What Wes Ball did with this movie astounded me! Continuing the story of Caesar by exploring his legacy as an almost religious figure was brilliant. On top of that the VFX were immaculate and the performances just as impressive. An epic return to this world that has me wanting a lot more! Fantastic review
I appreciate that Zach! Happy to see so many people are loving this entry and I agree that the religious twist on the legacy was awesome to see! Thanks for the comment 🙌
I love me a slow burn, I just think a lot of these scenes drag on for far too long. Maybe my attention span is shorter than Gen Z lol, I appreciate the comment!
4 words which wouldve improved this entire movie. Give Proximus A Chainsaw. Sure he was politically powerful and took Noahs family away from their job as bird farmers but none of that was enough for me to care if he got hold of powerful weapons. But if he cut off some apes arm then id feel like ok maybe itd be bad if he got into the fort, but that didnt happen. The first half of the movie was great but the second half where theres apes not getting to drive the tanks or pilot jets sucked. Noah and the girl got captured and everything was fine actually. No one got tortured or even threatened they simply couldve opened the vault and left. The threat didnt exist.
I felt like the whole last part was just a rerun of previous movies. i wouldhave prefered if it was more like a war for the planet of the apes, where desperate humans finaly droped the nukes on themselves.
