Great video! Yeah, it is way more work with getting a job today. Now I have to get dressed up just to apply for a job, with all these companies asking for a video interview.

I hear you, JT, and see the benefits of the pre-recorded videos, however I generally tailor my stories based on the job description, and sometimes also based on the vibe / research I have done on my interviewers. But I do see it as a way to stand out and may give it a try - thanks!

I was laid off last August. I interviewed so many times. I finally got an offer last month and am in the second week of my new job. It does feel good to be wanted.

Job interviewing from the manager's side. We are under pressure to look for the 100% fit for the job, skill-wise and culture-wise. We aren't as stupid as bean counters hope we are when we interview. As far as AI is concerned, we created our own problem. It costs a great deal of money to hire and no one today or in 1996 (when I started interviewing others) wants to spend the money. Is there an answer, be authentic, be valuable, don't play the match game.

Part of the decision to engage in a capitalist system was to provide labor to the population. I'm hearing a lot of complaints about the workforce not being skilled. We have kept interest rates artificially low for years which is a boon for business, there are always some sort of tax cuts, government incentive loans for business, ppp loans etc... Take that money and train the people unless of course your intention is to replace them with AI. If you go the AI route, just remember people still have their voting rights... God only knows how they will vote.
