub or motherboard

Why should Noctua focus on RGB when performance is way more important then some simple colors spinning around in the fan.

@@2GuysTek thanks. So you just need to cut until it's serrated right
@2GuysTek
@2GuysTek 2 года назад
You’ll need to cut just enough to separate the parts. Be very careful not to cut in too far to prevent damage to the blades of the fan.
@Christiantheone
@Christiantheone 2 года назад
@@2GuysTek got it. The router table seems like you'd have more precise control. 2 whips on a bit that is at the cut point fir each side seems it would seperate nicely. The jeweler I could see working too with a gaurd as to not go to far. Thanks guys awesome work

dude it's so sick. shame I may never have anything like this, because quality RGB fans are so damn expensive and I don't have a 3D printer... I wouldn't mind hacking up some fans to mod them like this if I could buy those insertion plates though. But again, I'd have to find the right fans for the job. Cheap, quality, and good-looking when lit.
@savydaniel
@savydaniel Год назад
Why is Noctua not making this? Because their fans are the best in terms of performance, materials and engineering. LGBT lights add nothing to performance, but would mean a compromise in materials. I'm glad they made the NF-A12x25 Chromax Black with the short header, because the aim for those is AIO radiators.
