I think Rabbi Daniel Rowe has just made me realize that I am a Jew, and I never knew. I have made many mistakes in life, and the reason behind many of them is because I allowed myself to be compromised for the sake of the people around me, and when I have stood up for myself, I am suddenly the bad apple. When I have tried to do the right thing, I have been ridiculed and alienated from my peers. This past 5yrs I have been living alone, and doing my own thing instead of following the crowd, and I have found my life to be far more fullfilling now, than I ever have. I walked away from my friends, my family, and most of the people I knew, and the toxicity has now completely faded from my life. I am still struggling, but not even half as bad as I used to do. What this guy is saying, has resonated with me on levels I never knew existed. As a non jewish I have a theory. The hate towards the jewish people comes from a place of envy and jealousy. Jewish people can balance keeping their culture of self-reliance, community cooperation, dedication to studies, businesses and family, frugal and financially responsible, stay away from decadent destructive behaviours, while being able to integrate perfectly with the societies they're living in without clashing with the rest of society. Ive been trying for some time (long before October 7) to both do mote research and to explain to people a little bit the ingrained suspicion and hatred that our society in the west has for the Jewish people. Even with people who have no real animosity towards Jews there is this "they must have done something" kind of mentality. This video is very helpful and concise with info on combating that. Hatred always stems from the deep psychological root of envy. When envy becomes an obsession, you truly hate the person who is successful, richer, more popular, more good looking, more intelligent. And you justify your anger and hate by feeling that your own personal failures are somebody else’s fault. So you fault the easy target.
I believe that we are all capable, actually very capable of being hateful. The is an expression in my culture which actually goes: Envy is the sister of madness. On a personal basis, I think that envy stems from either our insecurity which may be deep seethed due to upbringing or societal pressures. Kids are many times bullied by their peers who they may view as either stronger or getting away with it. I suspect that if the victim can’t fight then one’s internal recourse is either feeling violated and victimized or actually envying the abuser and hating him for it. But this is all psychological. There is however in any society a focused hatred of others which is fanned from a very early age a child witnesses. In case of Jew hatred, I strongly believe that the accusation that the Jews and not the Romans crucified what many children perceived as little baby Jesus in all the iconography they witnessed going to church, must have struck a psychological inner chord. The same with Islam. If you read chapter 2, the longest one in the Koran, you may end up feeling enmity for Jews. Why? Well God did whatever He could to free them from slavery and how did they thank Him. They built a golden calf to adore instead. I suspect the reader would feel they were major ungrateful to the Almighty. This view of Jews permeates most theological texts. It reminds me of the acute hatred some people have of Trump, for example. It is really difficult to empathize with Trump when the media portrays him as an ogre 247365. What is most fascinating, if I may use the term, is that antisemitism is practically absent in non Western or non Islamic societies. The indigenous tribes of the Americas are not antisemites. Neither are the Vietnamese or the Cambodians to name a few. They may have other psychological or cultural enemies to focus their hatred or envy. I think that we hate those who we believe or are told hate us. The only antidote is Love: Amor vincit omnia. Very, very interesting to hear you discuss this. I absolutely believe Anti-Semitism is spiritual and it is demonic. At the same time I believe the opposite of Anti-Semitism is also supernatural. I was an atheist with no religious background but when I was born-again one of the things God showed me very early on was His love for Israel and the Jewish people. I was not going to a church that taught about this. But it was a burning desire in me to know about this and it had a big impact on my life. I ended up as a volunteer in the Ukraine helping Jewish people with humanitarian aid and helping them make Aliyah. Many Christians I know also had a similar experience of their eyes being opened about God’s relationship with Israel. By the way the Christian New Testament is absolutely not Anti-Semitic - the opposite is true. It was written by Jews - much of it to Jews. It is states explicitly that God has an everlasting, irrevocable covenant with the Land and the people and a future for both. I believe it is impossible to be a real Christian and be Anti-Semitic. How can you believe His Word and have His Spirit within you and hate who He loves?

Always so interesting to hear the analysis of Rabii Rowe!! His analysis of the root cause antisemitism makes my whole system relax. It rings so true. My grandparents were a couple of those anti zionist Jews who had a lot of hope that socialism would be the unifying factor and that they now had a place in society in Central Europe. (In my opinion these ideologies had a very good idea at their initial core yet unsound mechanisms have taken over at different points in time and I love how the Rabbi seems to be open to that kind of take). My grandparents fled pogroms in Ukraine and later by the hair escaped the nazis moving north. Their sons have battled with the idea of integration in Europe vs emigrating to Israel and also I saw in my dad that feeling of worry that Israel was unjustly demonized and also being less than fair and humane to the arab minority and how the world responded to that. He basically always believed that there would be another huge wave of anti semitism, and I must say I hear his talk of that in my head as I am in disbelief right now. Because we didn't assimilate (IE convert) to the religion of our rulers (Christianity and Islam). Every religious minority that has remained in Christian and Muslim lands has suffered unimaginably for it. Druze, Alawites, Zoroastrians, Samaritians, Yazidis. Or they were totally wiped out (European polytheists). Great discussion but I have never understood the reasons for antisemitism and still don’t. I grew up Catholic and now I renounced Catholicism and consider myself a Christian. I love Jesus who was a Jew and my faith’s origin is Jewish. I have always held great admiration and respect for Israel and it’s people. Thank you so much for this video . Every part of this video makes sense to me and in my opinion need to be viewed by millions. I am proud of being a Jew and all my friends know it and I stand up to anti-semitism when I see it. I believe there is an obsession with this war and a complete double standard when it comes to Israel as stated in the video but at the same time feel such compassion for the suffering in Gaza.
As someone who has finally ridden himself of his jew hatred in his sixth decade, I can only mourn the time I wasted my life and mind on musing on this foolishness, and celebrate walking into the mental sunlight.
