Hey, hope you are doing good. I just wanted to share some things I've been seeing in the word lately. This is amazing truth. Please let me know your thoughts about it... The writer of Hebrews said that Christ died *FOR THE SINS COMMITTED UNDER THE FIRST COVENANT.* We were never under the first Covenant. Hebrews 9:15 ...For Christ died to set *THEM* free from the penalty of the sins *THEY had committed UNDER THAT FIRST COVENANT.* We did not commit sins under that first Covenant. Also...Jesus said... He was *ONLY* sent to the lost sheep of the house of Isreal. That is not us. Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, *"I WAS SENT ONLY TO THE LOST SHEEP OF THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL."* It's all about ISRAEL... not us. Also... Paul said... *Jesus was sent TO REDEEM THOSE WHO WERE UNDER THE LAW.* Galatians 4:4-5 4But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, *BORN UNDER THE LAW, 5SO THAT HE MIGHT REDEEM THOSE WHO WERE UNDER THE LAW...* We were never under the law. The second Covenant was ONLY for the ones under the first Covenant, those under the law. That would only be Israel. Hebrews 8:10 For this is the *COVENANT* that I will make *WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL...* We were never under a Covenant. This is fantastic news for us. God's love, mercy and grace is much greater than we ever thought possible. I believe the Parable of the lost sheep is a picture of God's love for ALL people ever created. The house of Isreal represents the one lost sheep. They were the ONLY ONES that needed to be redeemed from the curse under the first Covenant. *That's why Jesus said He was ONLY sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.* God agreed to impute Israel's sin to THEM under that Old Covenant. Then He Himself paid the debt THEY incurred under that Covenant. Romans 5:13 For until the law sin was in the world: *BUT SIN IS NOT IMPUTED WHEN THERE IS NO LAW.* Romans 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the *LORD WILL NOT IMPUTE SIN.* *We are blessed because we are not under the law and our sin is not imputed to us!* Never has been and never will be! Praise the Lord! *I truly believe that God's love, mercy and grace is much bigger than we ever thought possible!* *Nobody's sin today is being imputed to them!* That is amazing news! Praise the Lord! @@SalvationByGrace The Book of Hebrews was addressed to Jews who were either wanting to concert back to the old faith or wanted to combine the two Covenants. What you say makes sense in that. Christ tasted death for every man, and that He was/is God's final revelation, our High Priest. Thanks for sharing!

Willful sin? Hebrews was written to the Hebrews that had been under the law and found grace but were going back to the law. Under grace your sin is not imputed to you but under law your sin is imputed to you. So putting yourself back under the law is willful sin. Romans 5:13 For until the law sin was in the world: but *sin is not imputed when there is no law.* Romans 6:14b *...for ye are not under the law, but under grace.* The writer tells them there is no other sacrifice for sin. Jesus was not going to come die again because His one time sacrifice was sufficient. Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had *offered one sacrifice for sins for ever,* sat down on the right hand of God; Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby *ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Go back and read all of chapter 10 and you should see what it's teaching. I'll post some of it for you below. Hebrews 10 1For *the law* having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, *can never with those sacrifices* which they *offered year by year* continually *make the comers thereunto perfect.* 2For then would they not have *ceased to be offered?* because that the worshippers *once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.* 3But *in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.* 4For it is *not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.* 9Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. *He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.* 10By the which will we are sanctified through *the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.* *17And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.* *18Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.* Animal sacrifice cannot purge sin but Jesus' one time sacrifice did! *It says in verse 2 that once sin is purged, you should have no more conscience of sin!* It doesn't say you won't sin but you just shouldn't have a conscience of sin. *And guess what Jesus did purge our sin!
