We signed him because mainoo is the only player past the defensive line that wants to pass the ball and we need someone else who can link up play. Hojlund receives 1 dangerous pass a game and we don’t have the ability to swap out all of our wingers (barring garnacho) to help get the ball to him.

He's nowhere near the same level--but his position kind of reminds me of Cantona who also wasn't quite a 9, wasn't quite a 10--but enhanced everything around him. Think of how many games Mctominay started up top with Hojlund and now that can be Zirkzee. Or some games having Hojlund come off the bench against tired legs as he did to close the season on a goal scoring tear. It is a terrific signing, and shows that Ineos understand the mission. As a United fan, he’s got good potential, but he’s young and very inexperienced. Finishing certainly isn’t his strongest attribute, I think he’s gonna struggle with having an end product. There will be flashy dribbles and moments, but the final finish or pass probably won’t be there. I would be very surprised if he finished with more than 13/14 goal contributions in all competitions next year

He's not gonna be prolific,, but he could well be a reason for Manchester united scoring more goals. If you look at Arsenal for example and Manchester City,,,, Arsenal don't have a prolific striker but I think last season scored more goals than city,, it's about balance of the team and if Zirkzee means more goals from the likes of Garnacho, Hojlund Rashford and Bruno then happy days. He does drop off and use his creativity from a deeper position which draws the opposition centre halves out. Could be a good signing. Plus he could play that false 9 so we could get an extra body in midfield when going to those difficult away fixtures
